I really hope so. They said the the mobile game is set to launch during this fiscal year and it's supposed to interact with the console game, so hopefully they'll come out close to each other.

Some countries still have new copies of those on store shelves, they're pretty easy to produce. I can't find an image of it, but they made new boxart without the Nintendo WFC logos.

They should just drop the whole special character species being exclusive thing, would open up a ton of new villager types.

What if the new Animal Crossing just included Amiibo party as a gamemode? And the game's board actually matched your town?

What I desperately want is for the town to be surrounded by a dense, explorable woodland. I want the woods to be so much larger than the town that you can get lost in them and the game would have to have a heavy focus on camping. You could gather shit in the woods similar to BOTW and take it back to town for selling/baking/crafting. You could also stumble upon random gifts, secret fishing spots, rare bugs, hidden characters and more stuff like that. Whenever in the woods you have to worry about survival mechanics (hunger, thirst, exhaustion, fear).
This is all optional gameplay outside the town. You could always stay inside the town and have a classic Animal Crossing experience.
Also, there's photography in the game as the new way to put stuff in the museum. And if you go the the beach you can play Wii Sports Resort style games.

That would encourage Japanese children to wander in their own forests where they would get lost and die because that's actually a problem there.

That would be a problem anywhere where people live near dense forests, it's not the responsibility of game devs.

My number #1 hope is more variation in villager dialogue, it's really sad how much their dialogue repeats in New Leaf. It's the main reason why I stop playing.

Maybe add more dialogue through updates after a year or so?
