I thought it was pretty neat, honestly.

All of ME1, the Shadow Broker was alluded to be an organization of high-ranking information brokers with enough influence and dirt on each other that none of them could afford to turn against the organization.

It just seemed like such a shitty write-off that some feral Yahg abducted from a planet and experimented on worked its way through the ranks and eventually killed the old Shadow Broker. The idea of an organization so shady that you can completely replace the leader and not notice a change in interesting, but the actual character itself was just a letdown.
