I always use Yendor as my name.
It's my name backwards.

Something that ends with "-Sama".

What a fucking weeb.

>Be shit with names
>Use name generator to find first name
>Panic as a surname is needed
>See box for NWN on the side
>Nights it is then
>Play mmo make friends
>Decide to make another character
>Panic again
>Decide to dedicate each of my alts to my friends
>End up having a main
>Carry on using that name for future names

For my username where I might have real life buddies playing with me, I use an amalgamation of both my character names and my real name.

Are you my dad?

I always choose usernames based on what I'm watching or listening to at the time.

>a minecraft youtuber
>twitch streamer
>a camwhore
>xxN05C0P3420xx
>emperor trump
>cumdumpster
>petroleum jelly
>minority slayer

you just have to not take the game seriously at all

I have a good 3-4 names I use. My main one if I don't mind being known. The others are for when I'm just not really caring or too lazy and probably won't play the game for very long.

Even worse, a weeb with an overly high opinion of himself.

I always use Cain, it's kinda edgy but the name works for every kind of setting and I started using it when I was like 10

You sound like someone who thinks they are much funnier then they really are.

I always try to put in something that would offend Muslims or is anti-semitic first. If that's blocked I move on to variations of Nigger, Chinks, Gooks, Slants, Shitskins ect. until I find the one word their name filter doesn't catch. After that I play the game.

A variety of Seinfeld references makes up all my names.

a spot on observation user, you're right

YOU PLONKER

I think long and hard for something fitting the theme, class and race, without seeming a blatant copy of an established name. I'll put off starting a character until I can come up with something suitable.
I've deleted MMO characters in their teens on deciding I prefer an alternative spelling

I do find myself using Dorian quite often, but mostly just in single-player cases.

Depends on the game and what kind of character it will be.
Online game with tons of people where you are just a faggot among thousands gets a non serious name like picture related.
For "serious" games or playtroughs I have a set of names I made up over the years so that makes deciding much easier.

Canon Names if applicable, then thematic name generators.

I just take random english word and "pronounce" them in finnish.

Like:
Bouncer = Pounseri
Gunman = Kunmies
Fighter = Vikteri
Darkness = Tarknessi
And so on.

I smash names together in my head until something I like pops up.
A few examples.
Tamera Sylnoven.
Claire Arlistolon.
Eric Darmantus.
Trent Gallanus.
Freya Ilstraven

Behindthename.com

I try to use some forms of an old European names

Brian?

I think of something stupid and type it out. Revolutionary technique, I know.

i just write bum hole lol

fantasynamegenerators.com

Fantasy names >> alien (species) names

Always name my guy some weird alien name then make him bald, no eyebrows, and big black eyes

>when an MMO won't let you put a space in the middle of your names, so it doesn't look retarded

Nope, Chris.

Hargrove, and if thats taken I add some bullshit last name

I just use my 3 letter initials, and tack on some variation of a mineral if it needs to be longer. Never have to worry about my name being taken.

Dartboard.

P5: Enter name and surname: Master Baiter. Donzo.

Paul?

>mineral
mineral thread?

I originally used epsxe because I'm fucking stupid, but people pronounced it as "epsee" so I switched.

>you will never have a fagquartz all over your face

I use my last name, it fits well everywhere.

I also have a bunch of backup names if it's more than one character.

>username is already taken

anagrams

I have 2 usernames that I alternate on different places when I feel like it, one is my last name modified a bit and the other is a word combination from a sample of my favorite ambient artist
I also have a list of ~50 names that I use when I need to name more characters or change nicknames, coming up with names is fun

dan gerous

I used to use an english-my language mashup name of a certain weapon but people couldn't pronounce that so I shortened it.
If the short version is taken then I use the original name again or switch the places of a few letters.

Think of a colour, now translate it into french

Got my name

I just meditate until something comes to mind.

>Feminine form of AALI. It was popularized in the English-speaking world by the singer Aaliyah Haughton (1979-2001), who was known simply as Aaliyah.
>died in a plane crash

What the fuck, I had no idea.

Always make my usernames my last name seeing as though its a different spelling to a word that sounds cool. The only problem is that a lot of people think Im baneposting.

