Everything is digital. It might not be a big deal to most people, but I can't give up on physical media yet.

Plug and play ease

>plug in ps4
>system update
>an hour later put in disc
>game needs to update
>2 hours later finally get to play
>have to pay PS+ subscription

okay

Uhhh piracy doesn't count

Not him but installing windows and then all of your drivers and then the games you want to play is probably more painful

Yakuza.

bloodborne is worth a ps4

>plug in system
>two hours of things that get done automatically
>pay for an optional service, or don't

It's still easier than PC, which is what many consumers want.

...

why not have a console AND a pc?

Awards don't mean shit. By that logic Fallout 4 is better than Bloodborne

>install windows
>everything from there on is automatic
wow user, you sure showed me

>all these "great" titles on pc
>primarily a pc gamer and bought one of them
>haven't played more than 3 hours on it in the last month
what a time to be alive.

Playstation vs. PC fights are the most amusing fights to watch.

lol

>PC
>either spend way too much money on a prebuilt, or spend hours looking for what you want on newegg for cheap.
>wait two weeks or spend extra to get it shipped quickly
>If you went newegg, then you now need to spend an hour assembling everything
>after assembly, you need to install your chosen OS and drivers
>download game because everything is digital, and wait for it download which can take a few hours depending on the size of the game and your internet speeds
>finally play your game

It's certainly not as easy as a console. It's much easier than before, but don't make it seem like it's not something an average consumer wouldn't be intimidated by.

Why buy a console though?

Whatever extra you would be better spending on the PC

who is she?

a living meme

paid online

For games you can't buy on PC, duh.

You're literally insulting your own intellegence by saying that

>paid online
And what online games would you exactly play on consoles which you can't on PC?

Like what?

Sorry what? I gave a realistic experience for starting to PC gaymen. You can go out and buy a console at your local supermarket electronics section, go home and plug it in and everything will be done automatically. Buying a PC from your local supermarket will net you an extremely weak PC for the money you spend.

PC costs a lot.

...

Yakuza or Project Diva. Or Sony first party games such as Gravity Rush.

No, It's another reason not to buy a console.

You forgot trails of nothing personnel

PS4 exclusives
Not waiting an excessive amount of time to play these games
More people have a PS4 over a PC to play these games
Larger communities in some cases like MH World

I have a PC and enjoy it. I also have a PS4 and enjoy it. I don't have to really choose or wait, having only one is the only dumb choice.

The Switch is legit useless though, since it has no games and is still sporting garbage hardware.

> Weeb rhythm game

You may have a point with interesting exclusives like Yakuza 0 and Gravity Rush 2.

Project Diva might not be a system sell, but it's definitely worth once you have the system.

pcgamer.com/yakuza-and-persona-are-on-that-list-of-games-sega-want-to-bring-to-pc/

WHY DOES EVERY CHARACTER WALK ONTO THE SCENE WITH THEIR FUCKING EYES CLOSED, LIKE OPEN YOUR EYES YOU FUCKING RETARDS, LOOK WHERE YOU'RE GOING

exclusives, of course. not going to wait 7 years for vanquish to get a port.

The main reason is because you know any game will work perfectly, all a developer has to do is test the game on one console and it works on them all.

You cannot say the same for PC.

if you cant afford a hobby, find a new hobby

There's one localized Yakuza game on PS4, next one is getting released next week, other one releases next year and yet another one is getting announced this Saturday in Japan. Even if they'll really bring Yakuza game on PC (which I doubt with current Sega), you'll be missing out on certain games in the series.

Promises aren't the same as them being on their. Why wait on something that may never happen, and when it does, it will be several years later?

Sorry to break it to you, but not all of us want to wait for a port or beg for one to play the games that we desire. I play mainly on PC too, I'm just not a retard that waits for emulation/ports to play old ass games.

The only exception is when the game performs awfully or can be heavily modded, like Dragon's Dogma or Dark Souls 1, otherwise most games dont need ports.

You only need to do this once. Steam takes care of all your needs.

I'll just play online on PC for free thanks.

This isn't exactly the case anymore. Many games are released broken with intentions to be fixed in patches. It's a shit ass anti consumer practice, and it's effecting PC and consoles instead of just one.

