New update fucking broke the ps4 version. horrible framerate drops and certain menus tend to hardlock the system.

Yes, youtube.com/watch?v=WIUAC03YMlA

Still cautious on buying it though

Did it add __fun__?

>Is this game actually worth playing now?

No unless you can get it for like 5$ maybe.

Oh they're updating this?
I thought Sean had run away with the money
Kudos to them for trying to fix that mess I guess

HG is the first company to go against all gaming standards. They released a full priced stand alone DLC and then decided to build the rest of the game after the fact lol

must be your PS4 -- I got a PS4 Pro and haven't had any of those issues yet or atleast noticed them

also don't forget to restart your PS4 atleast once a day if you use Rest Mode

other than that no problems on my end

He did run away with the money.

It made nearly $200 million in the first month.

He used 1% of the revenue to hire 50 talented people for this update, while he jacked off in his mansion.

This game was already a really good chillax space exploration experience. The update today made it a GREAT game. I, for one, am going to buy a fresh copy.

...

they are not even being subtle with the star gate reference its just a straight up star gate

GET OUT OF HERE MURRAY

YOU'RE STEALING MY SHTICK!

procedual missions, so no

What's a star gate? A Halo thing? I never played Halo

I haven't played this game in nearly a year. Last time I logged in I tried to harvest materials that I couldn't because I needed some special item. I'm wondering if I should just start a new save file or can I get caught up on my old one

Grah! Give 100 [COMMON] [ISOTOPE] Grah! Grah! Reward 15 [NANITES] Grah!

No, it's not worth 60 dollars, and even then you shouldn't even be considering giving Sean and Hello Games money for all the scummy shit they did.
The "multiplayer" in this update is just orb spectator mode.

+Reputation [VYKEEN]

honestly brings back fond memories of the game when i pirated the 1.0 version

havent played it since, didnt even bother with the new base building patch either since it was a pirated version

star gate reference?

oh you mean the reference about ancient star gates around the world that have existed long before that shit show ever existed

I really want to play this but I don't want to cuck my Steam. Is there anywhere else I should get it?

just poke around at the local landfill, you will find a copy eventually

please tell me, how can you cuck your steam?

It's on GOG so it's easily piratable. Dunno if it's been updated yet though

i knew this game would be playable after a year or two

>Used to be interested in No Man's Sky before it came out.
>Didnt preorder because I never preorder games. Better to wait for day 1 reviews and buy.
>Everything that interested me about the game was a lie.
>Didnt buy, forgot about it.
>See this post, check out the video to see what they've added.
>Frame rate drops at 1:06
>Finally add multiplayer (which is one of the things that was originally actually interesting about this game)
>Its just orbs floating around

Yea Im glad I didnt buy this game. I'd rather not support such a shit developer.

>Game where you do absolutely fucking nothing in a neverending cycle with no forward progression whatsoever gets an update
>Said update lets you do absolutely fucking nothing in a neverending cycle with no forward progression whatsoever

damn, I wanna play that.

up to 16 players can now exist together in the same space. Fellow pilots will appear as floating blue orbs moving about the terrain, and proximity-based voice chat will allow players to plan their next jump together. That's pretty much it

This. I wish there was an actual endgame. Even with the new update you're grinding things out to grind things out to grind things out. The only goal is the center and there's barely an inventive to get there.

...

Also from that thread
How do people with a straight face defend this shit?

Reminder that there has been a far superior game that is No Man's Sky but actually fun and actually resembles a game AND YOU PLAY AS A FUCKING CAT

>taking a dumb frogposter seriously

>Didnt buy, forgot about it.
>See this post, check out the video and previous updates to see what they've added.
>The game now has nearly everything that was promised/overhyped by developer/community except for MP in a COD sense
>It's now way better than any shitty AAA game of recent years
>Find forgiveness in my soul
>Pick it up at full price tag as it is worth every penny
>Enjoy the shit out of the game for years to come
>Keep getting huge free updates

FTFY

>AND YOU PLAY AS A FUCKING CAT
Bullshit, give me some proof. I don't see it mentioned on that site.

...

Most of the people on the forums are like frogposter there.
The Steam forums are exactly like Reddit where every game no matter how shitty or scummy the developers are will be defended.

Just play empyrion or astroneer.

it says right in the update notes its just barebones multiplayer they hope to expand on

>fine I'll check it out
>7gb patch later
>fire up game
>it's still boring as shit
>UI is still a complete clusterfuck mess

Are there desert planets with dune worms in them?

It's $24 on PSN right now. With all the stuff they've put in over the last year that's actually a solid price.

Why does my PS4 sound like a fucking jet engine when I play this shitty game?

>desert planets

Yes, but they aren't sandy. Just barren plains of rock formations.

>dune worms

No.

>planets are only about 100 feet deep, hitting the bedrock
>oceans are literally as deep as 100 feet, no ginormous oceans with ungodly depths
>still boring as fuck
>a joke of a multiplayer system
>still nothing to do
>no boats yet

It's in the manual, you even switch between walking on all fours and just on your hind legs which makes a huge difference in how you're able to explore and interact.

>still falling for the no mans turd
oh im laffing

Woah, so this is the power of PlayStation.

Anyone found an animal bigger than a moose?
>those dinosaurs in the trailer
>obviously no chance to ever encounter them
>sean hides behind le power of infinity meme

>be 2018
>release update that allows for space stations to be built and everyone can interact with everyone now, even shoot each other out of the sky or blow up space stations

that is what would get me in the game

>7gb patch later
The entire game is 5.5 gb

Everything Sean has ever shown be it in a trailer or in "live" gameplay demos are fabrications. In a game where everything is determined by horseshit rng all of that aforementioned stuff we saw before release are the only things that were actually handcrafted.

if they eventually add like 60+ multiplayer mode (where you can see people and everything) i would totally buy this

I think everyone who plays this game must have some form of mental retardation.