I try to pick something that makes for the setting. If it's a Persona game, I name my character after a Kamen Rider. If it's Elder Scrolls, I use a name generator for whatever race I'm playing until I find a name I like. If it's a game in a contemporary or futuristic setting, I name them after something from whichever book I last read.

I always put my online nickname for males and for women I mostly always chose Ruby,

such as?

>rouge
>bleu
>jaune
>vert
>orange
>marron
>noir
>blanc
How original

That's actually pretty cool

Anything related to delivery men. Milkman, Deliveryman, you name it.

>chara

rouge and noir sound sick af

I use my real name.

i use the captcha.

t. taxi Victoria

I really just come up with shit on the spot
I used to use my real name tho

>casaccia park
Not bad

I take a random word I like from some name generator and then add onto it with a similar word. Something like Drooptroop Fartpart or Shackletackle. It's easy if you just need a username that is not too serious, when it comes to RP names and such I get stuck on the character name for almost an hour.

I used to do this, until I became overtly aware anonymous people on the internet knew my name and I stopped.

I make the same character with the same name in every game with a character customization suite.

I usually just pick some cryptids as usernames.

>Osama

Poor lonely Colorado.

>I...
>I'm so happy that you're my first boyfriend, Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp...

usually a combination of the last 3 guys i slept with. somehow despite my actual gender i usually Play Male Characters

>I'm a girl guys
>give me attention

don't worry colorado is full of californians now, they're all the monsters we need.

>Dark souls
Literallly just call it what class I'm going with.
>Persona/SMT
Ridiculous weeb parody name or canon name.
>Pokemon
Whatever inappropriate thing I can get away with, just out of spite for the word filter.
>Final Fantasy
Default/canon name.

>Giving thought on character name in a single player game

Whore might be a good username for you

I think of a symbolic word and put it through an elvish or latin filter.

I honestly prey that the game has a built in name, or a random generator. I'm shit for naming guys, If I can I alt tab and do a fantasy generator name thing.

>Sup Forums pass
...

Singleplayer: according to headcanon. Such as Valkyrie when my character is kind of "out of this world", and literally saves everything.

MMO or w/e: I have a clan name. Game better fucking allow spaces in names

Rotating between 3 different names, depending on the setting
>aarbron (fantasy)
>alec (sci fi)
>jack (real world)

I never play as women so I don't have any female names.

Dayman000

There's a word filter in Pokemon?

Usually a famous philosopher that matches the theme of the video game.

For example, P5 was Jacques Derrida.
KOTOR 2 I named the Exile Nietzsche.
Skyrim I named him Locke etc.

After playing Big Bang Beat in 2010 i started to call my character Zanma in every game but Pokemon, until SM came out, and it was the first time i didn't use my real name and didn't pick the male trainer.

nice data mining thread

>single player games
>immersive name and stays true to the lore of the games

>multiplayer/mmo games
>WIZARDBEAR52

I just pick a cute name that looks like it matches the character

The last one make me laugh.

The Anal Devastator

I usually stare at the screen for 2 hours then pick an easier game

I always use the same name that i stole from someone in my brother's xbox 360 friend list, if is not available i use the callsings of cod mw2 like "money shot" "time is money" "dishes and done" or just "Lord Peña Nieto"

Underated

>Game where you have to name every single one of your party members because there's no default name
>You could have over 100+ different party members because you tame enemy monsters to be your party members

I'm a double bastard, being that my father and grandfather on my mother's side were bastards. Ever since I found out 2 years ago, I've used both of their real fathers' last names for online handles and protag names interchangeably. My father has still yet to add me on PSN because of it.

Suck niggers screaming about it

Just my name folloed by Aplha, Omega , Beta or Delta

>my name is Marvin
>often use a variation of my name depending on my character
>Swordfighter: Swarvin
>Dwarf: Dwarvin
>Argonian: Lizarvin

I too call myself STOP largo

my last one was THE WALL because no one can stop me.

I use the name of a Chinese scholar. Sometimes it's taken but his full name almost never is.

Funnily enough I named myself that on Steam as a joke for a day or two after playing Jade Empire and reading up on famous scholars afterwards, but I ended up liking it so much I've kept it for like 3 years now.

Little_[Insert generic american loli name]_11

Is what I always pick

I use "No Heads Allowed" because I really like Robespierre
