Well this doesn't look very fun.
Well this doesn't look very fun
Combat and animations look pretty spotty but hopefully they can shape it up. I like the idea of it though and the customization. Not even a furfag.
Well it's in alpha still so I'll wait till things shape up to make a decision on whether to buy it. However I can say that I'm not a fan of the narrator making comments during combat and I find the comic book dialogue when hitting enemies to loom bizarre and out of place compared to the rest of the games art style.
Looks like it got potential.
I will probably make the protagonist look like my hamster, if I decide to get it.
Your hamster will be dead by the time this gets released.
>female option
das it
They need to rework this shit from the ground up. For one make the game actually look like the promo artwork.
He's only two months old so there's hope.
The announcer needs to shut the fuck up. I don't know why they think this is a good idea, especially during combat. It better just be for the tutorial or something you can turn off.
Probably inspired by Bastion or the fact that the game is based on some pen and paper game
This game seems to have a ton of potential and I want to like it, but everything seems so off. The stiff animation, the jerky pacing, the clashing of enemy intros + comic book style actions + slow motion, the narration that if done better would give the game a ton of charm. It almost feels like it has a big budget, but feels like a knockoff at the same time.
Is it just me or does the narrator really sound like the narrator in the Stanley Parable?
I want to believe it's because the game is very early and barebones atm
>binary stat and choice that will affect the game and route you get
why
I feel the same, it seems like a bad mix of an indie game and a big budget game. But I guess they have plenty of time to iron out whatever is wrong with it.
I feel like they can't decide if they want to be gloomy like souls or have it be a campy action fest like WET.
Everything being a "quest" and quest-markers are awful though.
>"biomutant"
>it's a ferret with a gun
I really like the visual SXF. Always wished that would happen in BamHam
Otherwise, it looks like its got potential. Too bad for the the furry sparkledog design but its not really a dealbreaker.
Looks like there is still a lot to do but it has potential
>POW
>YOU HIT IT
>SOMETHING BROKE
Yeah thats not gonna get grating a few hours in
It's based on a pen and paper game and you can grow insect claws and what not from radioactive pools
Something about the movement looks off
>Yiff in hell: The Game
I hope it dies in a fire.
narrator is fucking annoying
The same people are making Darksiders 3 right?
Cause this demo reminds me a lot of that one.
>unfunny narration
>morality system
>comic book text effects
>gritty realistic artstyle
>lock on combat
>those comic book accents that completely clash with the style
>that guy sounding like a childrens' book narrator
wtf am I looking at
>i wonder if theres a crowbar around here
>a literal quest marker for it
>YOU FOUND IT
> I WONDER IF YOU CAN FIND SOMETHING ELSE
>Cue the box right beside it
modern video games were a mistake
This looks pretty good, very glad it isn't another over the shoulder walking sim.
Looks really shitty
D R O P P E D
>The martial arts style combat system allows you maximum freedom of movement and agility while mixing shooting, melee and powers from your mutations. Learning new Wushu combat forms through progression and learning from masters you’ll meet, will constantly add to your choices and make sure combat never gets old.
>You’ll be able to re-code your genetic structure to change the way you look and play. This will of course affect your attributes and in addition to this, exposure to bio-contamination in the world will lead to physical mutations like mantis-claws and barbed tails, while exposure to radioactivity found in bunkers from the old world will affect your mind and unlock psi-mutations like telekinesis, levitation and more.
>pick your fur type, style and colour
Oh lawdy
>You are totally free when crafting weapons. Mix and match parts to create your own unique 1H or 2H slash, crush and pierce melee weapons. Revolvers, rifles and shotguns and add modifications like cork-screws and battery-powered chainsaw modules to bio-contaminated sludge vials adding to your combat arsenal. There are even characters you’ll meet that’ll craft cool stuff for you, like bionic wings, a jump-pack and even let you modify your Automaton - the scrap-toy sidekick!
>You are totally free when equipping your character. Not only when it comes to choosing weapons you created, but what type of gear you wear. Equip a gas-mask and an oxygen tank for exploring the Dead Zones, thermos-resistant clothes for venturing into cryonic areas or protective gear for taking on bio-contaminated creatures, the choice is up to you.
Does the game seriously have tank control?
Looks good for, mind you I saw this and the gameplay trailer.
