Because Amy is a little girl.

It is Sonic Team being pissy about Sonic being a relationship.

Because it's contrived and uninspired. There's no real reason for it to happen and the characters would be worse off if it did. Sonic is one of the most generic paint by numbers by the books main characters ever, but the one thing you can give him credit for in being different is not going for the typical obvious in your face love interest. He actively wants no part of it, and that in and of itself is more dynamic than what other characters have.

In Sonic Boom Sonic actively wants a relationship with Amy.

Cause they dont at all and would rather keep the relationship as platonic as possible as to make easier to write and keeping the drama as low as possible from what is supposed to be a light hearted show for the most part

The show hints at it all the time.

Because the weird sexual tension they have makes for funnier jokes than if they were actually happy or whatever.

But SonSal was officially incorporated into Satam's plot and taken seriously by the storyboarders and writers. I don't see how a pairing is "contrived" or "uninspired" or how it would even clog down a character, really

Probably just standard sitcom writing 101 sexual tension that never goes anywhere because it's not supposed to.

It would be funnier then if they did get together. It would actually subvert a classic cartoon cliché.

Because making romance stories about a guy who is supposed to be cool being tied down to a stalker is awful.
Amy's creation and execution up until boom, was terrible and showed how not to make a good female character.
He whole character depends on sonic being around. The romance between them is just a poorly written Adam and eve thing. Amy is just a pink hedgehog so therefore she must go to sonic. Not because of a race of animals thing, because of a design thing. Sonic never needed Amy to begin with, they added her to have a damsel in sonics arms when he started running. That was the base of her creation.

It's because Amy was created for the sole purpose of being the girl that had a crush on sonic to reiterate how cool sonic was.
Her creation was only to be saved by sonic and not much else. With out sonic her character would never exist. She doesn't do anything but chase after sonic.

Because romance doesn't mix with any other ingredient in this pot

I mean you can make it work, maybe, but definitely not with those two characters

Amy has always been a joke character.

The funniest bit from Boom people post here is her specifically denying her Sonic doll is used for anything creepy, because that's a great example of her core joke.

Because it's cheesy and stupid. Why would a free spirited adventurer who's not committed to romance settle down with this annoying fan girl he's been trying to escaped for years?
