New Ataribox info in the coming weeks

>While we are not able to share a lot of technical details on the Ataribox project just yet, you have already guessed it is a hardware platform, and like any great hardware platform its content strategy will be critical. We'll be releasing more product information in the coming weeks/months, and specifically as we roll out our developer strategy you will be first to know.

I hope they have a limited edition so I can place it next to my Ouya

>no disc/cartridge slot
>made by 10 man company
>said company has a bad record
Why are people excited again?

That message is literally the same as hey give to everyone who send them email about "interested being a software developer for ataribux" back when it just launched it's website.

>made by 10 people team
Its gonna be made in china and you know it

I mean atari has only like 13 people in total

>said company has a bad record
I thought it was made by not-Atari company who happen to acquire the rights to use Atari brand.

No card/cartridge slot is not a valid complaint in 2017. When's the last time you used your DVD drive to play a PC game? As long as you can swap out the hard drive it'll be fine. A decent online arcade experience with a good store will be enough to lift it above PS4 and XB1 in my eyes.

I want own my games, thank-you.

Atari games are shit.

I got the email yet I didn't send such an email about being a dev

What do the controllers look like for this thing?

Infoframes bought Atari. Look it up, I'm not going to enable fags.

This is 2017. Even many disc-based games require an online connection. You don't own your games regardless, just play them and enjoy them. Are you planning on hoarding every game you buy so you can enjoy Demon Attack 2 50 years from now?

They must changed the email part but didn't really change the autoreply contents then.

Looked pretty similar to pic related.

They should stick two of these things together side-by-side so you can enjoy dual-stick action.

>nigga how do i perform special kick?
>dial *219*99*2*7#

>Are you planning on hoarding every game you buy so you can enjoy Demon Attack 2 50 years from now?
Yes.

>Even many disc-based games require an online connection.
Are you defending this? Because it's a shitty practice.

>You don't own your games regardless,
It's not like they'll go to your house to snatch your physical games away, but with digital they can do so at any time.

>Game Over
>dial 911 to respawn

Atari ceased to exist in the late 90s. Since then it has been nothing but a brand name.

One of those in each hand and you'd be a true badass. You'd feel like you're permanently in a flight sim. You could throw in some floor pedals too so every limb is fully immersed in the action of Qbert

Sony have gone overboard with those PS3 redesigns imo
