No, because people don't buy consoles for performance. The easiest way to ensure console sales is to promote a good library of exclusives to go along side multiplats. Sony get that, so someone looking to pick up a PS4 or an Xbox will look at the game libraries and realise they'd be missing out on Xbox.

Please excuse the shitty screenshot of a video, but it does highlight what I mean pretty well. Improving console performance isn't going to fix the biggest issue putting people off Microsoft consoles this generation. Also worth looking at how many of the Xbox games are sequels compared to the other platforms. It doesn't do much to encourage console sales.

Have you got a source for your claim that exclusives don't sell? I understand they might not compared to your multi-platform AAA shit shows, but I think you'll find they have a massive appeal to a consoles 'core' audience. Also worth noting that if you buy consoles based on your friends choice, then that friend has had to make a decision himself without that easy choice. At that point stuff like libraries make a big difference if you're not a dedicated MS/Sony fan.

Look up sales for games like Nioh or even this super hyped piece of shit Bloodborne. Those games get 1-2 mil sales at most.
They dont sell for shit considering the amount of consoles sold. Those who actually care about diverse libraries are a really tiny part of the consumerbase on the PS4/XBO.

The multi platform AAA shit shows are what average people want and its what they buy their consoles for.
And obviously people buy the systems other bought to play together, its peer pressure in effect.

Sup Forumsro there's no need to act like we're arguing, we just disagree. I don't love Sony and I don't hate Microsoft, we just disagree in what the average persons buying habits are. I can look up sales figures but when I do, I find that the sales for popular exclusives are consistent, even if they don't compete with COD sales for example.

A more interesting and revealing figure would be multiplat sales for PS4 compared with Xbox. By your logic, we'd see no difference in the number of sales as people just buy whatever. If a good library effected sales, we'd see COD/FIFA/whatever selling better on the PS4 more often than not. I can't find that data annoyingly, but it would be interesting. Not my last reply because we're not mad at each other.

Xbox One X is an actual improvement over the Xbox One unlike the PS4 Pro to PS4. The one thing Microsoft lacks though is a solid lineup of first and third party exclusives you can't get on PC.
