So are you going to get it, Sup Forums? It's only $30

So are you going to get it, Sup Forums? It's only $30.

New yakuza i dont understand

I preordered the steelbook for less

Sup Forums told me it's shit

A remastered of Yakuza 1.

Of course. I'd buy it full price too since Zero revamped my hope in vidya. Reminds you what having fun in a game means. Even tho I suck at hobo camp games except for the dice one. I just skip all the rules and try to find my own strategy. /end blogpost

how much time left before pc ports?

When PS4 emulation will be ready

Preordered, Kiwami 2 when?

This. I've had it pre-ordered and paid off at gamestop for over a year now.

I don't read moon, is this a sequel to Rapelay?

>Wheres Majima?
>THERE HE IS!

It's remake. Literally how hard is it to understand a difference?

>Buying the version without "LETS KILL THIS ARROGANT MOTHERFUCKER!"

No thanks.

Please tell me they dropped the shooting section

>Paying off a game a year in advance
Hello retard!

Did you play 0?

I literally have $900 worth of gamestop store credit from trading in old things several years ago. Its no skin off my back if I pay early or not since I can just cancel and move the money to something else on launch day if I choose to. I literally haven't used hard cash on a videogame in 4 years.

I'm getting it with blue reflection but that one its release until the end of september

No I don't think so.

The majima everywhere system seems retarded and probably clashes with the story of the game.

It's a remake that uses an already enstablished formula, you should know what to expect

wait what.
did i miss somehing? Why is preordering a game you know you're gonna get retarded?

Definitely. I've never played Yakuza 1 and 30 bux is okay for a remake.

Honestly i don't know how to feel about the majima everywhere thing, is it really going to be annoying like with fights everytime or is it going to be just some fights here and there ?

Maybe, I dunno. 0 looks interesting too because of the setting but man Yakuza 5 was such a snore I couldn't even finish it.

Pre-ordered already. Looking forward to it except for the Jingu fight.
>inb4 Jingu fight is easy git gud
Fuck you and fuck Jingu.

Just pre-ordered it.
Not a fan of preorders, but I get shit on Amazon now and this game's a known quantity.
Almost bought Mario and Rabbids too, but idk, that thing could definitely turn out to be shitty.

Its no different than Mr Shakedown in 0. Just keep a vigilant eye.

You level up your dragon of dojima style by beating majima so I don't think they can be everywhere.

What puzzles me is that how the fuck are you going to level up dragon of dojima during the part of the story where majima is wounded and out of the picture for a huge chunk of the main plot.

>Mr Shakedown in 0
Oh, then it's pretty good news mr shakedown was kinda fun and easy to avoid when necessary, thanks for the answer.

i already played the 1st one so no

of course

If I can get it for a good price.

I haven't even played the others yet.

>I havent played the others yet.

All the more reason to get the remake of the first then, eh?

What's the best game in this series what is the worst?

I need to buy a PS4 and I am not in the best place financially right now so I can't.

>Best
0 so far.
>Worst
3. Enjoy playing babysitter for half the game.

Sorry but 6 took the spot for worst game in the series

When it comes to PC, I'm there

>>Worst
>3. Enjoy playing babysitter for half the game.
Comfy Okinawa setting tho

Yeah I suppose that's solid enough reasoning.

fuck off with this shit, NO ONE here has played it

Whats the Likelihood of Kiwami 2?

I want HD Goda

i've played it and unlike all these fags i actually really loved it

i preordered 5 but i don't have a ps4 yet so i won't be preordering this one. but i will buy it as soon as i get a ps4 and finish 0

>Preordered 5
What? 5 is digital only unless you're rice.

?
yakuza 5 is getting a physical release in na

Whaaa? For what, PS4?

do you mean 6?

well whatever you want to call paying for a game before it is released, that's what i did

yakuza fans were more worried back then, because 5 took so long to be localized. so people supporting it meant more. sega has been getting better at bringing the games over, now we just need the franchise to come to pc

After playing through Yakuza 0, I feel like a remake for the older games would be a great choice. Too bad localization takes too fucking long so by the time Yakuza 2 remake gets an NA release, the PS3 emulator will be running perfectly.

Kiwami 2 and 3 4 5 as a Collection on PS4 when

i want to get into the yakuza series but i heard they fucked up the localization of one of the games and basically removed content.
its really hard to support that

>removed content

Hostess Club stuff I think

yakuza 2 is on ps2, you can already emulate it

3 had a bunch of content changed/removed, the other games are fine.

You won't be supporting them if you spend your money on a second hand game, they won't be getting 'supported' in a way. But if you're gonna drop it because of that then you don't deserve to play this amazing series.

It was Yakuza 3 and ONLY that game

Definitely. I'm new to Yakuza, not long since I got 0 and I'm having a fuckin blast. I wish I got into these games sooner.

Yeah I know, all I'm saying is that it takes too long to come out so waiting for emulators feel like a better choice.

they removed mahjong too right?
with it being a ps3 game and ps3 emulation suddenly becoming a thing, maybe the game will get fixed eventually

Played through all of the localized games in order last year, one of the best gaming experiences ever seeing this game evolve through gameplay and characters

I think with 0 is the best way to start. It introduces you to the characters and some of the backstory.

