He was far more of a fun fight in the beta and I really wish I could have fought him in the alpha where positioning had real importance and the game made sense with itself
He's not so bad until you get to WotW where all the human bosses become walking nightmares
>put a paralysing groundtrap
>he slow walks into it, gets fucked
> throw my kusarigama scythe
> grapple him
> L1 + triangle
> final blow
> repeat till BTFO
Not only really. You just have to grind for better eq and up your dps. Then destroy dis fagt with kunai.
Are dual swords the most defensive weapon type?
Even their trademark set is heavy.
>not fighting 1 on 1 with 1kat like a man without magic bullshit and gaijin's tricks
It's a dishonor to your opponent to not fight with 100% of your fighting ability.
>without magic bullshit
that's kinda not fair when he swims in magic bullshit himself
Cute doggie.
IZA
Heavy is less about being defensive and more about being able to tear shit up without flinching/knockback. 2kat has some nice counters, though.
Not counting the DLC weapons (because I don't have them) they have on average the highest parry stat and the only mystic art that directly boosts your defence so while you can use them or any weapon any way you want to, they do have a lot going for them defensively.
IZA!
Why don't spanish women look like this irl
Can you still do that in the game?
Nice hat, fag!
I literally look like this.
Never played beta and alpha. How was it back then?
Yeah.
hey
Well good luck with that on wotw
a'ight, let's a-see who flinches first.
Nioh is GOTY. No doubts.
LONDON
Beta was a bit similar but with a lot of balance changes on moves and enemies. Most notably was that elixirs both took twice as long to use and healed about half to two thirds as much as they did, enemies had more health overall and in particular weakspots like oni horns weren't so pathetically fragile. Enemies were a bit more aggressive as well and there were more of them in many places, they got stripped out of the full release making many places feel much more empty, and being hit when out of breath knocked you down like enemies.
Alpha though, that was night and day compared to how it is now. For a start, actions that depleted the last of your Ki would tire you out so you had to be much more aware of what you're doing, and it applied to Living Weapon too. Movement during lock on was different, running (not walking, guarding or dodging) would turn you around so positioning was far more important and you couldn't circlestrafe enemies that clearly weren't designed around it. Enemies were far more aggressive, had even more health (as much as they actually should have in this kind of game) and would actually pursue you over huge distances so you couldn't just cheese them out, but could reposition and do samurai style runs to spread groups out without them all quitting. They did slightly less damage but being hit from behind was much more of a threat and more deadly too, making it all just more of a thoughtful deep real ass samurai game. There's probably far more I'm forgetting and many smaller but important changes, like Combo Pulse being on high stance which felt so much better and satisfying, but that's a start anyway.
The sad thing is that the changes came far too late so it's really obvious the game isn't designed around how it is now, but they don't attempt to go back on it even with them trying to include new modes to keep people playing, especially when it all fits perfectly with what the game is said to be.
I bought the special edition with season pass at release, why does it say I need to pay money for the second dlc?
>they will probably transform her into some monster in last DLC instead of giving her to William for dicking all the evil out of her
You talking to me nerd!?
Daily reminder that she's a real life whore
>zero enemy variety
>ng3 tier bosses
>annoying loot system
GOTY indeed
...
Oh right, other than that webm showing the superior camera angle that they didn't even have as an option, or that the imps were actually a threat since they got healed on transforming, or being able to change stance to use any and all of your skills during Living Weapon, I didn't even mention the worst change of all. There used to be a different animation for when you throw the blood off your katana on sheathing, while the twirl was specifically for the Ki Pulse sheathe. Instead they made the twirl the only one for when it's bloody which completely undermines and ruins the point of it, and it's completely baffling that they would think to remove something so simple that they already spent effort on when it would only make things worse.
>Next DLC is Summer campaign of Osaka
>This is where Yukimura and Masamune historically met and fought each other.
Can't wait for Sengoku Basara memes and references all over the place.
>does another lap around the rock
I wish i had screen capped all those faggots dismissing any warnings that Soulsfags were gonna ruin this game by flooding the feedback.
The game would have still ended up with some major problems like the enemy variety and their often dull moveset, but at least it wouldn't be a fucking mess core gameplay wise
post ayane nigger
Sad to hear. But well, what can you expect from people who tried to turn Ninja Gaiden into Bayonetta?
w-what?
If Nier: Automata hadn't come out this year Nioh would have been my GOTY for sure.

