Thinking about getting one of these on finance. Give me reasons why I should and why I shouldn't. The only thing stopping me right now is I don't need more credit.

Dumb phoneposter.

Need a good rig
Good internet for any multiplayer games
Good house size for some games

dont
vr is a fad
vr is gay
vr is already dead

Vr porn is neat

Software support is terrible
Almost certainly a new hardware revision coming soon

At work, nothing going on right now. Not that you'd know about having a job you neet neckbeard autist.

At least wait for the hardware revision.

Only reason i could think of is the release of generation 2 HMDs but those should honestly be 1-2 years away at least considering the hardware requirements. Even just a 30% increase in pixel density would require something like a 1080 minimum.

Well my rig is good but it's not amazing so maybe it would be a good idea to buy before the hardware revision?

Using credit you're going to pay a lot more for it interest if you can't pay it off right away. Save up then decide if you want it and pay cash.

I get the feeling you came here hoping for some encouragement to order the stuff and that combined with your idea to buy with credit makes me think you should just chill with the purchase and wait. Otherwise the oculus rift is like half the price now if you can deal with the facebook data mining shit.

I don't really get the appeal in vr outside of driving and flying sims. Anything else and you're basically a flying head, so damn immersive

>on finance

Debt is slavery

so you want to get in debt over hardware which is barely ready for consumer use
less than 20 worthwhile games and you need a hefty rig to even get decent performance
reconsider and also the as a viveman i can tell you: no way fag

>potentially buying into betamax/LaserDisc
Until the industry stops fucking about and works on a unified model there's no reason to risk the dosh. Especially since the only major content producers are porn that you can just as easily watch on any number of cheap workarounds to get the same visuals.

The porns fucking great, google cm3d2

valve has done exactly that, the framework is ready but it will another few years before it really catches on

>another few years before it really catches on
I'll believe it when it happens. Valve are smart enough and have enough money to stick it out and work for an open platform, but companies have a way of turning stupid on a dime and burning down their own hard work.

well i got a vive and many others is considering it, but we dont have THAT one system seller yet
meanwhile i will fuck around with rec room

You need to try vrchat, you can upload your own models, ie anime girls.

you should because it's the first consumer generation of something that will become big when the prices gets more afordable

you shouln't because it's the first consumer generation and it will become cheaper and better with time, there will also be more content then

so if you have financial problems, doesn't worth, just wait few years, I bought mine previous year for 950€ taxes and shipping, and oculus it's for 450$ right now

i tried bu im 2shy5you

Why would you even consider the Vive over the Rift if you're on some kind of budget? It's like twice the price. I could buy ten right now without even using credit, and I'm still on the fence about whether it's worth it or not.

Need a beastly PC
Need separate room just for VR setup
No games other than meme simulators (job simulator, range simulator, etc), and tech demos (things that look and feel great but are 1-2 hours long, with absolutely no replayability).
Vive is somewhat uncomfortable, not as uncomfortable as Oculus, but also not as comfortable as PSVR - middle ground.

on the upside:
360/180 VR porn is great
watching regular movies in virtual theater is great once you get past the slightly shittier quality

I really hope that stupid fucking card game Valve announced isn't on of those 3 VR games they've been working on.

>Need separate room just for VR setup
You don't have a lounge room? I've used one in my mates house and he lives in a coffin apartment, but since 90% of games just require you to stand in a single spot unless a window is within arms reach you're fine. If you can use a wii you can use a VR headset.

I bought the rift on sale.

It's neat.
In fact it's actually really fucking cool.

But it's novelty cool.

Not worth getting if you can't actually afford to blow money on dumb shit.

Not yet anyway.

I'd like to go all out and enjoy the VR porn.

Too bad I have a roommate. That's what's stopping me from trying out an onahole too

theres the "summer of rift" right now until 21th. you can still get rift + touchcontrollers for only 399$ or 450€. its now or never.

no games just tech demo shit

In my opinion, credit should be used only on things that will make you more money. A VR headset will not make you money, in fact, it will do the opposite very quickly. More than likely you will go back to your desktop monitor and leave the VR headset to collect dust. Just wait a few more years until they're affordable and you don't have to use credit.
