Black Ops 3 has a particularly beefy suite of splitscreen multiplayer options. All modes can be played split screen, even the campaign.

CoD 2016 and CoD 2017 are the same game, but split the userbase from those who don't want to move on and those who are bored of last year's installment. As they make more yearly sequels, the install base continues to be split, making some of the older games obsolete. Or if a new sequel isn't as good as the last one then the playerbase stays on the older titles and or moves on to next year's title.

The sequels add nothing new and visually are outdated by the time they release.

The Wii U was the best 8th gen console and it didn't get the major effort from Nintendo to put their best games on the system. Everything else has been trash.

I recently got back into games after not playing for a few years, and I have to say I feel like they're better than ever. at least, in the sense that I can find any 'type' of game I want. They might be lower budget indie titles (e.g. pillars of eternity, rimworld etc), but I can find something that feels good for the most niche genres I enjoy. I couldn't say that a few years ago. The only thing I'm really missing are genuine simulation/management games like rollercoaster tycoon and SimCity. Cities Skylines and Planet Coaster just don't quite do the management part right.

Their next hardware console will also be a Switch. As will the next.

Given past numbers, 20 million Switch sales from Japan is reasonable. Especially considering portable consoles still matter in Japan. It's the west where it matters. Combining US and Europe I'm sure we'll see half of that number from the west. Portables have been btfo by Minecraft playing tablets, and the Switch has essentially been a WiiU tier flop in Europe.

30 million is a reasonable number, and that's HALF of what the 3DS pulled.
