Project Mirai DX is a pretty fun casual rhythm game imo. The Zelda remakes are also decent in their own rights. The PW trilogy got me hooked on the series, so good on ya for playing that. Super Mario 3D Land is a decent casual platformer. It's super easy though.

Does hacking it give you basically any 3ds game for free? What are the negatives?

you can play games off your SD card.
only real bad thing is the possibility of getting found out by nintendo, but if you turn off the setting that sends information to nintendo in the settings and make what you are doing on your friend list invisible, that has basically no chance of happening.
