Nah we already have FH

sure why not I'm getting tired of nothing but shooters, we need a comeback of racing and platformers

anything.

Absolutely, sumo digital should make outrun 3 and revive arcade racers.

>we need a comeback of racing
Forza Motorsport, Horizon, PCars, Assetto Corsa, Mario Kart
>and platformers
set the date for 10/27/17, the GOAT is coming.

Why do revive the genre if two of the greatest arcade racing games are already on the stores?

>3/5 racing games listed are boring simcade shit

Arcade racing games are pretty much dead

All the "arcade" racers these days are either open world or kart racers, I just want straightforward track design, feel-good handling, and awesome tunes.
Speaking of which, Namco should revive Ridge Racer as well.

Eh. Not really. It doesn't exactly have a huge specific setting that makes it especially worthy as an IP unlike say TES or No One Lives Forever.

You can just make an arcade racer and call it "Racing Rampage" or something and it wouldn't really lose anything from not being called Outrun. The label doesn't really add anything.

5 racing games, now how many shooters are about to come out? shit's oversaturated m8

Ok but MK8 an FH3 are two of the greatest arcade racing games ever, so yeah the genre is pretty much healthy and alive

>The label doesn't really add anything.
Can't use Magical Sound Shower if it's not Outrun.

Yeah but you can just play it in the background while racing.

Go play some of the old gems then, I can't see your problem actually.
And no, Ridge Racer was utterly disgusting. I'm so glad that it's dead now.

Fuck yes, it should. At the very least put fucking Coast to Coast back on Steam, you fucking assholes. I had to pirate that shit and it took no less than 3 hours to set up the controllers due to some fuckery.

Suzuki and Sumo need to team up for OutRun 3 with PSVR support fucking NOW

A dead man and a mediocre studio? No thanks.

But it has specific mechanics/level structures that make it unique. Sure another IP could use those same ideas and I'm surprised they haven't but that's true of any idea, whether that be setting, mechanic, visual style or whatever.

I for one would love to see OutRun come back.

>MK8

Bro I love MK but fuck no, SASRT was everything MK was but better. And that's a kart racer anyways, different sub genre.

Not the same, man.

Wait did Suzuki die?

Also fuck that, SASRT was the GOAT

Outrun 2019 should make a comeback in 2019

>Suzuki
>Dead

Fuck you asshole, you scared me.

>Ridge Racer was utterly disgusting.
Fuck you, Ridge Racer is one of the best racing franchises ever.
youtube.com/watch?v=pIOPZXV7I9w

This is legitimately my second favorite OutRun game after 2/2006

He's alive but his last good game was the first Virtua Fighter so yeah...
>SASRT wast the GOAT
nice meme
wtf is going on?

The original is great, so is coast 2 coast.
I dunno what else they could make. Maybe an online version? All those "rival" cars could be other players.

Fuck yeah Outrun should come back.

youtube.com/watch?v=PbrSXJNF24M

if your first and only gaming machine was Playstation then yes... maybe... I guess.

SASRT is fucking great man, that's pretty widely accepted

2 had online play.
Or just 2006, I forget.

I just want the Arcade Outrunners to be put on consoles/PC

youtu.be/rH2zAdwZZL0
>Get drunk
>Play Outrun 2006:CTC
>Do a 15 course run
>Feeling real good and calm
>Taking in the nice scenery
>Finish
>Just let the ending screen stay on and chill for a while
One thing I really appreciate is how laid back the game is. It's an arcade racer and there is a timer ticking down, but overall there is this really nice, calm atmosphere created by driving through the different landscapes.
I just want more games like that. Simple, but enjoyable gameplay and relaxing environments.

those games are shit

Wait, I know what they could do.
They could make another Outrun, graphics and gameplay as the genesis one but with other places, loads of new ones.

I've played a shit ton of arcade racers in my time and none of them have drift mechanics as satisfying as RRV.

Accepted by people who never played a Mario Kart game I guess

Name a more hype scoreboard music than this
youtube.com/watch?v=-aPMgVFn0K4

No, it's bland as shit

2006 had online play for sure. I don't think 2 or SP on the Xbox had it.
It's a fucking shame the online in 2006 isn't working. I would kill to race some Sup Forumsirgins.

how do i play this on pc

download it

C'mon now

Nothing beats playing Outrun in the arcade.

Just torrent it. 2006: Coast to Coast shouldn't be THAT hard to find. I got it running with some graphics mods not too long ago.
Only problem is that the game fucking crashes when playing outrun mode and selecting any car but the default two. There's also a somewhat minor graphical glitch of the driver model not appearing in the car. I have no idea why this happens or how to fix it. Playing the original Outrun 2SP mode fixes it, but it's still annoying.
Finding answers online is hell, because you'll only find obscure forum posts from 2008 or something. None of them listing these specific problems.

Just tell me that blue shells are better than sky tiger you absolute faggot

Overall racing mechanics are courses are also much better, sense of speed isn't even comparable.

Gotta go fast right? Pathetic and cringe, typical from a Sanic fanboi like you

thanks user didn't know it was on pc

Yes
I'm still mad they didn't release the Outrun 2 port to PC only the 2006 cost to coast

Oh yeah speed couldn't possibly be important in a fucking racing game, what was I thinking.