>trails of cold steel
>ni no kuni 2
>ace combat
>dragonball fighter z
>guilty gear
>blazblue
>.hack
>rez infinite
>helldivers
>everyone went to rapture
>metal gear solid 5
>monster hunter
>naruto
>destiny
>white day

sony lost so many exclusives this gen it's kinda sad.

>measuring performance by teraflops
But why?
There's more to GPU than pure shader math.

Steam is also digital only, it will take longer to start any game on steam than just putting in a disk or updating a console on occasion

How do you lose 'exclusives' that are multiplats?

running off your neighbors wifi?

>monster hunter
Nigger, the series is more is more of Nintendo at this point than Sony's.

>pcgamer
>quoting literal whos

It's kinda sad seeing you clinging on it like this.

Are you retarded? Do you not know how to check on a source? It's not pcgamer that said they want to port this shit on PC, they are citing a source. A source that they openly mention in the article.

Reminder that Sega in the west makes more money of PC games than consoles games.

>paying for internet twice

If you weren't poor you wouldn't have to wait for these games to "maybe" come to your platform "eventually". You could just play them now. Y0 and Kiwami run at 1080p 60fps and persona 5 is a turn based RPG so it doesn't matter. Think about it. You could have already played them and I'd go so far as to say that if you cared about these franchises in the first place you'd already have a PS4.

why not? everyones being fucked in the ass by ISPs anyway.

>Everyone
Amerilards*

Having all consoles, handhelds and a solid PC with multiple monitors is the ultimate setup.

>why not

typical console peasant

actually I am glad that it puts people off from psn/xbl in the same way that you had to buy your own mic on ps3

Your list makes me wonder if there is any reason to get a PC in this day and age, when all of its games are console ports. Sure, a console game costs a bit more than a PC game, but then again the console is far cheaper than a recent PC, even if you buy some kind of office tier HP prebuilt your'e going to spend around 300-400€, when a PS4 costs 200€.

I honestly barely ever use my PC, unless I want to either emulate some older system or shitpost. I have a gaming PC from 3 or so years ago which costed me around 700€, still rocking a 560Ti, i5 3570k, and some good ram & mobo from that time. My PC is less powerful than a PS4 but I see no fucking reason in hell to upgrade, because the only games I enjoyed on this fucking clunker were low requirements games, such as Ori, Shovel Knight, Brothers, Hollow Knight, Soma, and stuff like that, on top of emulation.

Also, the few times I actually BOUGHT the games on PC I regretted it, I bought Tales of Berseria on Steam and it took them A FULL FUCKING MONTH to patch the AI so that your party members weren't completely braindead and actually fought during battles, and this bug wasn't present on the PS4 version. With PC most of the times, games are not ready to be played on release, you always have to deal with some shitty bug or glitch, it's just retarded. On PS4 I never had to deal with any issue and I own like 20 games, most of them multiplats I bought for even cheaper than they were on Steam during PSN sales or second hand. To upgrade my PC and get it to a point it surpasses the PS4 I would need to get a GPU that would cost me more than the PS4 itself, and then I'd probably have to upgrade my PSU as well and waste lots of power to run it, while the slim PS4 peaks at 86W in full load.

PC gaming is the ultimate meme.

enjoy your services created/provided by amerilards. including this site.

it takes me about 30 min to reformat my pc and install the drivers. If Im not playing games off the disk, then i probably just have them already installed in an external drive. Worst case is i need to update or redownload a game at 13mbps, so another 5 min.

PC: Expensive box for games/work/utility
Ps4: Cheap box that plays games

I doubt you would get a 200 dollar pc with the same performance as a ps4 rn

especially considering what miners are doing to the videocard market, as well as memory prices

we're talking about a system or PC that is totally fresh. In the scenario where you need to go out and buy, then the console wins out hands down. Price performance the consoles also win. You will not be able to build a PC that can outperform a PS4 for $200.

>B-but muh 1080p60fps

Kek, Implying you dont have to digitally download your games too, except it takes 4 times as long and they probably dont even come patched. The option of driving to the store to get a disk that you have to download enough updates to make another game isnt making anything faster.

You my friend need to learn about the magic of ssds

because console still gets those games first.
also when I play my normie shit I can actually play with other people. Have you tried to play a call of duty game on PC lately? Either you get a match filled with hackers, or nobody, depending on the time of day.

