Can we talk about SSDX+BM and what it means for GBA remasters

Can we talk about SSDX+BM and what it means for GBA remasters

Great, we go from 160p to 240p.
Can Nintendo kill this abortion of a system already please

>lets remake a GBA game with some of the most well-done pixel art on the system in a marginally higher resolution for a dying system and completely ruin and sanitize the visual style
>what does this mean for GBA remasters?

Calling it now, They will release Warioware inc Mega Microgame$ DX and this will happen
>Rhythmware Style slapped on
>Kat/Ana Story rectoned to be a dream cuz ''MUH KAWAII PRESHOOLERS''
>Ashley appearing after Wario's Last game as ''Bonus content''

What a Piece of Shit Artstyle

It means that my dick will get Bigger

>implying that the first and third things would be bad

The first Mario vs Donkey is like the one main Nintendo thing on it that would really need it

>mario and luigi has been shit since dream team
>paper jam was the worst entry to date
>mario and luigi engine is already finished
>we can easily remake a good game since all of the heavy lifting is done
>release for $$$
means nothing, this was only a thing because it was easy.

Why is everyone so upset about the designs? I thought people liked this game for the writing and gameplay.

Normieizing Styles was a Terrible idea

Not everyone got hit, tho

people like the game for all of those reasons -- it's a well-designed holistic experience with a very consistent tone. the writing, visual style, and gameplay all matched up perfectly and worked in harmony to make the game fun and interesting. ruining the visual style removes a huge part of that appeal.

Bump

Huh

>Troopeas, a unique Beanbean Kingdom monster, turn into edited Koopa Troopa sprites with a recolored shell and a pair of leaves stuck on
>Dry Bones, an established Mario enemy that has been making appearances with its canon design since PiT and has sprites ready from PJ, gets a recreation of the SSS off-model design

What the fuck? My guess is the existing sprites don't accommodate the spinning-head-launching attack the Dry Bones had, so they figured if they had to put in the work to animate that anyway, they might as well remake the whole thing, whereas the Troopeas' only attacked by walking up to you, something they could effortlessly reusing from existing Koopa Troopa walk cycles.

So my takeaway from this is that there really isn't a crusade to homogenize the artstyle, and it's all based on reusing assets to push out one last easy game on the same engine before the 3DS is put to rest.

As anyone not mentally retarded could have guessed.

We still have a lot of posters pushing the "muh NSMBization" narrative.

Yeah, those are the ones mentally retarded.

Fpbp
I got my 3ds when I was 12 years old and the 3d gimmick was boring within 6 months, too bad we had to pay for that with a 240p screen forever.

>I got my 3ds when I was 12 years old
The absolute state of modern Sup Forums.

well, that'd make him (probably) 18 by now, if he got one around release

Check the release date again dude.

I rest my case.

February 26, 2011
Launch. The Nintendo 3DS launched in Japan on February 26, 2011, priced at ¥25,000. On March 25, 2011, the system launched in Europe, with pricing set by individual retailers. On March 27, 2011 the Nintendo 3DS launched in North America, priced at US$249.99.

if he was 12 when the system released, he'd be 18 by now, what about it?

The remake isn't really needed since the gameplay itself is very simplistic and doesn't feel clunky by today's standards, this can also be said about the other entries. Outside of the gameplay they seem to be fixing some core issues with the game like making mandatory tutorials optional, allowing you to switch which overworld move you want to use with the touchscreen, and maybe even better balancing the game since the original had very poor balance issues. Along with some content found in the more recent entries (Boss fight ring, challange ring, etc) I feel like these improvements will push this remake ahead of the original, and it will probably be the preferable way to play the game.

It means you're a faggot
