I've been playing it almost everyday since they fixed matchmaking. It used to take 3+ minutes to find a match, now it's under a minute

This is what infuriated me as well and I don't think it's the servers fault. You kill someone with the railgun and at they same time they also kill you with another hitscan weapon. They use a RL and you already strafejumped behind a corridor and you just die as their RL hits the wall. How the fuck can 30 year old games have a better netcode.

Graphics have nothing to do with client and server interaction or latency. The only graphical thing that a server cares about is physics that have to be realtime updated with the position to every client - none of which exists in QC. Educate yourself in programming first.

The thing is that it can be inferior to previous Quake games but still miles better than everything else out there
