I just won all this in an eBay auction for 75 freedom dollars. What am I in for?
I just won all this in an eBay auction for 75 freedom dollars. What am I in for?
GREATNESS.
I've had DS3 on PC and PS4 for like a year. I'd like to play the first two on console, but fuck me if I'm buying a PS3.
Fuckin backwards compatibility when, Sony? Greedy yellow Jews.
Buy persona 5 dummie
>fat ps3
ylod awaits
>the first two
Why wouldn't you just play DaS1 on PC with DSfix?
>fat ps3
ylod
HA HI HU HE HO
>fat ps3
You have a couple weeks before that thing breaks
Sticky white stuff ahead.
oh shit it's a spiderman PS3
literally the Dark Souls of eBay purchases
>greatest hits
I avoid modified boxart like the plague. 75$ is steep.
I'd rather play on consoles. Most of my gaming is done in the living room, crashed on the couch. I just want to turn on the console and press 1 button.
My PC is mostly used for Dwarf Fortress.
>I avoid modified boxart like the plague
It's literally mass produced paper with ink on it that will not appreciably go up in value over time. Get over yourself, autist.
That greatest hits packaging is terrible
You're a lucky little nigger, I'm looking for a PS3 and the best I can find is €70 for just a console and controller.
>caring more about the packaging than the games themselves.
>DF
Been trying to get into this. How did you manage the learning curve?
>Tfw got a ps3 for 80 bucks off an IRL friend along with about 8 games
So this...is the power of social links.
Maybe you should max out your social links next time.
Then you would get stuff for free.
put in a better hard drive before you play any games on it and spare yourself using the crap backup utility, get a 7200rpm drive at least
consider sending it to someone that can downgrade it for you so you can pirate games
clean the fuck out of it
if you're going to buy games, always go digital over physical, even if you like collecting, just because the BD drive is slower than a kindergartener with downs
Great experiences, if you havent played them
Also, the screw that comes in the hard drive bay is a piece of shit, don't put it back on once you take it out.
>fat ps3
chest the system version
you could probably jailbreak it
I've had mine for seven or eight years and it's still going. Granted it was the third or whatever version with just the two USB ports and no PS2 BC.
Where are you in Europe my friend?
>essentials
No matter how old a PS3 is, it's been updated by whoever owned it, or they'd be selling it as CFW READY L@@K for a higher price. However, every fat PS3 and many slim PS3s can be downgraded with extra hardware.
the nastiest part of this isn't that the games are reprints with red borders, anons. it's that they're from TWO DIFFERENT REGIONS.
> it's been updated by whoever owned it
not necessarily true
they may not even know and they're just getting rid of it after it's been sitting in their closet for years
it's worth checking, anyway
Who the fuck said that? Stop making shit up user. The games are good but I'm pretty sure anyone would pick standard packaging over that trash given the choice.
Ireland, there's a 80GB PS3 in my local second hand chain store but it's the fat one, is the Slim better? They cost more but not by much
Why does it cost 75 fucking bucks, is Demons so expensive ?
I got Dark Souls for like 12 bucks some years ago
also: If you get hooked on the series, prepare your anus for the unbalanced and half finished DS2 and the top polished DS3 were nothing's really a threat anymore
So pick your poisen motherfucker
The fat one has a little chance on PS2 backwards compability (depends on the version, ask to see the consoles label).
But if you allready have a PS2 you should consider the slim because of faster loading times and longer life.
Oh, was the PS3 part of it ?
Ok why not
play demon's souls first because it will play like a beta version of dark souls if you don't.
prepare to die edition pc w/ sfix is just as good as console, and with rpcs3 you can emulate demon's just fine when you alter some settings
Cheers m8, I'll keep that in mind, but
>all the slims are 12gb
why
Because you can put your own hdd in it.
It's not actually as hard as it appear. Use a tileset and the Lazy Newb Pack, and the DF wiki quick guide to getting started. It walks you through step by step
In one dedicated afternoon you can easily learn how to make a self sustaining fort.
Freedom.
Jesus Christ wrong fucking thread sorry
I found a slim PS3 with GTA5 and Catherine for 100 dolaridoos
Hey can I use my own HDD in a regular fat PS3
every model but the original 40gb was the stripped down model
yours is likely a 60gb or 80gb originally
Good bargain
>also: If you get hooked on the series, prepare your anus for the unbalanced and half finished DS2 and the top polished DS3 were nothing's really a threat anymore
What's the difference between the last-gen and current gen versions of Dark Souls 2?
Last gen didn't get Scholar of the First Sin
I have a launch 60gb that is BC. It got YLOD in 09 sadly
>europe got the prepare to die edition for consoles
>US didn't
What kind of bullshit is that.
Wait wat is there a prepare to die edition for ps3? Does it have the dlc
From what i heard from people who fix them you can reflow at least 5 if needed but dont need more than once (google it)
yes, it was eu and jp only
actually I think us might have gotten it digitally only
Never. It isn't possible. PS now is the closest you'll get.
>FAT OLD PS3
>ESSENTIALS
>GREATEST HITS
>RED FUCKING BOXES
Please stop it. Everything is wrong.
>$75
Holy shit you're a retard, both games are old enough to be bargain bin games and are also way cheaper when on sale on PSN. You paid way too much.
I suppose it depends on the setup. My computer is near a big TV so it becomes a console with steam and a HDMI cable. DS1 initially had a shit port but patches and DSfix went a long way to fix the game. DS2 and DS2 Scholar run great on PC.
Note that Scholar has different enemy/item placement and different lighting than vanilla DS2 ONLY ON PC/X1/PS4, "Scholar" on PS3/360 doesn't have these changes.. If you're only gonna play one, I highly recommend just playing Scholar.
I got $140 on PayPal but can't find a PS3 that's not extremely expensive. Like what the fuck?
Last-gen's "Scholar" edition only has DLC, otherwise is original DS2.
Next-gen (PC/X1/PS4, note PC has both the old and new versions as separate games) is the true Scholar edition. 3 main differences:
- Different enemy placement/behaviour. Most of the time making areas harder but in interesting ways, like actually putting Heide knights in Heide area, and they only aggro once the boss of that area is beat, and there's a new miniboss on the other side of the area. Also stuff like making it so the enemies at the lost sinner bonfire don't auto-aggro on respawn which was complete horseshit in the original game.
- Different item placement. This one is HUGE imo, original game had the retarded idea to have non-respawning enemies have rare drop items forcing players to ascetic areas just for a chance to farm them. Now, many of those items replace previously useless treasure. Also stuff like McDuff's ember being available earlier because having him unlocked at Iron Keep was just stupid. There's more petrified statues too so fragrant branches are more useful.
- The lighting system from the old E3 trailers is back. It looks nicer and now torches are actually useful.
There's little stuff too like lighting all torches in certain areas activates secrets n such. If you only play one, play the next-gen version.
How well will 120GB do me in a PS3 Slim lads
Well enough, if not you could always replace the harddisk with a bigger one.
