Rather them localize the Mana Collection over. Wasn't impressed.

I'm butthurt. Legend of Mana should've received a remake.

Never going to see my waifu Sierra in modern graphics.

Do you really want to see a Legend of Mana remake without the godly pre-rendered background art?

I love Secret of Mana so much. Pure nostalgia talking. The music still makes me want to cry and I am a grown man. This looks really bad though and it makes me very sad. Hopeful it looks a lot better closer to release but I won't hold my breath.

Are you implying they wouldn't remake the pre-rendered background art and sprites? I would buy a LoM remake because I put so many hours in it to complete the game.

My first playthrough had me finishing the game without knowing about the recruitable harpy/her hidden final story + I managed to miss the tutorial level completely by accident.

>Are you implying they wouldn't remake the pre-rendered background art and sprites?

Yes. It doesn't happen. They would make the game in true 3D with textures and polygons.

>Switch gets snes roms in a cartridge
>PC and Vita(kek) get a full remake that the switch can't handle

>voice acting

Will they actually improve the game?
Currently playing and the game seems pretty generic with a nice OST.
Did people only like it so much because it has a great OST and is a RPG with multiplayer?

>Did people only like it so much because it has a great OST and is a RPG with multiplayer?

Pretty much. It has a decent enough story too, once you get into it.

Pretty much. The soundtrack is golden and it's a game you can play with your little brother so he doesn't bitch about you hogging the SNES. These are the reasons people liked it.

Basically. Nostalgia aside, I recognize that the game is mediocre. But that title theme brings me to my knees.

I feel like I would have been a lot more excited if it was still 2D, or at least good 3D. Instead we got what looks like a phone game, and it looks far worse than the original.

I played through Legend without ever finding out about the crafting mechanic because I never entered the back side of the house.

>no Legend of Mana
Whatever

>Remake is throwing out the OST

It was a game I played with my mom. Maybe we'll play again.

is this true?

You can use the old soundtrack instead of the new one, but there's nothing to indicate that Kikuta is involved with the new one.

There's really not much to say because SE hasn't told us very much about it except, "Hey, it's a thing." I hope that the "enhanced gameplay" means dropping the fucking ring system.

>means dropping the fucking ring system.

But then how am I gonna cheese bosses by spamming gem missile?

Cool. Thanks for the info user

Insanely overpriced for a remake of an old game, not to mention that it only looks good on phones

Didn't they say it's ditching the stamina system?

I feel as though visually, it'd look much better if they did more work with shadows, and tried to make the characters and environment more to scale with each other, instead of going for a pseudo-chibi style.

>obvious super low budget title
>with voice acting
>and "improved gameplay"
>also digital only
>$40

Secret of Mana didn't deserve this

I'm sure plenty of people are bitching, but having played the SD1 remake I'm game for this. They already did a spectacular job with that.

>The voice acting is shit

good, fix some of the jank

Unless the final version looks MUCH MUCH better than what they have shown right now I think they are ripping us off. I'll buy it at a discount after a year or so.

And I love the franchise, I just don't want to pay 40 fucking dollars for a phone quality game.

>tfw a niche character will finally have the chance to get some porn drawn of them, since they'll be somewhat relevant again

I personally loved it for its world. it feels huge and is really fun and satisfying to explore

What about Seiken Densetsu 3 Sup Forums? What would you want for it if they remade it today?

I remember the class system being pretty nice on that game.

>3D
>$40
No thanks.

Unless they added a way to turn off voice acting and added the removed content of the original game.

>branching paths for classes
>on a fucking snes RPG

holy shit

I would want the SNES version in English with a widened visible area and / or zoom level options to accommodate today's higher resolutions and no other changes.

seikens.com/seiken-densetsu-3/class-changing/charlotte/

evil shaman ftw

Will they fix this asshole?

wouldn't you want to change how magic works? it pausing the gameplay for everyone every time someone casts sucks, they could make magic instantaneous at least.

Multiplayer and fixed 3 player mode, also all players be able to move on their own trough maps.
Im not asking for much.

Personally I liked Secret of Evermore

It was the same game with less weebshit, and you could beat it solo

I didn't have friends to play it with....

I wish this was around when i played it 5 months ago
The fucking retarded AI on the original really makes it almost un-enjoyable

>Use charged bow
>Problem fixed

You are supposed to play it in multiplayer so other chars dont get stuck.

>looks like 3ds game
>steam/ps4

yeah fuck you no. I'd rather just go find a rom and replay it. If your going to remake classic and put it on console/pc then make it amazing.

Look at .hack Gu coming out soon. Remastered, updated and with brand new part 4 content/story to work through +sound track.

Then you look at this, 3ds level of meh. Only good thing that will come out of this is Primm porn.

>make character models bigger and map smaller

This. It's why i never finshed seiken densetsu 3. Chain casting magic was horrible for gameplay. Espically more so in SoM when you just want to levle the spells.

...

Dont the other 2 villains get slaughtered by the story villain at the mana holyland?

A great game that's going to be ruined by voice acting and lazy graphics
And then there's that minimap. What the fuck is that even there fore?

HEY GUYS

AT LEAST

AT
LEAST

THIS ISN'T LIKE

Breath of Fire 6

Ugly, looks like it belongs on the 3DS or a cell phone. But that's the Mana series for you: Constantly being mistreated for years.

