You replay it as a Nosferatu and then again as Malkavian.
Both those setups are DRASTICALLY different from normal game.

JESUS CHIRST YOU MADE ME REINSTALL IT AGAIN
Thanks

I prefer to wait for some time before replaying it.

Dragon Age: Origins , its not as good tho

Finished years ago.

Russian Roulette with a fully loaded revolver.

Alpha protocol? Be aware, the gameplay is terrible.

Played it too, but gameplay wasn't that bad. It was actually better than Bloodlines.

Deus Ex if you've never played it, otherwise you just keep playing VtMB over and over again with mods, new builds, different dialogue choices, etc. and hope for a VR remake.

Eh, bloodline isn't as clunky. It's also got WAY better facial animations despite being olver by five years. You opened your present right?

Deus Ex it is. Do you recommend any mod or enhancement for first playthrough?

GMDX

>VR
I hope a tzimisce makes you into a chair.

Deus Ex or System Shock 2

Yes.

I'd do the same thing that people recommend with VtMB, at least playing vanilla for your first playthrough and then mods for repeats.

Tzimisce a shit.

Srsly though why dislike a VR remake? I don't think a sequel would be as good, it would be Duke Nukem Forever all over again. I still wish the WoD MMO wasn't cancelled but the only hope I have of anything with it in the future is a VR remake, I think it would be fun.

All you need for your first play through is deus exe. On subsequent play throughs I'd recommend GMDX.

Oh actually, get this:

kentie.net/article/dxguide/

It helps Deus Ex run better on modern PCs and also includes things like a mouse acceleration fix. For some reason mouse accel is enabled by default in Deus Ex and there's no way to disable it with in-game options.

VR is utter, irredeemable garbage. It's unwieldy, imprecise, cumbersome and limits player actions. Let it rest, it's dead and shouldn't be exhumed.

fuck off

Godlike game. Have any of you played VTM:Redemption or whatever it's called?

What the fuck is "VR" assuming you're not talking about Virtual Reality?

I think of it as being on the same level as consoles pre-NES right now. It'll probably be a few generations of VR before it starts getting to the point where the SNES/PS2 era was.

I think it's the only way forward for video games, staying on the same hardware is only going to make vidya stagnate.

I've never tried VR before so I'm not certain who should fuck off.

I don't know, movies have been around since the 1900s and hasn't changed too much from just sit down and stare at a 24fps screen for roughly an hour and a half. Maybe the same could be said for videogames.

I tried playing it but was turned off by the dungeon crawling aspect and didn't play it very long. I'll probably give it another shot soon though since I just recently finished playing VtMB again 3 times.

If anyone likes VtMR you might like Bloodlust Shadowhunter, it's inspired by VtMB but more of a dungeon crawler. It's fairly decent.

Vampire: Redemption, would be my guess.

Movies got better technology for CGI and things like that, which could be considered a form of VR maybe? But you could be right. Maybe what we just need are improvements to AI.

Would be kind of interesting to see something like an AI building a game completely from scratch, especially if it was done for each person based on their preferences. Like you tell it your favorite games and it combines them all into something new.

Depends what you're looking for. If you want something similar to Bloodlines gameplay-wise your best bets would be Deus Ex and/or Alpha Protocol. Both clunky semi-open semi-RPGs, though Alpha Protocol is far and away clunkier but it also has pretty good reactivity based on your choices.

If you want something with a similar theme I can't really think of anything. There are other vampire games but nothing has the same feeling as Bloodlines. I guess Age of Decadence sort of works, it's also extremely replayable in a bit more grimdark of a setting than it first appears but still not really.

Nah I originally meant virtual reality. I just think about the first time one of those Tzimisce geodudes jumps out at you and think it would be cool in VR, not to mention talking to all the characters.

>What the fuck do i play next?
Vampire: The Masquerade Part II: Bloodline Harder

Nothing, nothing will give you that feel. Just replay Bloodlines again and again.

You mad, Nosies? :3

Walk into Vesuvius, see this. What do?

>Cosplayers

Ah I see. I asked because I got it in a bundle deal with Vtmb on Gog and never played it. I might give it a try one day cos the world is so interesting.

SHRINK NOT FROM GOD

The other Vampire The Masquerade game which name I can't remember. You play a dude embraced by the bruja against your will to fight in a jihad against the tzimisce and then they kidnap your pure wife.

No, YOU stop!

...

>people shitting on these hot-ass cosplayers
really now?

>I play this with literally zero expectations
>"Mall Goths the Game? the game may be good but the setting and plot can't possible be any good" I wsthinking myself when I installed it.
>It's actually quite a great game with an excellent plot Until the last 5 or so hours when you are railroaded into several poorly designed "dungeons" full of either very hard or very easy enemies and bosses

The ending and the plot twist were very satisfying at least I enjoyed watching you-know-you getting what he deserved.

>no femgrel

Cosplayers are an abomination and deserve to be shit on.

I thought the exact same thing when the game came out but still went for it due to Troika magic. Was surprised as hell when they actually showed the vampires in a fairly pathetic light.

>I enjoyed watching you-know-you getting what he deserved

LaCroix? I honestly didn't think he was that bad a guy. He's ambitious and a law and order type but he's not exactly a villain. Certainly no worse than the anarchist morons.

The only person I actually relished taking down in that game was Ming Xiao. She's such a fucking obnoxious fake bitch and she got her ass killed by a lowly western neonate.

get some therapy or something, mr. jaded, specially since you can't even enjoy hot cosplayers

/r/the/cgl/ is over that way, user. This is the videogames board with the topic of a particularly good videogame. Also take that retarded drawfag general to /vg/ with you as you go.

trying too hard, dude

And you aren't trying hard enough to discuss videogames. You're a disgrace to the uniform.

