Starbound isn't that bad of a game. I'd consider it mediocre. It just needed to not have that protectorate questline involved and let you just freely explore space. That and get the game optimized.

Would've been nice if their design philosophy during early access was "let's try to improve things" rather than "let's remove things". They wasted a bunch of time hyping up the fucking mushroom people for it to become completely irrelevant at Cheerful Giraffe.

One good thing about this game is that it's not as terrible as No Mans Sky.

Eh, you can pretty much completely ignore the storyline and go explore the space. I agree on optimisation though, the game seems to suffer from bizarre lags that look more like ones from a multiplayer game than those caused by slow hardware.

it had a lot of potential, but i really don't like how you can completely exhaust the worldgen and see every pre-built structure after exploring maybe 5 or so planets

some of the races are hot as fuck but that would mean im a furry.

i loved everything about the idea of starbound but for some reason it just never clicked for me like terraria did. Just something feels stiff about the controls and i couldn't enjoy it. Its been a while since i've given it another shot i think it was earlier this year.
