I'm currently playing W1 and holy shit what a pain the game is. I'm seriously considering skipping this and going straight to W2. I've played W3.

I immediatly hopped on a W1 W2 playthrough.

I really wanted to like this game but the gameplay is just bad to average.

W1 is mostly trash you have to endure for the story. It's interesting in ONE PART somewhere in the middle and the rest is distilled tedium, but it's a really good part. W2 is hot garbage all around. W3 is the most tolerable all around, but still a shit game.

by switching to a different genre and accepting that untill cdpr makes something out of win again, i will just not get good stories in my games.

BotW has atrocious gameplay. If you turn the Witcher 3 up to Death March, you get at least some fun out of battle preparation.

Honestly? The DLCs came out, all the patches somhow fucked up the graphics (especially shadow pop-ins) and my PC was noisy as fuck suddenly which it never was before the patches. The DLC areas were mostly generic and boring with most quests being shit.

Best thing about the second DLC (fantasy land) is also hidden behind an optional decision and arbitrary nonsense so I had to replay that whole section. All this helped me take a closer look at the game and see it's overrated as hell.
