Unfortunately "vanilla rules, custom maps" seems to be a niche market.

Most people either want flat out normal TF2, or Super Wacky Flying Licky Dick Simulator.

Most of the TF2 maps, upward, dustbowl, 2fort, steel, badwater. That being said I wish more people played Steel, definitely my favorite TF2 map.

The only thing I don't like about dustbowl is that the round timer doesn't cap, so you can end up with a defense of the last stage last point that ends up being 20+ mins long.

But the fact it was so unbalanced made it balanced, all the weapons were viable (with the exception of the F2000 and the last two snipers) and were used well into MW2's life, unlike the later cods where a certain few are obviously better and are use constantly.

Sure, you'd see people spamming the UMP and Spas 12's, but it wasn't uncommon to see someone running around with a Scar H and an AA12, or a Mini Uzi and a PP2000.
