Unironically Shadow the hedgehog pre 06. In SA 2 and heroes Shadow was more theatrical and pompous similar to Kuja. He wasn't edgy except for his design. In fact, as another user posted Vincent, he was the same way in FF VII except less full of himself

none of the characters of FF VII are well done. They are gross cliches that got the pass for being the first ones to stablish the archetypes and making hundred dozens of copies, but in retrospect its shit

If you learn his backstory he wasn't even edgy to begin with. You actually do feel somewhat sorry for him given his good hearted nature was shattered because of Mendoza's betrayal of his trust. By the end of the game, his calm demeanor goes completely unstable as he has nothing left. The only other person he put his trust in has died.