Man, Kiryu's chapter was intriguing and fun in 5. Saejima's is also great so far (Still in the prison) and it feels a lot more involved compared to 4's Saejima, plus he feels like a better character. Have one question though, Kiryu acts like he knows an Aizawa at the end of his part, was this meant to be unexplained or did I meet him for like a minute or two and just forgot? Because he acted like he knew him and he was an important character.

It was only in 3. They removed the hostess clubs but left the hostesses in so it's really jarring doing their substories, removed shogi and mahjong (and Answer x Answer but it would be next to impossible for foreigners since that game is a quiz game based around current Japanese events and trends at the time), removed several substories like the English teaching one and the classic suicidal dude and his girlfriend, and a bunch of other stuff.

One guy was looking into actually getting someone to retranslate 3 (I think it was the same guy behind the Kenzan translation patch) but he said either no one wanted to do it because 3 was already translated or they wanted to translate it but localize it massively to the point of insanity (Think "Eat your hamburgers, Apollo" level) and the problem with the official localization is all over the place (Mame the dog is called "Rex" despite the doghouse saying マメ and everyone calling it Mame which is the most apparent thing that comes to mind).

oh man
the climax of saejima's chapter is great, but holy fuck it drags hard.

And?

Yeah, the prison feels really long right now. It's been at least an hour of sleuthing right now and I'm only at the tail end of the Baba stuff. Not sure I like Saejima's special being that leg throw though, it's not as useful as Kiryu's invulnerability move. They did not need that imagination thing where you date a hostess though, holy crap did that feel like it took forever.

no, that's not what i'm talking that drags on.
trust me, you'll know what i mean when you're there.

>still got memey dialogue
twitch.tv(slash)salman177
someone has been streaming it for a few hours now. So far, the styles have all been nerfed and dragon of dojima is literally not worth using until you beat majima about 20 times

Got the reprints of 1 & 2 for PS2, and 1 is a blast once to get used the last gen controls. I understand now why everyone says the games are best played in order of release. it's a proper build up.

...

fuck off MVK yakuza 2 is the best in the series

How would you rank the series?

aizawa and morinaga are daigo's bodyguards in yakuza 5

>removed mahjong
this was the most sinful betrayal. hostess club can go fuck itself, but don't touch my mahjong

2>ishin>0>3>kenzan>1>4>5>6

Yeah, I know Morinaga was one since they showed him a bunch but I don't remember an Aizawa at all in Kiryu's part.

im still on the fence because i know this game wont have the breakdance fighting style

aizawa is the big guy for kiryu

Ah, there we go. I was wracking my brain because I only remembered the right guy and kept forgetting the left one's name. Thanks man.

>2 at the top
Opinión discarted. Can't believe Yakuza fans when is just a polished Y1 with the same shit writing and characters.

0 is the only great game in the series.

Are 4, 5, and 6 even worth playing?

t.started with 0
2 has the fastest combat in the series and is the last one where the characters are written like they have actual dimensions. You don't see kiryu being a morally grey character in any game after this.

yes
they're all still great games, but you should take a break after each game because you'll get burnt out.

4 and 5 at least have the redeeming factor of at least one character in the entire mess having decent gameplay. 6 has shitty combat where all your moves feel like they have no impact, knock enemies away all the time and enemies can block and completely throw off your combos. Combine that with a shitty story that spends more time pandering to the chinese than actually being a yakuza game and you have one shitty yakuza game

I started with 1, nostalgia fuckboi. Y2 story and characters are shit, is just that after Y3 they're beyond shit, so this one seems good in retrospect, but is the same low tier japanese soap opera trash.

You play Yakuza for the wackyness and to feel like a boss, not for the dumbster tier characterization.

>Y1
>shit writing and characters

I don't think so.
Still I'd like to try a Yakuza, I'll go for 0 someday, the 80's vibe really appeals me.

>5 lower than 3 and 1
No fucking way, I refuse to believe that

>Japanese soap opera
Yakuza has and always literally been a Cop/detective drama from the view of the syndicate Don't act like it suddenly changed from 1. If you just want to beat people up thats fine, but the detective/noire angle is a staple of the series and always has been. "Fuckboi"

>This shit taste

0 > 1 > 4 > 2 > 5 > 3 > 6

>MO
>THER
>FU
>CKER
Fixed.

Sega already said the PC ports are coming so I'll wait for that.

>Play Y4
>They finally changed Fuma's name back to Kazama and changed Rex's name back to Mame
>Kage The Florist is still around

sauce

I honestly hate that they changed it. I know that kazama is his real name, but its way too fucking close to Kazuma. Fuma at least let you differentiate them.

Yep, I started with Zero and I loved it.

but they're different parts of the name
shintaro kazama
kazuma kiryu
both are supposed to be referred to by their last names anyway so it shouldn't confuse you that much
