So I bought this as a collection from Steam.
What should I expect.
So I bought this as a collection from Steam.
What should I expect.
It was 7,99€.
Is it comfy?
You're in for a tight, single-player MMO experience. The game is actually the remains of an MMO that died in development. Good game though, if you like Action RPGs.
You're in for a botched c-section of a game. You could have thrown a dart at a wall covered in rpg's and got a better game every single time.
A by the numbers run of the mill modern action RPG. It is about as average as you can get. If this game were a color it would be gray.
People seem to have a lot of different opinions about this.
>Massively Multiplayer Online game
>not multiplayer or online
It's very boring but if you like Single player MMO games then you should like it.
a soulless rpg
i played about a quarter of the areas and there is just nothing interesting enough about it to make you keep going
Average western rpg with awful camera
Reckoning wasn't part of the MMO, it was always a different game.
Yeah, that's why I prefaced it with singleplayer. Its not really an MMO, but it looks and plays like one.
An offline MMORPG that has pretty cool artstyle and varied areas.
Also fetch quests, lots and lots of em, story wasn't bad
It's like someone was sent a bunch of rejected Blizzard assets and plot ideas and made a game the best they could with it. Combat isn't anything special compared to any other 3rd person hack and slash, art style is abysmal, storyline might as well have been nonexistent. It feels like a shitty tech demo rather than a game.
WoW reminiscent graphics (but better) and color schemes.
Different fighting styles/weapon types.
Skill trees.
Quests that are initiated and carried out in a way that feels like an MMO.
Overall fun.
>WoW reminiscent graphics (but better)
>Brought back to life by a 3ft Hugh Neutron
Sure.
>It's like someone was sent a bunch of rejected Blizzard assets and plot ideas and made a game the best they could with it.
Isnt that what wow is nowadays?
It is the most average game I've ever played. Nothing great to talk about and nothing terrible.
With similar expectations for quality, yeah.
Amalur is at the very top of my list of "games that should be amazing but are absolutely mediocre for no discernable reason"; all of the parts of it are good but the sum of all parts is bad, which makes no sense to me and is baffling even to this day, I retried it again years after my first playthrough and I still felt the exact same about it playing a completely different character build.
It's literally an aborted MMO.
Anyone still actively charging money for this festering menstrual discharge should be shot.
Offline MMO.
Wasted Potential: The Game.
how i fucking wish this game were what it was meant to be
>Offline MMO.
Except "offline MMOs" are generally all very high quality games. It feels more like a shitty knockoff of elder scrolls.
>amalur and dragons dogma will never be good as intended
How long was the playthrough ?
dragon's dogma's still a good game though, we just don't go to the moon.
too much ambition is as bad as too little
Except Dragons Dogma is good, it's got a cohesive and atmospheric art style with incredible sound design, great gameplay and a storyline that isn't packing an extra chromosome.
If you played any PS2 hack and slash you hit the breadth that Kingdoms of Amalur can offer you.
It's not bad, but it will get really repetitive and possibly boring.
afaik EA was eager to make a sequel but the head devs got too stupid for their own good sold the IP to literally Rhode Island..
So thats why theres 2 dlc's , rather than a sequel ?
Are you retarded
Amalur 2's potential publisher got cold feet and pulled out because the governor of RI called Amalur a failure
Kingdoms of Amalur IS a failure.
Legitimately comfy single player mmo with a 10/10 soundtrack. Not revolutionary, but you can see the groundwork for what could have been a solid series.
It's a "love it or hate it" title in every sense of the word. There's no middle ground
Boredom.
The only people who love it didn't spend a lot of time with many other games.
Yes, but it was specifically the governor acknowledging the failure which scared off investors for the sequel.
Good, no money wasted developing a game with even less creativity involved.
Nice male buttocks.
An RPG so generic that it might make you physically ill but the combat is fun for a couple of hours. I've tried to get into it 4 or 5 times but I die of boredom each time.
This is what i was looking for, a comfy single player.
You chose the wrong game then user. You could have a better experience doing literally anything else.
Fun with chakrams.
>art style is abysmal
YOU'LL HOLD YOUR TONGUE SIR
LEAST YOU LOSE IT
The art and the music of the game are some of it's saving graces. Walking through giant beautifully designed colorful forests with Grant Kirkhope's music playing is great.
The biggest buzz kill for me and many others is the fact that the entire game you are told that you are THE FATELESS ONE! The only one able to make any sort of choice in the world!
And then you don't really make any big choices because the quest system is trying to be an MMO so bad. It's still a good game buried under all that.
Tell me user what game should i have gotten.
i played it while bored one day and it was playable, but it had the most generic story, characters, lore and world i have ever seen.
Strongly disagreed. We played the same game, the over world has less convincing forests than those massive trees in WoW.
fucking fantastic music
pretty locations
breddy gud lore
tons of loot
mmo-tier quests
7/10 would pirate again
>lore and world
The Fae were interesting as hell. I don't get the hate for the world as bland or something.
Quess I coulda pirated too, but it was so easy this way plus cost so low.
It's the combat system of the MMO BaseballMan wanted to make
A game so expensive it bankrupted Rhode Islans
Curt Schillings baby. Too bad his company went under. Heard extremely jaded opinions about it, but I guess it's alright
A mediocre failed MMORPG that they slashed the MMO off of last minute. Awesome combat, everything else is meh at best.
I'm sorry not every game appeals to your dark brooding sensibilities but the art style is beautiful. From the bright colorful forests of summer far at the starting area to the war torn coasts to the realm of the winter Fae on the other side of the ocean every environment feels unique thanks to the art style of the game.
Game's a broken easy pile of shit. No challenge. You will never die. Yes, I'm talking about the highest setting. Kingdoms is a joke and legit one of the worst games ever made.
No. Kill yourself.
Play on a harder difficulty.
Crafting to satisfy your inner autism.
What a quality post. Butthurt Road Islander detected. Fuck your bankrupt state.
xenoblade chronicles with even less content
But with better art style, music, combat and even somehow story. Poor xenocuck.
SAD!
i really wish there was a good rebalancing patch removing level cap and making it harder
going full mage was pretty fun as far as magic arpg combat goes, certainly funnier than DD
