It really depends on whether or not you're in a position where you wanna chip in an extra $100 for better looks and performance in some games.

Even if you own a 4k screen there isn't much use in a PS4 Pro, it doesn't output true 4k video, it's almost entirely upscaled, I think Sonic Mania is 4k, wew laddy.

Buy a PS4 Pro if you really like that logo on the front and wish you could find a way to better support the company which that logo represents.

Exclusives, that's what I bought mine for.
As far as it being worth over the standard model - if you're super short on cash than don't bother and just get Slim, but I think the Pro is actually a good buy at only 100$ more.
Think of it this way - you'll have the console for years, so you're bound to eventually get a 4k monitor/TV. You get better performance on the Pro as well.

Funny thing but exclusives are actually veery well optimized on the base model. Mostly multiplats are better and many times the difference is barely noticeable if you put them side by side. Many times it is just the pro keeps a better framerate, it doesn't mean 30 to 60 fps upgrade automatically! Just keeps the framerate steady.

Literally same boat, decided to i could just game in 4k on my pc and use the normal ps4 for the few exclusives i wanted to play. PS5 is 2 years away anythings.

it won't go anywhere till another 6-7 years. Even if the ps5 is coming out in 2-3 years it will barely have any games for a good time and the 4 will get pretty much every game it gets. If you have a pro the differences between the generations won't be that big since it's literally standing between the two.

Horizon looks slightly better, with improved texture filtering and smaller effects.
Yakuza 6 if localized before getting an optimization patch runs awful without a pro.
Bloodborne has less awful dips on Pro but still frame pacing issues.
Nioh is 1080p 60fps on Pro, 720p 60fps on normal.
Generally fewer drops in most games.

It's not significant for a console twice as expensive. You need to make the choice yourself.
