Not him but I quite enjoyed Illbleed. It's more of a comedic game with horror elements but it is unlike anything else.

The most obscure I can think of Haunting Ground. Hits everything you're looking for. Mainstream answers would be Resident Evil Remake and 3 off the top of my head.