Why?
It looks like an open world Alice Madness returns game. Nice artstyle, quite cohesive setting throughout. Combat and enemy variation seems plentiful, also it looks deeper and more meaningful than basic slashing. It's no plantinum but it gets work done nonetheless.
I will buy if it won't be a buggy mess.
>You are free to explore the world and what lies beneath its surface, by foot, mech, jet-ski, air-balloon or area unique mounts. Explore the dying wildland, the tunnels and bunker networks of the underworld, and find your way up the mountains or out in the archipelago. There are lots of discoveries to be made, mysteries to unravel, creatures to confront and weird characters to meet in this vibrant and colorful world.
>Your actions play a major part in the unfolding of a story where End is coming to the New World. A plague is ruining the land and the Tree-of-Life is bleeding death from its roots. The Tribes stand divided, in need of someone strong enough to unite them or bring them all down...
You are guided through the world by a Storyteller that narrates every step of your journey, but it’s your actions and choices that’ll decide how your story of survival ends.
Looks pretty good actually
The game is in early development do there's room for improvement
>The world is large, and getting around on foot could be boring. Fortunately, you’ll be able to pilot a variety of vehicles, including a mech, hot-air balloon, and mechanical hand that walks around like Master Hand and also shoots enemies by making a gun shape. If fast travel is more your thing, you can unlock points by marking signs. How do you mark them, you ask? Fine. You pee on them.
Time to piss everywhere
The concept is pretty good, but I feel like the execution is already fucked. But furries pretty much guarantee this game wont fail.
>muh crafting and survival
when's it on early access?
Putting effort into games for pre-teen kids always seems to fail, don't know why they think they'll succeed.
Pre-teens are fine with shovelware crap, it's a part of growing up learning what is well made and what is not.
Same publisher. That gameplay demo is also very early and they better not fuck it up
Looks pretty good but also looks like it needs some work to really get there you know. I'll keep an eye out for this and that Giant Slaying game I love these sleeper action tittles.
That fucking narrarator ruins it
Cautiously optimistic
...
>click reverse image search
>it IMMEDIATELY brings up the porn
Nani the fuck?
its a game literally about pic related.
I'm just going to sit back and wait for them to fuck it up like they inevitably will
>Do you want to be an Anti-Hero or a Hero?
This makes no sense-- anti-heroes of course want to be heroic, what makes them anti-heroes is that life doesn't cleanly let you make the morally correct choices at all times. Situations with gray choices is what defines an anti-hero. So when you have such a braindead pointless choice as "DO YOU WANT TO BE GOOD, OR NOT AS GOOD?" duh an actual anti-hero of ficiton would pick the good option. This is retarded and the walk cycle sucks.
Basically, nobody chooses to be an anti-hero, they're just forced to be on in their attempt to be a hero.
I also don't understand how going left or right defines if you're good or bad or not
i think they mean like mass effect where you are fighting for a noble cause but you can choose to be a complete asshole or not
Kinda subtle.
Let's say you have to enter a door in order to save the world and a kid is blocking the way and you get the choices:
>act nice to the kid and give them a puppy to convince it to move
>kick the little shit out of the way
>color me rightous
>I'm an anti-hero
I hope that's placeholder text...
are you implying there is political allegory here
Yes.
may I remind you the game has onomatopoeia pop up whenever you defeat an enemy? its not very subtle
I said "kinda", didn't I?
Like several people have said, it has potential. It's no doubt an early build. However they need to get rid of the comic book text effects or at least reserve them for cut scenes. And the narrator needs to go or be toned down significantly. This game should be about immersion and it's impossible to be immersed with that dolt stating the obvious every goddamn second.
>Crappy furfaggot character creator
>The inside of the ear stays orange
>Combat looks mediocre
Meh, 2/10.
How early in development is this? It is in no condition to be shown.
Sure they could improve the combat and such but if they decided it's ready to be shown already I doubt combat was their priority, judging from the narrator it seems more interested in being something more story heavy but then you get that "do you want to be a hero or an anti-hero" shit
I doubt something good will come out of this one, I'd love to be proven wrong since that means I get more good games to play.
>Western game
>Fun
user...
Looks like guts fursona got thrown into horizon zer dawn's world.
I'm seriously disappointed they have a color wheel. Pretty much every character is going to look butt-ugly with that.