>not using the color patch

Yes. It depends on your main character.

Secret of Evermore is less frustrating for me because
>Can still move at full speed while charging
Shuffling about like an idiot in SoM is so aggravating.

3DS can't handle those graphics.
Phones, meanwhile, are capable of much better graphics.
It's really weird.

>Shitty voice acting
>Not HD sprites
>Looks like a fucking IOS game on PS4 - Original looks better
>$40 for such a fucking mess

It's gonna be shit.

And it's going to sell like hotcakes.
This is the world we live in.

>No character shadows
>Some walls cast shadows, others don't, there is zero rhyme or reason as to which ones and why
>Shadows being cast don't even match the walls or have consistent angles on them
>Minimap shows different shadows
>All this over a black void

>voice acting

It could easily be a 3DS game if not for the resolution.

I didn't even like the original

They could have put up the SNES version, charge 15 bucks for it and probably would make more money from it.

Here's the best part: some of the screenshots DO have shadows.

>on every pc,ps4,vita
>not on switch
>mfw now 5 months after the systems launch and no games

And nintendfags give vitabros an hard time, friendly reminder in japan alone, the vita has close to 600+ titles give or take, the switch has maybe in total 60+

mother of fucking keks.

WRONG ART DIRECTION.

It looks cute.
I never played Secret of Mana so this seems like a good way to get into it. It looks like its going to have online co-op too which is pretty rad. Digital only is kind of lame but I play on PC so this is nothing new. Hopefully Square will put Adventures of Mana on Steam too eventually, and it'd be cool if they keep up these old remakes too. Live A Live perhaps? That said the price is a little high. I'll still go for it but if it were about half that it'd be much better.
>weebshit as a criticism
Fuck off and don't come back

The whole Mana series is on the Switch though

lol

Good news though Nintendo fans, at least the original Secret of Mana will be on the SNES Classic for ya.

I'm not the biggest fan of SoM, so it's w/e unless it means we get a western SD3 release out of it.

>Legend of Mana
>Sword of Mana
>Children of Mana
>Dawn of Mana
>Heroes of Mana
>all the mobile games

My bad
Secret of Mana and a couple others are on there in a collection though

I hope there's some good features. Like in Fina Fantasy IV/V/VI Advance. Those games were the same but had extra features.

I like that there's good graphics and voices. But a good remake has more than that.

This. I just want SD3.

That game was a magical part of my childhood

>mfw the english strategy guide was complete fucking shit for this unorthodox game, and you were one of the first people who figured out the hardest quests and are credited in the most popular FAQs everyone uses online
>mfw the small twinge of pride in having a tiny piece of e-fame with a game you love and a tiny story to tell when discussing dudbear language and non-gay gem people amongst people with sophisticated tastes

I think he meant the whole seiken densetsu series.

Still he would be wrong since it would be missing 4.

>the japanese guide is literally as thick as a dictionary

>dudbear language

No one cares.

I could never import a Pocketstation for whatever that did. I had some sort of in-game collection list with a hole in it as a result. I think they could gather materials otherwise absent in the US game? Fucking nips, giving us half a product. Shit guide, no Pocketstation without importing, fuck my childhood

Yeah. That's not saying much though.
SoM3D is a 50 dollar slap in the face. BoF6 is like watching the person you hate the most rape the person you love the most, and watch that beloved person slowly go from hating it to liking it all while that hated person looks you in the face, and there's nothing you can do about it. Also, the Tsujimotos are pouring their wine on top of you and them while this happens.

The absolute worst part is knowing that BoF6 fucking sucks as a game on top of all that.

I actually bought a pocketstation with the LoM game loaded
it's kinda neat

Voice acting is shit. The rest I simply do not know.

didn't give my name, you jealous baddie. Sorry you'll die unknown and alone!

>dudbear language

Gak!

The music in that town was great though.

Game looks great to me, better than the SNES version by a mile. Do want.

>The Vita is still alive while the Wii U is dead

What a time to be alive

I hated that whole fucking landfill for toys area. Could there be a worse design for an area than that? Childish palette and insane premise, didn't fit at all with the other land pieces. What a hellhole

Senate, is that you? Did you ever get your fucking power wrist?

different game, and what an ancient meme. Was that the guy's name? Seems weird for a gamer handle.

>seikens.com/seiken-densetsu-3/class-changing/charlotte/
there's almost no difference between the branches, it just fucks you over when the enemies don't drop the item so you can class change because you just level up with max stats and waste a level.

Who are the voice actors?
I want to say Primm is Wendee Lee (maybe), but I have no idea about the others.

Yeah, maybe politics made him so mad it seeped into his vidya.

>You can use the old soundtrack instead of the new one

Oh thank fuck. Purchase is now back into consideration. Wasn't happy at all with the new direction of the main theme. Part of this game's soul is its soundtrack.

>Good news though Nintendo fans, at least the original Secret of Mana will be on the SNES Classic for ya.

Yeah, that's if they can ever get a hold of one to start off with.

SD3 will most likely happen the following year.

Not to mention the minimap (why is there one?) doesn't even match the geometry or visuals of the actual level. Probably because it's just the original game's actual map.

Talk about baffling design choices.

>Probably because it's just the original game's actual map.
It is not. I don't know why I see people keep saying this because you can easily see that they're different if you compare them.

it's the map from the mobile remake
