>modders do a better job than Capcom
why hasn't the shame made them do better? This fucking company, I swear.

>All SF5 characters have giant fucking hands and feet
This shit turned me off from the game.

...

Because you guys only good for talking about how you like darkstalkers, not playing it. Otherwise fightcade room would be huge.

what...what happened here?

If these modders are so talented why can't they make their own games?

Titty tremors

I'd rather have a new game than play the old shit again.

that's what the project M team did with smash. Go look they're making their own game b

Maybe their peers should follow their example.

No, it's niche as fuck and half the cast are fucking monsters/furries

Why not just put Darkstalkers characters into Street Fighter?

what's the edgiest darkstalkers character? I wanna get into the series. is there a ps4 game I can get?

there's something inside her left tit, struggling to escape. spooky as fuck.

that game's heinous, though. awful shit.

Literally the case in all sf games you secondary turd

So you don't actually like darkstalkers.
You'd bitch about the new game too

>I'd rather play an outsourced shitshow than play a good game that other people are more than willing to play with you
Alright

Why would you want that?

Jedah, and Darkstalkers Resurrection is on PSN but honestly you're better off just playing on Fightcade, either way the same people are playing both versions and you'll have to likely jump into discord to play people.

>bright idea for a first impression is to show copied melee movesets on blant imitations

No. Good thing since modern Capcom is shit.

Fuck that shit, I want a new game!

Conflicting gameplay design. Darkstalkers is an airdasher.

With Capcom the way it is, do you really want one?

fuck. I hate socializing.

jedah should be edgier. I can fix this series.

Ye

Where did it all go so wrong.

Just hang out in the fightcade room and someone will challenge you eventually

>Darkstalkers is an airdasher
Not really, air dashing is unique to 4 characters in VSav, that said the whole "Just import characters lol" is retarded.

Welcome to fighting games.

>want to remake game
>have to change it up or this dipshit will say its a copy
just kys my man. I bet you think openmw should change everything about morrowind too.

That's not true at all.

>Welcome to fighting games.
Welcome to dead fighting games*

I don't have a pc. mine died a few months ago.

387617967
That's cute

Fuck you Boco.

>I don't have a pc
>is posting on Sup Forums
Posting from your PS4, chump?

Yeah nah, Fighting games, the only exceptions are the usual AAA releases and fighting games in general are a niche genre. SF is trying its best to be the fighting game version of League of Legends but it's kind of failing at that. This genre just isn't like that. It's not a bad thing though, really, some things are just small scale like that.

>phones don't exist.

Probably never ever unless you mean an HD remaster

No. It would be too sexy for sjews.

The filters used for Resurrection looked wonky and best with just the original resolution sprites.

>found a total of 4 matches in online matchmaking over the last 5 times I've played

fuck this game

Just play MvC if you want a game based solely around air dashing/jumping into either an empty low or an air normal, both followed by a string that is not punishable if it was blocked.

this is sf5 and somebody modded mika to look like felicia

>wanting a new game from crapcom

the old ones are great and perfectly playable for free

>not sticking with the same guy for 40 matches

I want a new game.

I don't want a new Darkstalkers from nuCapcom thank you.

Is there a youtube vid of this? The shaking boob is hilarious.

The current and upcoming generation of gamers has been spoiled by quick, one-and-done matchmaking. The idea of playing long sets with others is lost on them.

Matchmaking is awful in SFV. Anything below full bars is so unreliable and if you set it to full bars you'll just fight the same handful of people over and over again. Four bars in SFV is equivalent to a red connection in most other fighting games.

>that said the whole "Just import characters lol" is retarded.
It's becoming a popular trend actually. Virtua and KOF in DOA, Blazblue Cross Tag, SF and KOF in Tekken, they're just going nuts with crossovers.

True dat. That's the only possible way to play this game right now. The fuck he was expecting?

Darkstalkers as a whole was always just "Woah dude, look at these radical characters, let's just fuck around and have no idea what we're doing. This game is so FUN" instead of actually being an actual good game.

In terms of aesthetics it is still one of the best fighting games. Stage design, music design, voicework, sound effects, sprites and animations, character design, etc... are all top notch. Anakaris has to be one of the most impressive fighting game characters out there.

But in terms of design philosophy it is all kinds of wonky. Nearly everyone has a bunch of moves that serve absolutely no purpose. The devs did not know how to make the meter system work. Dark Force is almost useless for most of the cast. You have characters like Vampire Savior Anakaris that often won't even touch their super meter, ending fights with a full 9 bars.

The pushblock system is really poorly designed too. And while the aggressive nature of it made it a nice contrast from other fighting games at the time (Samurai Shodown, Street Fighter, etc..), it also homogenizes the cast. Nearly everyone in Vampire Savior is played the same way.

In fact SFV and Vampire Savior are pretty similar in regards to their flaws. The thing is that Vampire Savior is actually fun though, not to mention pleasing to the ears and eyes.

>what...what happened here?

She's titty swatting that pointing finger.

I don't want a crossover, I want a new game.

You don't want a new DS from modern Capcom.

Yes I do.

No you don't.

You really, really don't.

Yes I do.

You think you do, but you don't.

I do.

This is precisely why so many garbage sequels happen, because people will eat up a brand and crave more of a brand even if there is essentially zero chance that future iterations will be even half-good.

Infinite and SFV has made a lot of people wish their respective franchises had just ended rather than becoming shambling corpses of their former glory.

I don't care what Sup Forums says, I want a new Darkstalkers!