If you're downloading digitally then the game you're downloading is the latest version, this applies to all platforms. If you're buying physical, then the game will be whatever version was available at the time of printing. You don't have to wait for an update to download however, and that also applies to all platforms.

? How desperate are you sonybros that you need to include my time spent purchasing shit from the store? You gonna factor in my gas money while youre at it? I can build a brand new pc and shop for the parts in like an hour time total, Drivers are extremely easy to get ahold of and install, all my games are physical media or already on one of my 6 hdds that would be put into the new pc, If I'm not allowed to have the games I already own, then ok, 5-10 more minutes spent downloading, whatever.

We're looking at the PC v console startup as an entirely clean slate. You may have special circumstances, but we're considering the viewpoint of a consumer who has never owned a gaming platform. In this case, it's far easier to get started with a console.

Your special circumstances are nice, but they have no bearing on the topic of the thread.

>You don't have to wait for an update to download
>they use magic to write the data from their servers instead

Moreover, the fact that I don't have to stare at an update screen and can still play games pretty much completely negates any kind of inconvenience that may have ever been presented to me in the first place. Updating is simply a non-factor to pc gamers

You don't have to wait for a download to finish to play a game on PS4. This is a fact, and you being ignorant of it doesn't change anything. You can play the game as much as you want, and then let the download happen in the background whenever you finish.

>He plays COD

Go play Siege or CS:GO, COD is for 13 year olds

and tradeskins:GO isn't?
siege is just garbage, they haven't fixed any of the lighting issues or fucking crashes on PC so I refuse to play it.

you guys are absolutely right. If you are poor and retarded, then consoles were literally made for you. We all knew this from the beginning, and you are the majority of the populace. Nobody is surprised, the thread was fun bait.

Woah all those sloppy seconds I already played

laughable

>le poor gamer meme

buddy, you sure are spiteful. What is it about PC that pushes people to be so angry?

>You can play the game as much as you want, and then let the download happen in the background whenever you finish

So what youre saying is, stare at the update screen because you cant play games while an update is going on. Nice dude

>elder god tier
cs source
>platinum tier
cod mw2
>high end tier
battlefield 4
>millennial cosmetics tier
csgo, overwatch, pubg

Are you actually retarded or just baiting?

lmgtfy.com/?q=can you play games while PS4 is downloading

>Modern Warfare "get the nuke to win the game" 2
>platinum tier

shit taste detected

You already played ace combat?

>retarded
you choose game while it's updating, say "launch anyway" and it launches anyway while it continues to download it in the background.

because i can? why is the thought of spending 300 dollars so horrifying to you faggots? i make that at work in a little over a day

>except it takes 4 times as long and they probably dont even come patched
Most do and it takes 4 times faster than downloading with a console

>a consumer who has never owned a gaming platform. In this case, it's far easier to get started with a console.

This is wrong simply on the basis that said consumer probably already has a computer in their home that they can probably already play games on.

there is no lighting or crashing issues on PC, it runs like a dream

>fallout 4 scored more gotys than mgsv
I know the critics were garbage cashuls but this... probably played with reflex too

it doesn't though, go check out their forums. Just because it works on your machine doesn't mean it's flawless.
also extreme money grubbing is pretty gay.

Most people don't own desktops, and those that do own prebuilts that would need serious upgrades in order to play anything that isn't indie games.

Why do people use low-budget shovelware that even most weebs hate like Gust games and SAO as fuel for platform wars?

How gut is mgsv? I never played any game of that series but picked that game up a week ago, haven't played it yet

because it's easy bait

>most weebs hate like Gust games
I've never seen such an obvious newfag like you. You do realize that before atelier sophie people actually defended gust at every turn because the games used to be good?

It's a good game, but clearly unfinished. Give it a play, it has easily the strongest, most free form gameplay in the entire series.

People still defend Gust at every turn.

What reason is there to go to a resteraunt in 2017? By digging in the dumpster outside, you can get:

Hamburgers
Tacos
Soups
Garlic Bread
Steak
Fish and Chips
French Fries
Apples
Salads
Hot Dogs
Pasta
Cookies

Tell me, why would you ever pay for good in a restraint when you can dig it out of the dumpster for free?
