I love Megaman but don't really like RPGs. Is this series worth getting into? I've played a bit of BN1 somewhat (got past Number Man), and I'm loving the combat but I don't like the dungeon stuff, and the story is juvenile

It's barely an RPG so yes
It's not even an RPG.
You're probably better off just skipping to 2 or 3. The gameplay gets much better but the story remains just as vapid and boring.
Yeah just skip the two best ones in the series.
He suggeseted skipping TO 2&3
Yep, I'm retarded. Read it too fast. My bad.
>story
It was made aimed at japanese children during a time cellphone were all the rage, similarily to Digimon.
It grows into you though, especially when EXE starts to parallel it's original universe (Evil Energy used to create Dark Chips, for example).
Rockman.EXE WS is a retelling of this with classic Mega Man controls.
The first game is a bit awkward in terms of gameplay and dungeon design, some people skip the first one altogether, but the later games, especially 2, 3, and 6, polish it to be smooth and enjoyable
As for the seriousness of the plot, it varies depending on how far into each game you are, just enjoy it for what it is, and look up stuff on pixiv if you ever want something more
I was a skeptic at first too, and now it's one of my favorite game series aside from the other megaman series
>the story is juvenile
So was the classic Mega Man. BN is just a mirror what-if world in which Dr. Light went for Networks (and got laid) instead of robots, while Wily's Robot Master proposal got rejected.
6=3>2>5>4>1
It's an action game with a card-based weapon system and hit points. It's less of an RPG than Zelda.
The sequels make the combat much better, dungeons somewhat better, but the story will always be juvenile crud. Still, the quality leap from 1 to 2 is massive all things considered, and if you find 1 enjoyable, 2 will certainly feel great if not downright excellent.
>4 > 1
I will never get over how fucking wrong this is.
A slightly more polished battle system does not make up for the extremely tedious gameplay and endless repetition.
3 is the best "dungeons" and difficulty but is a bit of a mess.
6 has the most refined combat by a mile and has tons of fun extra, but the campaign is anemic.
2 is the most balanced entry.
1 is possibly the best in terms of structure, but the battle system is archaic and the regular net maps are awful.
5 is like 3 but with bad SRPG missions, worse maps, and less meaningful content.
>slightly more polished battle system
It's heaven and earth in comparison.
It could play like DMC3 for all I care, the actual content is fucking dogshit.
You are a shallow whore for letting grayed out icons, some dumb fusion forms and more interesting chips take precedence over basic fucking game design.
What is a more basic, more important part of game design than fucking gameplay?
posting best girl
...
theres so little fucking art of roll soul rockman
It's a damn shame, I think I've saved everything I could find but it's not much
wrong
Scenario.
Level design.
Engagement.
DMC4 is slightly less satisfying than DMC3 because its level design isn't as good. In the same vein, BN4's scenarios are fucking DOGSHIT. I don't care if the gameplay is slightly better, dealing with Video Man's garbage or that shitty little chef brat isn't fun.
...
gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
...
There's nothing better than the original, anyway.
First one is okay but the others just feel like more of the same. Plus some of the bosses in 2 are arbitrarily shitty.
...
Has there ever been a bigger video game blunder than MMBN6's crisis music looping forever in the post game? I don't think so.
...
see
Not even close, fags.
I think people tend to forget how shit Slashman and Bubbleman's scenarios/dungeons were.
I'd say the removal of the post-game in 6 for the English release was the bigger blunder

I guess talking about the games is over now.

wew whoops, howd that happen
>Apple has Siri
>Microsoft has Cortana
If Capcom gave us our own Roll.exe I'd forgive them for everything they've done to the franchise.
What's your favorite chip?
Not with modern capcom I wouldn't
...
>dat lack of ass
>liking ass
found the nigger
just imagine you could program a navi to have basically unlimited guts, so you could slash them open and just keep tearing out organs and intestines and since its digital it would be like a portal and just endlessly disembowel them
dont need to be fat, just in inverse, yo
>gay pedo niggas
is there such a thing, honestly?
...
But that's what actual Roll is for
The story in all of the games is bad. The main appeal is the battle system (this only gets good in BN3) and exploring the internet.
3 and 6 are the best games in the series. 1 and 2 are worth a quick playthrough just to get to grips with the mechanics, characters etc.
nah man heres the real ass

Rollu
If you haven't played 4.5, you can't even begin to comprehend who canon best girl is.
Didn't know there would be this many fags in a BN thread.
>a series about mostly boys in what appears to be skin tight spandex
it is a mystery
...
That's every MM thread.
Besides Legends. But you know. Dead series.
...
>Global rule 10: No spamming or flooding of any kind.
The many boys just make the girls look better in comparison, though.
Even modern Capcom, I would.

Posting best main theme.
All other versions are objectively inferior.
I love the series. I don't know if x series, legends, or battlenetwork is my favorite
why is mega man so good and so forgotten by normies?
>STOP POSTING VIDEOGAME PICTURES IN THE VIDEOGAME BOARD
the entire megaman series is a dead series, bruh
It does that in like half of these games and I hate it.
...
Skip battle network 1, you aren't missing much and the gameplay only improves from here
BN2 and 3 are the best games out of the 6 and you can start with either
BN4 is extremely flawed in so many differerent ways (namely, having to beat the game MULTIPLE times to get to the post-game)
BN5 changes the formula with liberation missions but the core gameplay is the same
BN6 goes back to the BN2-3 times and is a good game
Touche.
We still have our fun though as long as there are people to remember this series;_;
Meiru the best!
This guy needs to make more stuff.
>you will never play a BN game that has actual net battles
why even live
...
>he hasnt heard
I HAVEN'T HEARD WHAT
>I'll never be 12, downloading the anime from kazaa lite again.
haha gotcha
>6 games
>still never fought Glide
I never understood that.
He seemed to exist solely to job once a game
Rude!
>chrono x's new demo has been delayed for 3/4th's of a year so far, and at this rate the game will be finished in the 2020s
>no idea when the next update for Shanghai exe will arive, or if it even will have net functions implemented
heh
>long hair
Roll.exe actually has short hair. That long flat yellow thing is actually part of the helmet.
They are ashamed of legends for some reason even though its best series
doesn't make my dick any less hard
I thought it was because he wasn't really a fighting Navi.
Shame on you, tugging that user's heart like that after we've been NEVER EVER'd for so long
what messed up navi would you make? id make a flying bird navi afraid of heights
then why did 5head join in on most of the tournaments every game?
Someone's gotta be BN's jobber.
it was the easy snipe
DiscoMan.exe, have his head be a disco ball and his entire fight music themed with Megaman constantly avoiding the deadly disco dance floor.
As for a navi based on a classic counterpart, I'd have to say either Sunstar from MMV because he's got a ton of moves for a final boss in Mega Man or Sheep Man from MM10 because he's already got that cyberworld vibe in his stage.