Note there is also a fan patch around for it as well which is worth installing.

Cant remember fully what it does but think it add some custom resolutions.

Time for a comfy run.

I play this game constantly. I would like a new OutRun but i'm completely content with OutRun 2 and OutRun 2006

Outrun 2 had online for xbox

Wasn't there supposed to be a new Daytona USA project in development?

PC port of 2006 would be fine. With the saving issue on PSP I haven't been able to fully enjoy it and it's still amazing.

I don't have any of these problems that you just listed. Maybe stop using graphics mods and play the game it was meant to be played and it'll work right for you and stop misleading people

The Outrun2FXT patch is a must have. It adds custom resolutions, rumble support, windowed mode and a bunch of other neat things.

Are you dense? This already exists?

Daytona 3 has been out in the arcades for a while now. Other than that, I don't know.

isn't it already out?

The new game is out and apparently it handles like shit.

>Forza Horizon
>an arcade racing game
>anything like Outrun at all
>anything like any arcade racing game ever
What the fuck is wrong with you people? How has the genre of arcade racer gotten this confused that people genuinely believe this shit?

Oh shit yeah that's what I was talking about.
>and apparently it handles like shit
God damn it they should have just let Sumo Digital handle it.

These issues popped up before adding the mods though. Funny thing is that the game worked flawlessly for a while, but as I made more progress it seems that the game has trouble loading outrun mode or something and just crashes on the loading screen.
I guess that's not an issues when playing Outrun 2SP mode for some reason. Maybe everything is already kind of loaded and the game doesn't have to go through the same process? I don't know the technical aspects of it, but that's my guess. Though, time trial works with any car so it's a mystery.

I torrented this game and that usually means they come with problems but this game has been running smoothly since I downloaded and have not had any graphical problems or crashes in all of the time i've been playing it. I've unlocked all the cars and used them all.

I think Outrun 3 should be a huge VR arcade cabinet.

The original was impressive, and Outrun 2 was great as well, but imagine a somewhat life sized driver seat, with a dashboard you could touch, several fans above you that are inside the machine (to simulate wind depending on the speeds you go), a gear stick and everything else that a realistic car would have.

Make the chair move left and right depending on drifts and intensity, and boom you'd have a pretty cool Outrun game.

Not sure if it's possible, or if it would be profitable, but damn it would be fun.

I may just have to reinstall. It kind of sucks, because it takes a while to unlock the later cars. I guess I can remedy it by just saving up points for one car I really want and ignore the rest, but it feels nice to have them all, plus various colours.

AND force feedback support for wheels.

>VR
The last thing I want in an Outrun game is motion sickness.

If they did something like that you just know it'd be exclusive to Japan arcades.

I'm just surprised cause I honestly never heard of anyone having problems with this game.

I'd play it if it were something like this.

You don't even need to torrent it.

Just google "Outrun 2006 PC download", and Isozone is the first place to have it.

I got it from there, and I've been having fun with it since. Plus it has none of those problems you listed.

I'm just unlucky. It seems every issue I get with a game is incredibly specific and obscure. Might be something with my PC.

>Daytona 2 will never get the treatment 1 did on last gen consoles
It's not fair bros

Yes, in 2026 and made mostly by the same team who did 2/2006 with Yu Suziki.
Fuck west. West can't into driving.

can someone rec a good racing game for toasters?

It ain't enough.

>he's never played it

Depending on how toaster we're talking here Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed is pretty good.

This looks great. I'd play it.

Rush 3 when?

how does 2 compare to coast to coast?

We need an oversaturation again

The original Hard Drivin' game is fucking hard. I used to play it all the time at the pool hall in my town. Trying to get around that loop de loop is crazy hard and taking the jumps at the right speed takes some getting used to cause you want to just floor it but if you do you hit the flat ground and crash

>he's never played an arcade racing game in his life

Basically the same game. 2006 has much more content and looks better. It also has the entire Outrun 2SP arcade game as a separate mode. 2006 has a campaign mode of sorts. It's just basic challenges like getting certain score in Heart Mode or whatever. It's not amazing, but it's there and fun for what it is.

They're the same game, Coast 2 Coast just includes Outrun 2 SP.

no this should come back instead

Fuck you people
outrun was more than just a racing game, you people have to be underaged.

>Local arcade has both Outrun 2SP and this

the arcade was good but doesnt have nearly as much pods and courses

i personally have the n64 version and for a n64 game the graphics are stunning

There has to be some way to still play 2006 online. Some fanmade program or whatever.

Yes.

>these days you either you go round around on some race track or open world
I just dream of some A to B cruisin. Autobahn, cross continental, whatever as long as the focus is on traveling some grand tour fu Gran Turismo for doing everything except delivering on your namesake.

>as long as the focus is on traveling
Fucking this. Goddamnit, why is it so hard to make a driving game where driving is in the focus, not simshit or mission structures.
Just set a destination and drive while looking at scenery and listening to the music.

I think there was something called XLink Kai in the past or something like that idk.

I've been on a huge Outrun kick for the past month. It's something that's sorely missing in today's gaming world. Cheerful, relaxing, optimism, aesthetically pleasing.

It has LAN support so theoretically you could do online multiplayer using tunneling software like hamachi, tunngle, or evolve.