I love this game but it's really hard to keep playing after a month. I need to take massive breaks inbetween gameplay or else it starts to feel like work.
>implying those nasty elitist Soulsfags weren't the ones shitting up the threads during Beta because they noticed how the game was being made easier and simpler and this game should never be hard ever
Jokes aside though, it's still ironic how that was turned around. Anything to force the opposition into a "side" I suppose.
Enemy variety is already somewhat accounted for with (what remains of) the combat depth and variety of approach which is fantastic purely on the merits of it already being so initially, and I wouldn't say all enemies have dull movesets, but because enemies were much more aggressive, pursued longer and were more numerous I think it actually would have been much better on that front. It's extremely telling on the Umi-bozu fight, his moveset just works so much better with his helpers, and Twilight missions at least were meant to come with additional enemies during boss fights, which really changed things up. It could also be that part of the reason the rarer yokai types are less seen is because they were among the ones removed from areas, but who can say? I can because I'm bitter as fuck.
Apparently NG3 was so bad because Hayashi wanted to turn it into Bayonetta which he thought was more successful game.
Well by all metrics it pretty much was so I can't blame him.
>high stance axe
>implying you have any ki left
Delete
Maybe but Ninja Gaiden had its own identity. There's literally no reason to mimic other action games.
> Impuraingu
Fix
mfw even WoTW difficulty is only really hard in the DLC mission to fight with the entire Date clan
the rest is pretty easy
>married 4 times
>had 4 kids
>in an age before simple contraceptives
She had less sex than the average woman has before graduating highschool
That doesn't make much sense to me but this is coming from the same person who chose to listen to all the worst and least informed survey entries to make a game that's designed to be a dark samurai action RPG focused on combat depth and challenge be purposefully weaker in all those aspects.
Pfft, so you beat two kings and meet on the shore on wotw? I won't even try those even tho I beat everything else
odachi does a lot of damage
>beta muneshige
New boss against Masamune and Yukimura at the same time
> has a wife
> beta
U wot m8
I beat all the prerelease stuff and honestly it's not that different.
Post yfw new dlc come out and there are couple of missions where you have to fight Date and Shigezane again
From the last chance beta
>cucked by Hideyoshi
I'm not sure i understand what you're trying to say but i think you are implying that I'm wrong in blaming a certain group of people. Clarify.
Can anyonr confirm how hand samuri set, bear and low ki axe skill got nerfed?
You would have to have beat it blindfolded to not notice the countless differences. Another one I've remembered is that some skills had unique inputs between weapons. Spear in particular had Windmill and Entangle done with a half circle and Triangle, and you could actually see remnants of this in the Beta, as in the skill video for 2kat's Windstorm, he does a clear 360 before the move comes out. You also only equipped one ranged weapon (only bows at the time) and chose ammo from the equip screen (though there was only one type available), but there was a quickshot you could do without aiming by just tapping the button.
Admittedly I haven't seen too much of the Last Chance Beta and it was the only one I never got to play but from what I have seen the damage had already been done by then and it was essentially the same as the retail version.
SUMMON... wait, that's not Karl.
There are a bunch of superficial changes that don't significantly impact the way the game is actually played for competent players.
Choked when he was 1 hit from death, never got to beat him before the beta ended
You better be pulling my leg with this talk of axe nerfing KT I swear to fucking god
Did they add PvP? Is it fun?
That makes absolutely no sense, vanilla NG3 is just bad, it's nothing like Bayonnetta which is mediocre for different reasons
hey, Hey, HEY!
Don't shift the blame to the devs, they did exactly what everyone in this website constantly rants about, listening to the "community". Tough shit that the "community" are a bunch of fucking nu-gaming retards who understand as much about game design as i do about quantum physics, a status that this cesspool had a hand in creating and still does in maintaining.
They wanted to sell a game and asked people what they wanted, and what people wanted is more of the same garbage.
During the Alpha, "Soulsfags" were indeed among most of the people bitching because their carried over skills didn't apply and they refused to adapt or learn, and got called out often, like in that greatest of pastas. But when the Beta came around, the people who criticized the changes the most because they took away a lot of the challenge and depth were written off as "Soulsfags" who only wanted the game to be hard, even though they were the ones who originally complained about how the game was and were actually welcoming the changes when they weren't complaining that it was still too hard.
