I've seen a lot of folks hyping it up in these last few mania threads, but I think I like Press Garden Act 1's music better than Press Garden Act 2's.

When I was doing this one I was going so fast toward the latter half that I accidentally jumped over one of the blue spheres, continued on through the end, and the yellow sphere waiting at the end that just flings you off to some random part of the maze dropped me right next to the sphere I missed.
Yes, the entire perimeter of blue spheres is surrounded by one of yellow ones, so there might be a way to do it that doesn't involve jumping over the red sphere you've already touched, but the way I described, hitting that specific yellow sphere, will 100% take you through the entire thing without getting bounced to a set you've already done.

My favorite level design quirk in mania is that Lava Reef is piss easy with the fire shield as it was before, but the difference in Mania is that the fire shields are hidden JUST out of sight, so you feel better about yourself when you find one. Very good.
You get the satisfaction of knowing you're rougher than the rest of them

I tried to fly with Tails and accidentally transformed while grabbing him - the sprites changed to Super while the palette stayed blue

I managed to get a couple game overs on the first run, but when you get used to the game, it's fine. I think the difficulty is just right.

It probably is. Generations GHZ Act 1 also was pretty linear.
The problem is that all the focus on mania meant that they have shown very little of Forces. We barely have seen before the first stages. Possibly not even that.

PC version got booted to the 29th, though the console versions are all released by now.
Guys, there's a secret hidden ending for Knuckles. Go to "no save" and turn on debug mode and &knuckles mode, and have Knuckles selected as your character. Then HOLD Y and press + to activate stage select. (That's for the switch version, I don't know which button you have to use for PS4 and Xbox versions)
After that select the true final boss and beat it with knuckles, and you'll be treated to a hidden ending.

It melts it if you stand next to it. The spikes in press garden are also made of ice, so it melts those as well.

You don't even have to tank the electricity after a few hits because his tentacles fall off and they were nice enough to have the bottom ones come off first. Only the tentacles are electrified, not his main body.
serious quesiton. what dlc would you like to see for the game, even though it was stated that there is none confirmed?
the few I can think of are the ability to have Sonic or Knuckles as the second playable character because itd be cool to see Sonic and Knuckles playing through the stages. and... hmm, i don;t think there really is anything other than newer levels, which really wouldn t be necessary, but would be cool.
now for patches, i just want to see the transitions from level to level between each level and not just whenever they feel like it. seriously, how did they get from Little Planet's Stardust Speedway to Angel Island's Hydrocity to Little Planet's Metallic Madness? They can just show time space stuff happening again.
by the way, was mirage saloon always next to oil ocean, or is that the doing of the weird stone? It seems Mirage Saloon and Studiopolis exist on Westside Island.

I got the impression that from the top of robotniks tower of stardust speedway, sonic took a long jump down to hydrocity.
It's implied that the levels get mashed together every time robotnik uses the stone.
There's already an unlockable mode that lets you have Knuckles tag along with you if you're playing as Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles, though it's locked to the no-save mode.

Assuming Mania will only have levels from the Game Gear Games & Genesis including Chaotix besides new levels, what do you want to see in Mania 2?

And then 6 new stages would suffice. I don't know what they would be based on though, maybe some zones from Advance as inspiration.