The better the ship you get to go deeper into areas of space determine the amount of life and terrain you will encounter.

If you get a beast of a ship, you will most definitely be able to find planets with dinosaurs bigger than fucking houses.

Also really weird fucked up things you would never have dreamt of.

This game only rewards you on your patience and ability to use your enviroment to it's full potential and gather everything you need.

I'll rape a planet or two in a few hours now, but still find planets I can spend hours on without getting bored.

This game isn't for 2 second attention span children and never will be. It's literally not made for this generation of "gamers" and I hope they don't try to turn it into something else with MP.

As far as I'm concerned they could have just kept the game single-player, because MP attracts the worst crowds of people.

Looks cool. Give it another few updates and I'll buy it.

One more big update and another price drop and I'll buy it

I'd play this over ASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA any day of the week

I'll usually avoid memebandwagoning but I'll have to give you your (you).

You are seriously saying that game about shooting laser to a slightly differently shaped rock than on previous planet "isn't for 2 second attention span children"? There is still nothing to do in the game and it is my biggest buyers remorse.

I never expected it to be my final space game if you know what I mean, but goddamn. Expect nothing and think of the worst case scenario behind the marketing hype and it's still less than that jesus fucking christ.

>Also really weird fucked up things you would never have dreamt of.
go away sean your game is shit

cancer detected

>Buying this after all of Sean Murrays shit

I remember finding and wandering around on balastrackanostreya (or whatever the fuck it was called), felt eerie as shit

The fire rises

Stop going to planets with high temperature

>No Man's Sky

>Sean Murrays shit

You do realize Sony pushed them to release basically an unfinished game because Sony needed to get a quick game under it's belt because they literally had fuck all at the time and people were beginning to wonder what the fuck was up

Game should have just been released recently instead of when it was, fucking Sony made them out to be a AAA studio when they literally came from making games like Joe Danger.

Anyone with half a fucking brain could see that they aren't a AAA developer and deserved what they got for believing an indie game was more than that.

professionally speaking there is still no good reason for him to have continued on with his announcements the way that he did.

Fuck off you nigger shill, I can literally sense you from your writing style.

Jesus tapdancing Christ, someone just fucking put Hello Games out of their misery already.

I respect them for not abandoning the game entirely (and they most certainly could have)

No Man Would have even noticed.

>How much interaction is there with other people playing No Man's Sky?
>Those were AI, those Wingmen, but you could encounter other players. The reality is, the likelihood of that is tiny basically.

>Will you be able to play with your friends?
>Yeah
>Can you grief other players
>Yeah, a little bit.
He shouldn't have kept making announcements like this then, so yes, Sean Murrays shit.

No

theyre adding multiplayer in another update. They literally just said they were testimg it. Why is Sup Forums so fucking dumb?

dinosaurs are in the game. Ive seen them before, as big as the ones in the trailer.

It's a year too late. Any interest is long gone.

>too late
you sound like a teenage girl. Its never too late for a team to turn a game around.

I would play launch day NMS over Andromeda but that doesn't make NMS good.

Decided to pick it up for $20 on Amazon. This looks closer to the game that should have shipped at launch. I'm not really in the mood to play it immediately, though. I may just put it on the backburner and wait for more updates. On another note, can anyone tell me if this runs at 30 or 60 FPS on the base PS4?

>Sean Murray basically turns off social media so he can avoid having to answer any questions about his shitshow of a game
>but now he's releasing an update everything's fine

Yeah, nah, fuck off

I'm surprised that Sony still hosts their videos. I thought they were pissed at Sean

Finally looking like it might be worth picking up.
I'm hoping this isn't the last big update. They've done some pretty cool stuff with the last few, each one makes it more like a full game than the last.

I can at least respect Hello Games for not abandoning it. Even with this, though, I don't think its anywhere near complete yet.

>multiplayer is just floating orbs
i mean the game is boring enough to play, why the hell would anyone want to just watch someone play it

Was gonna try it but realised subnautica is cheaper

lmao the ''multiplayer'' is just some shitty floating orbs.

I will wait for the next big update. Graphics are still ugly.

Yeah and the patch is 7 GB. Check your facts.

The damage to this games reputation is already done. The niche will be playing but the masses that bought the game that Hello Games are going to want to try and win back will show very little interest, if any, at this point. Good luck to them for trying to salvage this mess.

Instead of either of those, why not pick up a copy of Battleborn or ten? It's a great, BADASS game!

Sony knew this was a flop and still sold it as their next big exclusive. Wake up you sheep.

>Its never too late for a team to turn a game around.
What about for Battleborn? God knows Randy tried his hardest to keep his game alive and relevant after the 1-year mark despite being demolished by the competition from the start.

Do the alien creatures still look like a Frankenstein mess?

Would play this if my toaster allowed it.

what comp does nms have? Other shitty early access games on steam? People want no mans sky to be good and continued support. It was rancid at launch but even then you can see some potential if they had updated it and they already have twice with no sign of stopping. It actually resembles a game now.

Pretty much this. No Man's Sky will never get any amount of general positive press or hype again. Which is fine, it made a fucking huge amount of money. Its a mark of some amount of integrity that Hello Games is at least trying to make it worth that amount of dosh.

>what comp does nms have?
Every finished game released one year ago to today

You know what i meant, im talking about the genre

>It actually resembles a game now.
I like my games to resemble a game at launch.
