>people decided to invent sick GDI walkers instead of sissy tanks
I cannot not like it but it sure as hell isn't going to be good.
>realism faggots
Are you fucking stupid or am I taking some kind of shitposting turing test?
LOL everything is cooler with robots am I right? haha
that mech looks like its going to fall over
>RTS
*yawn* call me when it's a new open world game with fetch quests.
it really is
Looks good, but the fact that it has that company of heroes esque to it makes we worry.
I'm ok with cute girls as long as there's no niggers. The game is devoid of the negro specimen, correct?
>shoot cannons at enemy
>recoil knocks you over, immobilizing you permanently
It's an RTS,
It's also a console multiplat.
no switch version
>misleading pic
>RTS top down garbage
No thanks.
I mean... Yeah, you kinda are.
>alt-history Eastern Europe 1940's
No shit.
>implying COH is bad in any fucking way
>RTS top down garbage
This is the absolute state of this god forsaken board. Fucking kill yourself.
This looks DOA since its going to be designed for consoles as well.
>Console RTS
Fuck that.
It would play better as a Men of War style game. It handles vehicle damage way better than CoH
As if there haven't been recent AAA games that have brown people and women where they have no right to be. Tell me how it's not a valid question
well there were RTS for consoles which worked well, Warzone 2100 for example
So it can be decent
A bit excited not going to lie
We need more giant robots games of every genre
This isnt an AAA game though
That's a nice aesthetic I like it a lot.
It reminds me of the earth in Turn A.
people seem to forget that AA exist
So an indie game isn't more likely to have that bullshit in it?
This is true, but its going to be more like coh if this shit is intending to release on consoles.
Hopefully it turns out alright, but rts on console sounds like a terrible idea and going to make it play dumbed down.
so they made a game based on this guy's art?
>1940's
It says 2 years after the great war in the video and at the end it says 1920 you dipshit.
They basically hired him to do concept art and stuff
looks great
I wish a game like WoT but in this universe would exist, though
Oh god is that Sytche board game?
This was a great tbs game in the same vein.
>rts
nice
>on consoles too
kek
Yes. It is set in the same world as the boardgame Scythe, that has tons of that art.
Some of the factions are returning.
I've followed this guy for a long time and never actually thought the game would come.
Terrible writing.
This dude literally makes the same painting over and over
>human figure in foreground doing mundane things
>random mech in the background
Fuck legs. This is cooler.
>scroll down to comments
>already war between CoH vs MoW vs basebuilding
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Hype as fuck until I saw it's coming to consoles as well. Cautiously awaiting more info.
Literally this.
This thread has made me look into the Scythe board game and that looks really cool and probably will try to get my hands on it.
>RTS
It tells about Polish-Soviet war that erupted early Interwar.
And it's even made by Polish lads, so no multi-color hair diversity officers there.
if they wanted to do cross platform should've gone with TBS.
Works great on whatever system
still a bit excited tho
Thanks, that's all I wanted to know
>Console RTS
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Many good RTS also had console releases and ports.
Why devs and publishers do this when it never works is the better question.
CnC3 had decent port
>>Many good RTS also had console releases and ports.
Such as? Name one.
So it's Scythe in video game form?
Scythe is overhyped crap, there's little to no interaction between players. Everyone is playing a solo game.
oh... :(
Wasnt that the board that game that tricked everyone and it turned out to be a farming simulator with mechs in the background
>dieselpunk
instant buy, idgaf what genre it is or if it's even good or not
Starcraft, RUSE, C&C games, World in Conflict, Universe at War...
So its not actually a good board game?
Cool premise, but is guaranteed shovelware.
I'm worried about it being on consoles too, but it looks neat.
YES
>no multi-color hair diversity officers there
Those aren't even necessary with Polish devs, as proven by Witcher 3 and Observer.
SC, early C&C, and WiC all had trash ports years later, not simultaneous releases. Ruse, UaW, and nuC&C are fucking trash.
>Battle for Middle Earth1&2 and that non-movie one
>EndWar
>Dune
And there are also those mutations that everyone forgotten about like Battalion Wars or Battlestations.
>Ruse, UaW, and nuC&C are fucking trash.
Get fucked nigger
UaW had great mechs by the way
>Isometric
Aaaand dropped.
>If you ask me, GET READY TO FIGHT!
Designs look cool, real shame I won't have any actual control over them and it'll just be me clicking on tiny models and moving them around just like I've done a billion times before
>all these 90s shallow trash bog standard RTS
This isn't even an RTS, thank God, it's an RTT, like Men of War. Consoles can't handle proper complexity, why the fuck do people want to go back to shit like healthbars on war machinery?
It's decent, but don't play it if you want to have fights. It's area control and resource management with interesting action upgrade mechanism. You basically want to fight twice in the game, unless you're the faction that can keep getting points from fighting.
>poormans HZD
top fucking lel
>be about to fall over
>shoot cannons at the enemy
>recoil sets the mech upright
wrf are you talking about.