Go play fightcade, you damn negros

I'm aware, and I fucking hate it. I don't like crossovers in general and disliked it as far back as Soulcalibur.

People want to jump in and out. I can see why, given the type of multiplayer games that are usually popular, but yeah Fighting games just aren't like that.

Oh yeah VSav has its problems, nothing is perfect, but fuck it is a blast to play and probably my favorite fighter outside of maybe Tekken. That said the characters still have their own gimmicks. The game is offensive but most of the characters still have their own ways of trying to close out games. Sasquatch and Felicia are really similar but they still have different tools that would make you pick one over the other. In Felicia's case her throw game is better.

>same ten people who play eight hours a day for years straight

No thanks.

>different tools to make you want to make Felicia over Sasquatch

LOL

This is part of the problem with homogenized playstyles in fighting games. There is no real reason to pick Felicia over the yeti except character loyalty. This is also the issue SFV has. Other characters just flat out do things better. A slightly improved throw game is not going to compensate at all in this situation.

>doesn't want to be raped by japanese nerds
What a pleb.

Unless a person just, I dunno, likes characters with good throw mixup, greater walk speed (short hopping is so important on Sasquatch because his walk speed is fucking terrible), good jumps (Felicia has the second fastest jump in the game and good air normals), etc. Some people like that shit. I mean you aren't wrong in saying that game is a bit more homogenized due to universal system mechanics but simply saying "Everyone plays the same" is flat out inaccurate.

Some other user pointed this out and honestly I completely changed my mind about it, unless its in the spirit of the old ones I dont want crapcom anywhere near this IP until they get their shit together. I'll just stick to the old ones they're still really fun to play

Yeah there's really no point. VSav and VHun are still perfectly playable so why bother? That's the attitude a lot of people that play the games have.

Alot of people want one to see any new characters they make for it, or to perhaps see what happens story-wise.

I dunno, will we ever get a new real Breath of fire game?

>I'll just stick to the old ones
>Pretending you play them regularly
I get it you want to go all reeee crapcom but no one buys it when anyone here pretends like they support old games. Especially darkstalkers when you guys wouldn't even buy the rerelease

no

and fuck is that a GOOD damn mod

I have never understood the appeal of this series, it's as paint-by-the-numbers as any JRPG I've played.

Not that guy but I bought Resurrection day 1 and since I was a retard with an Xbox the only people I had to play with were a few randoms and Hildr.

the series ended at BoF 3 for me, that's it, it had a good run.

I wouldn't say Breath of Fire was a very innovative entry in the JRPG genre, but it was definitely one of the best series in it, especially 3 and 4. It just did a lot of things well. Everything from the gameplay to graphics to sound design, and even the writing itself, was just really good. Other games might have been better in some aspects or had unique gameplay mechanics, but Breath of Fire's strength was that it was lacking in no department. They were just solid games. The only one that doesn't really hold up very well, in my opinion, is the first game because it is extremely basic compared to games that came later, but it's still not a bad game.

>1 great game, 2 if you include the fan-translation for bof II that was released 7 year after Dragon Quarter
Wow, truly a great run

I wish I understood moonrunes so I could find out what nips think of Breath of fire. Since the mobile app is getting shut, they didn't like it either, but is it just because no one cared or are there nip fans asking for a new game?
I heard they liked Dragon Quarter since it got into the "ps2 classics" category, got great reviews and was the top sold game when it released, so obviously their opinions differ drastically from ours

No.
Nobody bought Resurrection.
Also, they would butcher it.
Also, even if they got it right, it would be ded in a week.

Don't you faggots feel the irony of you saying that about BoF while praising Shitstalkers? LMAO MY DUDES

Given that there are no fighting games on the current market (that I am aware of at least) that really play like Vampire Savior (or even Hunter), no not really. Hell Killer Instinct has some similarities and it's still very much its own game. That's not even a comment on quality of either Vampire or BoF.

rehashing melee with all of melees strengths and faults is not the same as openmw at all

Honestly, Skullgirls feels like the closest thing to a new Darkstalkers game. Too bad it's so combo heavy and busted, or at least it was when I played it. It's too bad the devs wanted to make it more like MvC2 instead of basing more of the gameplay on Vampire Savior'.

>will we ever get another darkstalkers game?

yes
youtube.com/watch?v=Cqouj4ma15Q&t=133s

Right now, after so many patches, Skullgirls feels "balanced" but in the sense that it is balanced within the type of gameplay that it provides (mvc2-style mashy combos with easy inputs, but long length to the optimal combos which makes execution much more difficult than it would be otherwise). The problem that I see is that you have to keep pushing towards optimization of your play, which is totally normal and fine when it comes to fighters, but you will find yourself in training mode grinding out all of the combos, resets and tricks your character(s) can do, rather than fighting against a human opponent (and sadly I beat my sparring partner hard too many times for him to want to play SG ever again)

I dunno if its just me, but the game felt very dependent on being accurate with (and memorizing) your inputs (moreso than any other fighter I've played other than Melee) rather than mindgaming, and I felt like the neutral game was lacking because of it. I also felt like squiggly and painwheel did not offer enough damage or support abilities to feel "worth it" to learn how to play them well. They are certainly more than viable but they just feel like they are lacking in some way compared to the others. Painweel especially feels almost like she came from an entirely different style of game (in terms of gameplay) compared to all the others.

But these are all complaints from a person like me who really doesn't play fighters that much, so a lot of this probably doesn't hold much value when put under scrutiny, but I just wanted to say how I feel about SG.
