Well there's a remake for the first game coming out at the end of the month on the console you played this on, so what do you think?

Kiwami at the end of the month and if you really like the franchise and can handle going back to the older games, play them in order. 2 is one of the best games in the franchise, localized 3 is kinda bad due to cut content, 4 and 5 are breddy gud, dead souls is skippable, wait for 6 in march it's shit

Wait for Kiwami then get 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and try the feudal Japan games

>the feudal Japan games
Western localisation when?

Did you 100% it?

When is kiwami 2 ?

Never ever because Sega can't think for a name replacement for 'Yakuza' in a game that's nothing about yakuzas

Hopefully on to better games

there is an announcement planned for the end of the month. i guess it's kiwami 2 or yakuza 7 or both

My dick would explode with kiwami 2, could surpass zero easy if they get it right

Kiwami.

Honestly, there are too many games now with not a huge amount of variation, if you play them in a row instead of years apart you'll probably get sick of the series.

>just finished Yakuza 0, my first Yakuza game
Now you can go fuck yourself

What do you get from being a Yakuza elitist of all things?

December 17

Replay on Legend mode and 100% everything including climax battles until Kiwami comes out

Actual Yakuza fans have been shilling the series for years just so they can get a localization.

And now that people are being drawn in by the shilling you're pissed off at them?

>Actual Yakuza fans
As opposed to what ?

More people have now been drawn into the Yakuza series and localisation doesn't seem to be an issue anymore. Why are "actual Yakuza fans" pissed off again?

Just call it Yakuza Ishin, it's not like most gaijin can tell the difference between samurai and them

Probably because "muh secret club niche game"

Not the same guy.
People butthurt about new players.

With RPCS3 becoming better and better, what are the odds we get a fan translation of Japanese Yakuza 3?

>my first

Sorry.

they could literally just call it yakuza ishin and market it as a spinoff story. All they'd have to do is play up how all the characters in the game look like established yakuza characters and it would work fine

Would you rather play a game with broken font and missing or shortened text or would you rather a game with missing side content?
There's really no much point in doing that, since you can play pretty much all Y3 side content in Y4.

It's the only good one, so you're good on this. Don't listen to other Yakuzafags.

Fag.

>0 secondary

He's right on the fact 0 is the best one so far. If you didn't find it amazing or incredible and just good at best, I would advice to stop there, the rest of the series doesn't reach the level of 0.

Yakuza 6 finally launching in March 20 in the west. Also pre order editions come with some cool artbook

2 and 5 definitely come super close.

I disagree on 5. Not enough quality and poorly designed.

Yakuza kiwami comes out in two weeks

>Yakuza 6 release date announced today
>Kiwami dropping next week
>Announcement for new Yakuza game next week as well
If you had told me it would be like this 3 years ago I would've said you were crazy.

post yfw

Nah, 2 are 5 nowhere near close 0, that's just nostalgiafagging.

How was 5 poorly designed besides the final boss regenerating health?

2 definitely has the best plot and villain to rival 0.

>2 and 5 definitely come super close.
2 is better in terms of story and atmosphere, which are the best in the series, and 5 comes close in terms of breadth of content, but 0 is the complete package.

>DUDE I HATE YOU SHIBUSAWA FOR KILLING ODA THE RAPIST/SLAVE OWNER
>EVEN THOUGH YOU TORTURED ME AND MADE MY LIFE MISERABLE IT'S ALL GOOD SAGAWA!
Not even talking about how retarded Makoto was in this game.

Are you talking about 2 or 0?

I was talking about Kenzan, you retard. Can't you read?

What are the chances we get Yakuza 2 remastered and 3/4/5 in a collection on PS4 brehs

>The bear fight.
5 is too good.

The guy behind Kenzan's translation patch (I think it was him) said it wasn't likely as he already tried drumming up interest for it. You had two camps, one that said "This game is already translated, we don't need to spend our time and effort to retranslate it and don't see why you would" and the other camp that wants to localize the shit out of it (So we'd get Rex instead of Mame again, stuff like that). If it does happen it would probably have to be someone from the fandom who knows how messed up 3 is and takes the time to fix it, but the problem is we have more pressing things that need translating like the PSP games. The guy doing the 1st PSP game has been stalled for over a year now due to no one stepping up to the plate for help despite having the entire main story translated.