Welcome to modern European art, where everybody is a one trick pony. Simon Stålenhag is an even bigger culprit
>Still no Tenra Bansho Zero game
Why are these devs dragging their fucking feet?
you seem to imply that they are not building stuff like that IRL to this very day.
Looks extremely good.
>more japanese mechashit
I'm cautiously but genuinely hyped. Yes, it's on consoles too, but so was Supreme Commander, which I still love and think is one of the best and heaviest duty RTS of all time. Being on x86 consoles doesn't inherently mean the engine can't scale much, much farther on the PC. It's a note of caution sure, but even so:
- Aesthetic is solid.
- World is already developed and also solid. Being based on a bretty gud boardgame with a pretty cool set of history and time period that inherently works really well for an RTS is a positive note in my opinion.
- Pre-alpha engine of course doesn't tell us much, but they do seem to want to use at least some physics in there.
The potential is always there to fuck stuff up, but RTS gets little love these days and this looks like a promising possibility at this stage. In other genres I'd probably be more "whatever" but to do this at all and not some FPS or tactical or moba or whatever is by itself an inherently good sign, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.
I hope they actually do an ambitious RTS, that it has a good campaign, and that they avoid going either full retro with shit mechanics AND trying to make a not-RTS that "appeals to everyone", no "we want the starcraft audience" please for god's sake. Also no F2P. We'll see.
That looks great.
>Some obscure but extremely popular Jap-only RPG.
Oh well...
except for the part where it is an RTS for PC and consoles.
What's wrong with that? Command & Conquer, Starcraft and SupCom were all fantastic.
It's in English
Still very obscure in English-speaking countries though
That's right.
what a fucking kindergarden
I'm mildly hopeful. They seem to be heavily inspired by CoH, which is good imo.
I'm sure I'll get flamed for saying this but I've never found SC to be very enjoyable as it ends up having a ridiculous focus on apm and how quickly you can deploy a predetermined strategy and how quickly you can see what strategy your opponent is using in order to try and counter it.
CoH has been a style of rts I truly enjoy on the other hand, so I'm very hopeful. Relic used to make great games but I think coh2 (despite all its flaws) will be their last good game. I don't see how a studio of pink shirt wearing SJWs can ever return to the quality old Relic produced.
Anyway, I'm hopeful that they can capture that coh style and improve on it where Relic has failed.
And they were all so unsuccessful and unloved that other RTS became factually dumbed down to be more broadly appreciable.
See the most successful and memorable RTS on consoles, Halo wars, which is such a sorry excuse for an RTS even with mouse and keyboard.
I'm so sorry we can't all only appreciate SERIOUS video games for SERIOUS THINKERS like yourself. It's a good thing you're here to tell everyone about your vast intelligence and sophistication.
This is my concern. Idk how they can manage the micro coh provides when they're building it for consoles too.
Kind of limited to one or the other really.
Starcraft and Company of Heroes are literally the same in this regard.
You're just a shitter who has never learned how to play CoH properly.
> Realism
been following this one for a while and I'm pretty hyped. I like what I've seen so far, but I just hope the game doesn't get dumbed down for console controls.
>Starcraft
>SupCom
>C&C
>STARCRAFT
>unsuccessful
I cannot even tell if I'm being baited, you're being sarcastic, or you're just retarded.
you have to be trolling
Randomness and unit micro alone provides an element of luck and player skill that is outside of pure apm that reigns in SC.
Looks amazing.
>when the smaller mech bayonet charges the big one
Ready for some Superior German Engineering?
>Randomness and unit micro
Hate to break it to you, smart cookie.
Brood War has both of these things. Shooting uphill gives you a 40% chance of missing. Units in cover (doodads on maps, trees, shit like that) also get like a 30% evasion chance.
Excessive unit micro is what exemplifies Starcraft and the fact the pathfinding is about as predictable as a bunch of lunatics locked up in an asylum only adds to the randomness.
>rts
lmao dead genre
underrated opinion
>not going darwinist
>not literally breeding your carriers and tanks
Point at this clanker and laugh.
>ITT idiots can't understand the difference between an RTS made for consoles and PC and an RTS made for PC that was later ported to consoles
Nu/v/
The 1920 setting and the concept art by Jakub are cool, but a mediocre RTS that releases for consoles is probably not gonna do it justice.
I don't get why people are so excited just based on "I RECOGNIZE THAT THING"
What is this? The age where the wheel was never invented?
Art direction is top notch. They nailed both the excessiveness of dieselpunk and the gritness that was the first world war. Units don't look like grunts rushing for waypoints, they all have their inertia and weight. Sounds effects too are good. Gameplaywise, destructable covers, terrain and bullet physic seems to add way more depth to the game. It's definitevely a rts that will reward positioning instead of sheer numbers.
Looking forward.
>Still no proper English release for Full Metal Daemon Muramasa
>No more actual games from the series with actual combat as the Tsurugis
I just want giant samurai robot duels mang