>posting cosplays of the game is not related to the game
I don't see you discussing the game either, only trying to get people to stop replying to the thread.

Posting these images in no way disrupt the game discussion, and worst case scenario they're free bumps. Unless you can either
>prove how cosplay of the game's characters isn't related to the game
or
>prove how it disrupts the game discussion besides when a jaded faggot like yourself starts calling for arms because of cosplay images posted
then you should just stop posting, as you're full of shit

First time playing, what clan should I pick ?

Gangrel a best

install the eye replacer addon

>prove how cosplay of the game's characters isn't related to the game
You can play through the game without once looking at a cosplayer. Even a piece of shit Youtube video with some guy mumbling into a microphone about how the hotel is scary is more related to the game than a picture of some turd wearing clothes since it's actually discussing the game.

>prove how it disrupts the game discussion besides when a jaded faggot like yourself starts calling for arms because of cosplay images posted
Thems some good posts. Fine posts. "You mad, Nosies? :3" really got me thinking about how angry a nosferatu player could be, while "Walk into Vesuvius, see this. What do?" puts the reader in a nightmare scenario. What would you do? This is some real theorycrafting shit here, the kind of post that makes a person start spreadsheeting character builds.

I did the quiz thing and I got Nosferatu, cool class, but I want to do a romance on the fist playthrough, what class can fuck the most

you still haven't explained how those free bumps with images related to the game disrupted any of the game's discussion, so you're still full of shit

also, if you want your bullcrap to go through, try to persuade the mods at /q/ or something, meanwhile, fuck off

t. LaCroix

All 3D is PD

So now you're falling back to "My post was shit but at least it was a bump, that's like discussion"? Come the fuck on, user. Reasoning like that keeps zombie generals afloat in /vg/.

Never played this but I keep seeing it mentioned, are there any mods and shit I should install before playing?

Toreador.

That hability that makes you go sanic fast and gun proficiency turn the game into the matrix.

Ventrue

The fan restoration patch is pretty much a must, Activision was fucking Troika in the ass and the game was released a buggy incomplete mess.

>So now you're falling back to "My post was shit but at least it was a bump, that's like discussion"?
there's no "falling back", I said "worst case scenario" (which would mean you having a shred of reason, which you don't)

>Come the fuck on, user. Reasoning like that keeps zombie generals afloat in /vg/.
take your strawmanning and shove it up your ass, you jaded asshat

>download "wesp's unnoficial patch" (latest version can be easily googled)
>download eye replacer addon (see
for the difference it makes)
>do first playthrough NOT as Nosferatu and NOT as Malkavian

He went on and on about how great the Camarilla was, then when he had the sarcophagus before he went boom he was like "Even the Camarilla can't stop me now." He was pretty bad, he got a lot of innocent people killed probably just because he enjoyed it.

Unofficial Patch, basic version. Fixes all the bugs and makes the game playable on modern systems, don't really need anything else for your first time.

is there even a point in playing with the patch on basic instead of with the restored content added on top?

Yes, some of the restored content is stuff that was cut for not being that good but still included in the game files. A lot of people prefer the vanilla game after playing both basic and plus.

I'm playing it right now, in Chinatown so I guess I'm pretty close to the end.

The game feels like it starts incredibly strong but then loses a lot of momentum. I know you're basically an errand-boy and all, but once the Ankaran Sarcophagus gets introduced the story feels like it gets turned into a wild-goose chase, I also understand why people call the Hollywood sewers "that part" now.

It's still good, but Santa Monica and Downtown is definitively the high points so far.

Santa Monica is one of the best first zones in any video game imo. It's such a shame when you realize how short it is on subsequent playthroughs.

It is a wild goose chase, though I didn't really have any problem with it because the story still advances and you keep learning a bit about the WoD lore.

I think SM and downtown have the best dark and seedy atmospheres. Hollywood is still fun with good characters and side quests, and same thing for most of Chinatown, but they start to feel less goth-y and oppressive.

Yeah the first couple times Santa Monica seemed a lot longer when trying to figure out some of the quests, like who that guy was at the end of the street on the intercom, what the tattoo shop was for, the guy in the diner who doesn't say much. It has a great atmosphere.

I've played the game so much that I basically know everything about it, so when I play again I try to do everything efficiently. I still appreciate the game but not in the same way. Haven't used mods much and was thinking of trying one of the overhauls to give me a reason to explore everything again.

>pick tremere
>join the anarchs

>Santa Monica is one of the best first zones in any video game imo. It's such a shame when you realize how short it is on subsequent playthroughs.

Yeah, I agree. Once you leave Santa Monica and get to Downtown for the first time it feels like you've just scratched the surface to a pure masterpiece; but then Hollywood and Chinatown both feel kind of eh.

Great game, but it sets the bar very high in the first couple of hours.

Why are numales sich pathetic defeatists?

Vr has huge potential. Horror games are already drastically improve by it.

Everyone who says dont play malkavian the first time is a fucking idiot. Its the only time it makes sense to play one. You are a stranger in a strange land. Youre hearing voices. Your mind is betraying you. Its hard to tell whats real and whats imaginary. Youve been tossed down the rabbit hole. With no guide.

u crazy

I kind of agree. I played Malk my first time and enjoyed it. It's still true that playing Malk the first time makes others seem kind of boring, but only at first. I did a ranged/dementation Malk the first time, then on my second play I did obfuscate/melee. But after that, I wanted to play the other clans and still had fun.
