I quit at the plateau - it felt boring as hell.

The fact it gave me 4 unique powers in the first 3 hours I knew meant we had fuck all to look forward to for the rest of he game.

Didn't even wait until the new Zelda game came out. Is it overrated and has plenty of problems? Of course it is. But it doesn't change the fact that it was a fantastic game and a great first try for a huge change in the Zelda series.

Naaaah. It will still be only held by autist and the niggerest of sony ponies. The world as moved on, BotW is a modern classic and will be so for posterity, even while a bunch of uatist spit and fume in it's shadow.

I played it on Cemu and was thoroughly unimpressed. The world is huge but it's mostly empty. Fire physics are shit and you can't even burn structures, something that you could do even in ancient games like Far Cry 3. The rest of the physics effects are fun for like 5 minutes then you realize it's your typical havok shit. The weapons keep breaking and the inventory system is absolutely awful. To top it all off the music is completely forgettable and the graphics are absolutely disgusting.

I'd give it a 8/10 overall because the game is still pretty fun for 20 hours or so, then it becomes boring and repetitive.

I've been tired of 3d Zelda since the dawn of the GameCube era. I've played them all, but I didn't even get past the first dungeon in skyward sword without giving up due to boredom.

Bought breath of the wild for Wii u yesterday and played for about 2 hours. I like it so far. A lot of people complain that it doesn't feel like zelda, and although that's a valid complaint I don't think it's a bad thing. Honestly it feels like a Bethesda game but with a strong Zelda influence, the ability to climb, and (so far at least) with out all the bugs.

No way, there are too many people out there (especially in the media) who want to be part of a "phenomenon". That's why they've been so eager to call Breath of the Wild "the greatest game of all time" right out of the gate. Being "part of history" is more important to them than the actual nitty gritty of video games.