>How was 5 poorly designed besides the final boss regenerating health?

>bad pacing, with second act being a borefest for first 3 acts
>game treats you like an idiot every time you start with a new character
>bosses kept being reused
>not enough unique bosses
>new cities are empty
>performance issues, especially in Hokkaido
>new battle gimmicks make combat less fun, like Akiyama's aerial combat or Kiryu's Devil Trigger making taunt useless when in heat
>Saejima became way too OP with training upgrades
>upgrade system reversed back to Y1-3
>a battle to unlock full potential with Komekis is pure bullshit

100%
0%

>>upgrade system reversed back to Y1-3
It's the exact same as 4 though.

>WAHHH why doesn't my niche game have more fans
>game gets popular
>WAHHH I don't like new people playing my game

No, in Y4 you could choose individual abilities you want, in Y5 you have to level up 4 different trees with set abilities each level, just like in Y1-3.
The only comparison to Y4 is that you level up and get Soul Points. The rest is completely Y1-3.

>with second act being a borefest for first 3 acts
Only part I'd complain about with Saejima (Up to the bit after the bear at least which is where I'm at) was the imagination portions, those were unneeded. The actual investigation portion in the prison was fine and it was definitely better than prison in 4 where it just went on and on and then you had that fight on the prison rooftop where the guy sniped at you.

>game treats you like an idiot every time you start with a new character
To be fair, you can turn off tips entirely and all it did when going from Kiryu --> Saejima was go "Saejima can charge attacks" and "When someone falls down if you grab them you can press square or triangle to smack them around when you have a bar of Heat" since they're both Saejima's gimmick.

>new cities are empty
You mean of stores or what? Kiryu's city seems pretty alright with the content, Taniwhatever that you go to through the imagination looks a bit barren but it still seems like it has more stores compared to Soutenbori which is around the same size.

>new battle gimmicks make combat less fun
Kiryu's Devil Trigger is needed for his fights, look at how often you're up against 6+ enemies, especially in the finale of his part. It's a nightmare when you don't actually have it due to how often you get thrown to the ground and how much more active the enemies are in this game. I could half-ass fights in the previous games and only sway every once in a while, here I'm dodging like a madman since there's always someone getting ready for a swing.

>Saejima became way too OP with training upgrades
Saejima was already the strongest character in 4 so I don't see how this is an issue for 5. Square x 3 + triangle x2 is his strongest move and he gains super armor while charging and doing the attack on top of it almost instantly giving him a full bar of Heat and dealing an enormous chunk of damage on top of granting him the clothesline heat action. 5 looks to be the same deal.

>To be fair, you can turn off tips entirely
No, I'm talking overall, how everything starts slow and weak for 2 or 3 acts, even bosses have like 1 or 2 max life bars even on Hard
>5 looks to be the same deal.
Saejima is literally unknockable when in Heat, which means pretty much every time you charge finishing blow.

>how everything starts slow and weak for 2 or 3 acts,
One of the first fights in the slammer has you going up against the one eyed boss guy (Though he does have low HP) who dodges constantly like Majima and deals a good chunk of health if he catches you in his stunlock slaps, and then like 20 minutes later you have to fight that entire group of 40+ enemies, and then the bear that does an eighth of your health a hit that has two bars of health on hard. Kiryu basically just fought normal mooks for the first two chapters and then the bosses and the final area had groups of enemies.

I would say Kiryu had more fights at the start but Saejima has fights with enemies that deal more damage and in greater numbers than Kiryu did for the first two chapters. The only time I can think where it didn't do this in 4 was with Tanimura where right out of the gate it throws like eight guys at you in the very first battle, and with Kiryu he fights in the old yakuza building but going from Tanimura to him it makes sense due to how overpowered you feel.

>Saejima is literally unknockable when in Heat, which means pretty much every time you charge finishing blow.
He had this in 4 as well.

NG+ respect Kuze again

And now the series is getting more fans, which makes localization quicker. Dunno why the other guy got so mad about it.

I guess these people spend more time on Sup Forums than playing video games.

0 Is flanderized bullshit that's ruined the franchise. Fuck off

Grow a pair

Kiwami

You go back and play the entire series in release order, like you should have done to begin with.