I was just adding I've always found it pointless to slap a label on groups in such arguments as it just fosters aimless discontent, especially with how it got turned around and since any real Soulsfag would have adapted and appreciated the game for what it was because they're not defined by any one series.
C-Can I pet that dog?
>That makes absolutely no sense
Like pretty much every thing Hayashi do.
Most of the bitching came from the japanese.
Didn't the majority of Japanese players claim that the demo of FFXV packed in with the Type-0 remaster was too complicated? Crazy stuff.
True creators never listen to any "community". Just remember Kamiya and Itagaki and those focus group tests. That's because they're actually competent game designers who know what they're doing. Nioh was first attempt to make something new from modern Team Ninja and they clearly wanted to play it as safe as possible. There's no strong game director behind the team.
Removal of durability was the only good decision they made based on alpha.
Not sure, I just remember seeing stats for the surveys they had with the alpha and beta. I responded to all of them saying the game was great.
They're not superficial at all, they all have dramatic and far-reaching effects on player mindset and strategy. Trying to say something doesn't matter because when you're better at the game you can work around it is ludicrous, misses the entire point of game design and I still don't know why people think it's any kind of argument.
That's true, but I figured he would at least have some backbone and stand behind his vision. I suppose I'm just disappointed that the one time a developer actually uses alphas and betas for their real purpose and listens to people, they act on it in the worst way possible.
As an example I don't think limited blood vials are a significant design decision because they don't affect competent players.
The Japanese have gotten way more casual in recent years, they've mainly fallen to the mobage scourge.
Not even that was a good decision because it was an additional balance factor and was not nearly as big an issue as people made it out to be but I'm not getting into that shit again.
>it was an additional balance factor
Yeah i really needed even more headache with equipment in loot-heavy game
Really glad they didn't listen to retards like you and just removed durability, it shouldn't exist outside of resource management-based games.
>muh labels
If it looks like shit, smells like shit and tastes like shit, there's a very good chance that it's not chocolate. If you don't think these people are largely responsible for the state of this game then there's also a label for you: fool. It was easy to predict, hard not to acknowledge and it all came true. I'm also not limiting myself to 4chin threads, it was a general behavior everywhere, EVERYWHERE. You can still go look it up if you somehow missed it, plebbit, neofags, gamefaqs, youtube, no matter where you went all you heard was "souls, muh souls, why can't i like souls, souls clone, le souls XD", threads were being organized to flood the feedback with their horseshit, every single literal who souls cancer e-celeb let's player jumped on board. This is what the game developer looked at for feedback. I don't see the point in denying the truth.
But all the western feedback was positive, it was japan that whined about the game. I have survey results supporting my argument.
This thread is going to shit thanks to 2 fagts
He's right, durability was fucking dumb and this is coming from someone who really likes the durability mechanic in Dark Souls 2.
They could have just really nerfed the rate it goes down at, but it being gone is not a big deal.
It was pointless. If you were garbage it punished you, and if you were good it was absolutely irrelevant. I was always sitting on max repair items.
Nioh threads wouldn't get past 40 replies and 15 IPs otherwise, don't kid yourself.
This isn't really a Bloodborne thread, but that's incorrect because having them as a limited resource coincides with them being able to be more valuable since you can use them for more bullets. It's also there to help encourage rallying which is a huge instrument in making the combat more aggressive. Being more competent means you can take greater risks and have more vials to heal back up, or use them to fuel bullets. Granted the balance wasn't perfect but that's not down to the existence of vials. Something being in place to encourage improvement and better decision making is not a bad thing either.
t. fag #1
sure, just make sure the mode is skill and you fight with preset build and gear depending on your main weapon and guardian spirit
I understand what the intention is. But I don't think a mechanic that punishes shitty players and leaves competent players untouched is necessarily good.
I think you should aim to balance the game around competency as much as possible.
cant believe you're still around alpha tantrum kun
You mean like this one?
I'd rather just call people stupid or uninformed and explain why rather than just go "ur just a dumb (...)fag" because taking sides in the Sup Forums sense has proven time and again to make for nothing but pointless shitflinging. Call me crazy but I'd rather just talk about videogames and call people retarded from time to time without getting tribal about it. It doesn't change that people calling the game a Souls clone and then complaining that it's not like Souls enough are being pretty retarded.
How do I know you used nothing but low stance and 1kat?
...
because that's a nordic woman not a med woman