BANG
POW
The Antifa are violent too
KERSPLAT
They are mutated after all and we need more colorful games tbqh
Reminds me of a shooter from the early 2000s it thinkg with some kinds of furry cyborgs that was advertised because you could do damage in a lot of ways that would be reflected on the models.
>crash bandicoot gets a remake
>sonic has a good game finally
>a shitty bubsy game is in the works
>yooka-laylee releases, despite being kind of shit
>now this
the 90's animal mascot is making a return I see
>germans understanding fun
game is already DOA, they cant into things that are not technical, they dont understand comfy
>realistic environments and characters
>comic book floating sound effect words
>UI elements don't match at all
Was this game designed by committee or something?
Isn't it made by Swedish people?
>neon colored anthropomorphic characters
>comic book effects
>storybook narrator
>realistic, sort of grungy art style
>morality system
What is intended audience for this game?
People who likes gun I guess
>learn different kinds of kung fu
>get cybernetic body parts
>mutate body parts like wings or psi powers
Sounds too good on paper
Fun* fucking hell
This game needs so much more polish that it's not even funny.
>hey what if we take the atmosphere of dark souls+ STALKER, the combat of DMC, with a little bit of Max Payne and WET, and then COMIC BOOK effects?
>and make sure to have tho narrator be annoying and quest markers for every tiny thing so the player can't get lost at all
what a mess, desu.
>NEW QUEST: AVOID THE EXPLOSION
>bomb conveniently waits until after youre behind the door and locks it
Why are video game bombs so thoughtful?
Question
Can I play as the giant monster bear or do I have to play as the short stack hamster?
If you look at it as satire then it's kind of funny
the games not satire though, or its setting it up very bad.
Just like "Press F to Pay Respects." Or like "You don't need to protect Elizabeth. She can take care of herself during battle."
But there's no joke here. No punchline. Boy it sure feels like self-parody, but it obviously isn't.
>Ultimately, Ljungqvist says it’s a quest about personal discovery. Why does your character have an eyepatch? Where did he come from? What’s his name? These are all important mysteries that will Ljungqvist says will be paid off in ways more substantial than a handful of cutscenes that you watch at the end.
Pretty sure this confirms that you have to play as Rocket Raccoon
It's hella rough around the edges but once they get this shit more polished and refined (and also an option to turn off the Narrator, god that was the worst part of that video), I'd play the hell out of this game.
6/10, I'm cautiously optimistic.
I'm trying to see a positive side
There has to be something redeemable here
>There has to be something redeemable here
the concept. The first choice has me thinking theyre going to pull some "no matter what choice you make , everything was gonna turn to shit anyway". Also either uniting the tribes or apparently burning it all down. Some eerily similar dork souls references.
>Ljungqvist says that one of the team’s goals is to give players a personal ending, based on their actions in the game. For example, early in the game you learn that the tree of life is dying, and that its death could have a drastic effect on the currently lush landscape. Do you choose to help restore its power? You don’t have to, though you may have to live with the consequences. There’s a morality system in the game, and it doesn’t just revolve around you, either. There are six different tribal factions in the game, and when you start the game it randomly determines whether each one will be “good” or “bad” to put it in simple terms. You can choose to align yourself with one or several of these tribes, find a way to unite them, or simply slaughter them all and call yourself kind.
no there isnt
The positive side: It's Fable 4 for all those Fable fans still (bizarrely) out there
God fuckknf damnit.
I mean I don't mind, but something about mutant bears are sick as fuck. We don't et a lot of them and this and Days gone have given me hope
>it randomly determines whether each one will be “good” or “bad”
what fucking trash.
fuck this game already.
>Well it's in alpha still so
>Looks like it got potential.
It looks exteremely boring to play and it will take more than "potential" to fix it.
>That bar logo on bear's shirt
>instead of being a bear with a eye patch or a wolf we play as some meme critter
dropped. looks gay. i want to be a big bad ass animal like my real life fursona
That guns sound really satisfying.
I actually think the melee combat looks really fun, but I also like Ninja Theory games so maybe I'm not the best just of melee combat.
The only thing I don't like is the constant narrator. Hopefully he only talks a lot in the beginning of the game because that would get annoying after a while.
Complete with the inability to live up to it's promises
