I tried. Touya was such a shit MC that I couldn't keep reading. It's normal for VN MCs to be a bit boring, but Touya was such an exceptionally whiny cunt that I couldn't keep going, even with the girls carrying both the casual and serious moments.

Hakumen and Es are my go-to characters. I guess Mai would round out my top 3 since she just feels nice and easy to play. I wish I was skilled enough to main Rachel since she's my favorite outside of the gameplay.

He's just plagued by some of the game's usual weird balancing choices.

Other than that though his main issue is his short range. He's like Naoto in the sense that you just have to go the fuck in and not relent for a second. His bouncing fireball does help with that though and he's fast as fuck. People were saying his damage is low but he gets an easy 2-3k midscreen plus corner carry off of simple confirms into his rekkas. In the corner he has meterless 4k combos but most players seem to prefer going for fireball oki instead.

Aside from that his Drive is pretty shit until you use his Install and his other Distortions aren't that great either. His Counters are also pretty risky. You get a free combo plus massive Heat gain (22 for 6a) if you land it, but they don't work on a lot of moves. I think when all is said and done he'll be maybe mid/mid-low, but who knows. People said that Izanami and Nine were nothing special at first when they first came out too.

I think I personally like Tsubaki more but that's because I only fucked around with her here and there. Izayoi has a bigger toybox than her though even though I only used her like twice.

They should have at least made his health larger to compensate but it's only 11k, which is pretty average. It's actually not as damning as it sounds. You just have to be more on point with your defense and save Bursts for when you really need it.

Couple things. She's not horny for her brother. There's a reason why she wants to be close to him but it's not that. Same way Jin isn't gay for his brother either. Secondly it's only mostly her brother. She's a clone and Ragna isn't human to begin with.

Izayoi can teleport behind her opponent, Tsubaki can't. No-brainer.

I'm not saying people should abandon defense entirely, its very important. But with how the game is and considering the toolset on most of the characters there are times where you are actually happy to take the overhead or the grab or whatever. Having the opponent actually stop thinking and autopilot his crouching combo actually breaks this mindset entirely, hell it breaks the mind of the Jubei player entirely because now he has to deal with either snowballing or being snowballed.

They already said they aren't planning to add any series aside from the revealed 4 but might as later depending on how well the game does. Knowing Arcsys though DLC characters are almost guaranteed.

I have some bad news if you are looking for a good character.

She got somewhat better in 2.0.

Bullet as a character is one of those with a mechanic that's hard to balance properly without making her too good or complete shit. Level 2 Heat Bullet is a legit threat, but actually getting there and staying there against skilled players is hard. Instead of making it easier to get into Heat though they made it harder though gave her a few ways to keep it going longer. A lot of her problems would be fixed if they just made it so 5D combos from her ground normals again or made her start the round in Heat Level 1.

Amane was the same way at first but they went the opposite way with him. Now that he can get into Drill Level 3 much easier he's damn near high tier.