>like you should have done to begin with

why? 0 happens before the older games

>I BELIEVE IN YOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUU

MGS3 happens before MGS1, doesn't mean you should play it first.

What is this Kuze is hard meme? Is Sup Forums that bad?

So? Starting with 0 you get introduced to the characters, backstory and some other shit. The whole point of 0 was to introduce new fans to the series as they remake the older games.

No one says he's hard, he's just a good character.

How did it do that

>when 2 gets remade, it will be done in 6's engine
>rendered at a buttery smooth 20 frames per second

>There is no standalone Saejima hunting game
This needs to be a thing, this is awesome, and it's great to see how the Dead Souls shooting was improved. I would absolutely love to have this expanded as its own game.

Wow, I'm not the only person who likes the hunting? Seems like general consensus in threads is that hunting village part of the game was shit.

The first half hour of tutorials is a bit slow and you're really held by the hand but it's really enjoyable wandering around hunting for things and getting upgrades to last longer and better guns. I would definitely welcome it again as a side game.

Maybe they'll understand the engine better and can squeeze more performance out of it?

I don't know, they should just go back to 0's engine seeing how 6's doesn't really look much better.

I miss good yakuza threads with no idiots and elitists around.

Yakuza 1. Because Kiwami is literally the same game as 0

>literally

No, it's a worse game, with less content and different story.

It's literally Yakuza 1 kys

Even if it didn't turn out to be what it seemed like, that was still an excellent "oh shit"
moment.

I've only played 0, and this is what makes me somewhat reserved to try out the remake.
It being a step back on almost every front just seems like it'll make it a disappointing follow-up to 0. And even though I actually mostly enjoyed the story, it's all the side activities and missions that got me into 0, which seems to be toned down in Kiwami.

>Y1 biggest flaw was combat and loadings even when moving between different streets
>get the game with best combat, barely noticeable loadings, seamless Kamurocho and put Yakuza 1 story on top of it
>somehow it's supposed to be bad

That's why you'd rather play the game with like 30-50 seconds loading screens when getting into random battle on screen, useless lock on and minimal side content?

All the people in the old yakuza threads were elitists, it just didn't come up much because there were less idiots who had only played the newest game in the series.

Did you play it, man?

No, it's not 1, only in story maybe (and they changed some stuff).
Gameplay is different, feel is different, so would you kindly go fuck yourself.

no

>animation look fucking weird on new models
>kiryu look angry all the time
>lost all the Yakuza 1 music
>changed some part of the story and ruined Majima for the dumb shit Majima anywhere system

>improved upon everything else and even at worst cutscenes animations aren't any worse than original

I have no idea what you're talking about, friend.

It's the same shit with a better localization

Sega shill pls

You stupid idiot.

Yes, remake doesn't mean "exactly the same shit". And it also doesn't mean "let's not change the story to make it better" (since presentation in Yakuza 1 amateurish and story rushes through things way too much) and "let's reuse the same fucking animation in cutscenes as ps2 game".

It also doesn't mean "let's fuck up Majima and let's pretend that 2005's gamedesign and pacing is fucking perfect".

If you would like to continue with the series, which would you prefer - a remake of the original game based on the latest game featuring all the improvements introduced to the series over past 10 years with some shortcomings, or original which is objectively the worst technologically advanced game in the series?

>Different engine and new features
>Gameplay is different

Enjoy the clunkiness and comparingly no content, I guess.

>Yakuza 0, my first Yakuza game.

Of course it was.

>even at worst cutscenes animations aren't any worse than original

Yeah, it sure is great to see ps2-quality facial animation in a game where people sit and talk for 10 minutes straight.

Especially great considering new cutscenes which look better and have better direction.

Some consistency, please? Since it's not even CGI and always real-time.

>best game equal to 2
>but i-it ruined the franchise
STUPID MOTHERFUCKER

Why do people keep saying that it ruins Maijima
I don't understand

I miss the old comfy Yakuza threads.

The past few months has just been full of autists screaming MUH RELEASE ORDER and NOT MUH YAKUZA 1

Yeah, that's Kiwami in a nutshell, actually.

At very least the lock on actually works.

I expected it. Every great series has it's shitty elitists.
