Absolutely disgusting taste, extra mode is some of the best mainline content in the series.

I'm not saying it's bad, I just didn't have as much fun with it over other Kirby games

Rainbow Curse was so disappointing, Canvas Curse is one of my favorite Kirby games both in gameplay and aesthetics.

Play extra mode my man, it's the only way to play it.

Alright, I'll give it a whirl at some point, probably after I 100% Dreamland 3

Well duh

Why the Rainbow Curse hate? It's a great game.

It really isn't, it lacked the basic gameplay of canvas curse and had the poor level design of mass attack with unresetable puzzle rooms and forced scrolling levels

>unresetable puzzle rooms and forced scrolling levels
I agree that this is a pain, but I thought it was still an enjoyable romp with wonderful aesthetics and music. Also Mass Attack is great.

Adventure is the only one I've played.

It combines mechanics from Super Star and 64, two of the most popular entries in the series. If that's not a recipe for success, I don't know what is. Plus Kirby's pretty hard to screw up.

Of course even the worst Kirby is good

My problem with it was lack of copy even Canvas curse had copy which took advantage of Kirby's situation also no playable Meta Knight or Dedede ball.

I think the clay was just for design sake but yeah no explanation on why Kirby who just lost his color only for it to be restored chose to go this adventure as a ball.

Fun Fact: This is objectively the best Kirby game

this

I'd go as far as saying this is the only good one.

I disagree, it's a very focused experience and a very fun game the whole way through. I would rather replay it than something more modern with a lot of mediocre levels. If you just don't find it that fun, that's fine.

Kirby is always at least serviceable. I'm just hoping there are more abilities this time around.

It's bad, but...

-Copy Abilities are gone. This isn't an inherently bad thing, but Kirby's fighting an uphill battle without abilities. The game seems to think that kirby is yoshi and replaces them with basically yoshi transformation segments. The 100 Star Dash is no replacement either. These stars that only meant optional 1-ups before are now suddenly required for certain things. Canvas Curse had copy abilities and they worked differently than before either inherently or when you used the paintbrush to interact with them.
-The physics are worse. In Canvas Curse, you touch dash into an enemy and plow right through them as you defeat them, maintaining momentum and carrying on your way. Rainbow Curse makes you bounce off of everything for a moment and goes slower overall.
-The trial mode is not fun, even reusing some of its own courses. Worse yet is adding arbitrary 100 percent requirements like "beat each boss without damage." Kirby games don't usually pull this kind of stuff.
-This game has bosses, which is better than Canvas Curse in theory, but you fight them twice, effectively giving the game only three bosses and the final boss. Almost all of them follow the "get 100 stars to do damage" song and dance, too. Canvas Curse's bosses had totally different gameplay styles.
-No ability to touch and stun enemies+beat while stunned. Being able to defeat enemies multiple ways and stun enemies to manage groups is both fun and useful.
-The basically smash trophies are ok, but the medal center had stuff like other characters that's not here. Also, getting the book pages wasn't really worth it.
-The final boss was awful, repetitive, and easy. Plus, you go through hell just to get to them repeatedly on no damage runs.
-100 percent=Drawcia Trophy.

I say this as someone who has played every main Kirby game and most of the spinoffs and 100 percented almost all of them. The biggest redemptive factor is the music, but even then, I wouldn't place it among the greats.

Meant to say "It's good, but..."

I don't think it's a bad game, but compared to other Kirby games, it leaves a lot to be desired.

>The Switch game is just another RtDL reskin

Kumazaki needs to be shot, or the very least fired.

Wrong.

yeah, as someone who usually doesn't care much about getting 100% in games I didn't run into most of these issues. it's definitely a more basic game than canvas curse but I think the aesthetics made up for it, and I personally loved those cute book pages.

I wish this phrase never existed

They're not bad on their own, but I had a rough time sometimes with getting them on the endwheel and I have to play a whole level again if I screw it up. Sometimes I'd have to do it just because I needed extra stars on the endwheel for the medal. Getting a children's drawing I could've looked up online without going through that for wasn't quite worth it.

zero three when?

You'll have to choke me, too, bitch.
I love the levels, but the game ends up leaving me so unsatisfied.
They gave all the modes awesome abilities, but none of them are functional. Every single enemy either dies in one hit, or gets I-frames. When I play the game I ultimately just feel like I got cucked out of all my fun. Why give copy abilities cool combo moves when they are useless?

Even though I'm not much of a Kirby fan, the anime is by far the worst thing to ever happen to the franchise.

Honestly the only Kirby game I've played was Tilt n' Tumble. I loved it.

I honestly think a few things that plague the series (If you can call it that) like waifufagging, Kirbby acting like a 2 year old and trying to be deep was all because of the anime.

Funny enough one episode made fun of people wanting to fuck Tiff.

But I somewhat like the Star Warrior backstory. It gave an interesting twist to Meta Knight's backstory in the anime, although Kirby babbling like a toddler was legit terrible. I understand Sakurai wanted his protagonist to be a mute hero, but the direction he went with was bad.

It's going to be Zero Void.

did none of the game literature before the anime explain that kirby was an infant star warrior in the way that metaknight is an adult one? This always made a lot of sense to me in the games context as well, so I'm curious if it was really only spawned by the anime.

Without a doubt, I'm one of those people who are convinced Kirby can't have a bad game. I will say though, I hope they make a new engine & get a new art style after this game, I don't mind it too much unlike others but it would be nice to have something completely new.
