good, uber comfy

i liked it at the time but it gets real old really quick whenever i try to play it again

Why not play it and find out instead of needing the input of others.

why not just close the thread instead of leaving the same useless post that has been made a thousand times

It's okay but too easy

Why don't you do the same.

...

Yosh.

It's an extremely comfy game hindered by all-melon runs being a bitch because it's beyond easy to miss one with no way to get it back.

It's the kind of game you'd rent for the weekend but not buy because it's not worth full-retail price. The art style is beautiful, the music is lovely and the game is a pleasure to play if you're in the mood for something simple and comfy.

I'm hoping the new game is like it because it really triggers my Nostalgia gland hard but Modern Nintendo always pile on the Saccharine in their new games.

God that main Switch theme makes me want to puke.

I never liked it much. Loved Yoshi's Island but Story seemed so weird. The way you beat levels by collecting fruit didn't make sense to me and the fact that there only were 4 stages per world made it really, really short, not to mention easy.
I also never liked the soundtrack. All of the Yoshi noises were too much for me and I hate that they decided to stick with that path for future games. They're annoying as fuck and the compositions aren't exactly great either and recycled the main theme too often. Only a few stand out to me.

Very comfy and with creative levels, but either ridiculously easy or ridiculously hard and cryptic depending on how much you care about all-melons.

haha

I was waiting for this post.

Got it to my birthday, beat it in less than 3 hours and returned it to get Duke Nukem 3D instead...no regrets!

This will now be stuck in your head for the rest of the year.

What the fuck was this fucking song? It sounds so goddamn weird.

It has a really good story.

>All of the Yoshi noises were too much for me and I hate that they decided to stick with that path for future games
Fucking this. I miss when Yoshi's voice was just weird record scratching sounds.

It has that underground vibe to it don't you think?

>returning birthday presents
Kill yourself you uncultured swine

Good game, bad sequel. Didn't hold a candle to Yoshi's island.

The point was in re-playability though, and trying to unlock all 24 levels.

I liked it, is it worth picking up Wooly World based on this?

Wooly World was alright. If you liked Story, you'll probably like WW. It's too easy though, so it might get boring.
Having a friend to co-op with remedies this somewhat.

only good if you try to only eat the honeymelons and nothing else

otherwise too babby mode boring

Best track

>that commercial with the two SUPER COOL kids playing it
>making it out to be all badass and shit
>get the game
>happy everything
>squeaky all over the place
>what the fuck
>still fun though

They sure marketed this game weird.

>Best track
>It's just the same fucking theme as all other tracks
They fucking dropped the ball on the soundtrack. Where are the original tunes? For fuck's sake.
The best song in the game is a rip-off of The Sugarplum Fairy, but at least it's good.

*Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy

Mother fuckers.

Every time.

Every GODDAMN TIME.

I kind of miss this game though, it was hard to me as a kid but I'm not sure it'd hold up to my nostalgia now that I'm old and bitter.

Everything was COOL and XTREME in the 90's. Even a game about pastel dinosaurs collecting fruit and tossing eggs at Baby Bowser with storybook aesthetics.

It's honestly not fun to play. There is absolutely nothing to the movement. It's plain and simple. Boring. But, that's okay as long as the levels are fun. Well, the only times it really gets interesting is when the level introduces some sort of gimmick, like flying on the leaves, or riding the weird snake things. Too bad it's all too easy so there is no challenge in doing anything. There are a few secret paths though, so that's something.
I genuinely kind of hate this game. It's such a huge disappointment in comparison to Yoshi's Island.

If you go for completion, WW is lots of fun and somewhat challenging. The second best Yoshi platformer (after the original YI)

Very comfy. Very nice aesthetic.

Every Yoshi game after Island sucks except Wolly World. That one is alright.

Yeah, it alright.

How is this game?

It's great.

>hindered by all-melon runs being a bitch
But collecting the melons is just about the only good thing about the game.
The melons makes the game great though.

But without the melons you can just run through the melons with practically no care for finding secrets and you can avoid most enemies and you still get just about the highest score you could get for a melon less run.

The melons are what puts the game into the game. All of a sudden secrets matter. You have to learn the full layout of the stages and how to traverse them, not just the shortest route to the end. And you can no longer ignore all the enemies. All of a sudden the game part of the game starts to take itself seriously.

Well there's one guy ITT who will tell you it's absolute tripe. I remember it being charming and fun as heck as a kid, but that was about twenty years ago now. You can probably emulate it without much effort and see for yourself if you're so inclined. It can get surprisingly challenging at times from what I remember. Very very child-like though. Almost too saccharine for my tastes now.

POOP, LOOK AT MY POOP
POOP, LOOK AT MY POOP
POOP, LOOK AT MY POOP LOOK AT MY POOP LOOK AT MY POOOOOP

there are no good yoshi games

This guy kinda spooks me

Hmm..

Man, I remember that asshole... that level was stressful with him flying around and forcing me to avoid him while trying to platform shit.

user that's an underwater level

So it is. I see the fish. Still doesn't change the fact that he was a bastard.

I must not remember the underwater segments as being particularly bad like the usually are. Did I just block those horrible swimming levels out of my mind? Or were they really kind of okay?

they were pretty cozy honestly between the relatively relaxed environment and the music, though this thing creeps me out too

Artstyle was pretty sick, how some levels were cardboard, some were stitched together, some were made of balloons, it was a really unique looking game.

Haha

>uber
>comfy
Kill yourself.

Yeah it's a really good looking game that's just a muddle mess gameplay-wise.

You can get an invincibility item in the FINAL BOSS ROOM. Fuckin' why.

I'm watching a playthrough of the game because I haven't played this game since like kindergarten, but I remember everything I'm seeing very vividly now and it seems like the game is pretty good except for the fucking yoshi noises, which single handedly prevent the game from being comfy.
