Vampires thread

You have been... no, no, you are going to China. Why is he smiling? The father? Is it- Is it the father behind him? You chased it for the one at the top of the city... on the sea... oh, underground... ha, you found it... in the crypt, heh... it's open... hoh, he... it's open... oh god, oh god, run!

God dammit user I have newer games in my backlog, I can't be replaying this for the eleventh time

I sided with the kuei jin in my malkavian run

You can't post this in a christian board user!

IS THAT

>tfw Knox was actually playing with you the whole time

what a boss

You can call out his manipulation if you have an inspection feat of >=3

Why did the three Sabbath shit their pants when Nines showed his grenade? Are grenades really that scary to vampires?

I wonder if his friendly personality is bullshit too.

Can someone post that graph that compares the power level of vampire and other supernatural beings?

He manages to kill a werewolf with one, so I'm pretty sure he can insta kill them. Vampire are extremely flammable, and if one shrapnel finds it's way to the heart, they'd be paralyzed.

Is this the only time Inspection is useful at all? Is it even worse than Seduction after Santa Monica?

A grenade is probably as dangerous to a vampire as any modern weaponry gets

There are boards for this, you know?

MODS

For a dialogue check yeah, that's the only time it is used at all.

I've seen however that many let's players and presumably many first-time players can miss some occult artifacts if they aren't highlighted by the inspection blue dots above them. Some artifacts like the Mummified fetish in the Tzimisce house and the Saulocept in the Giovanni mansion are very powerful and very easy to miss if you don't explore every corner. High inspection could reveal them for the player that would ordinarily miss them.

It's definitely NOT a good investment in terms of XP spent and benefits gotten overall. So just exploring every part of a level will render inspection meaningless.

Weekly reminder that compmod allows you to enslave every single important female NPC of the game and to taunt them and has voice acting and is compatible with the last GOG game.

Althoug I'm actively suffering through influenza realted fever dreams, something still seems awry with this image

he did use to be a bounty hunter so he might be a real mean but incredibly charismatic dude.

Money, right?

You sick necrophilliac fuck

...

In the plus patch the seduction was made to be as useful as persuasion if you're a female, same thing with intimidation with both male and female characters.

where can i get a flamethrower

The Notorious F.A.T

I am both thirsty as fuck for a new VtM game to be made, a proper game and not that mobile/tablet bullshit, and despairing of such a thing to come, because they could fuck it up in so many ways.

I can allready see
> Full off unironic DUDE MEMES LMAO
> Full off unironic political shit DUDE TRUMP ORANGE MAN IN WIG LMAO
> Full off Tzimiscetransphobia privilege
They should just open up a secret studio somewhere in the sewers and make the game without letting anyone know so no one can't complain and then quietly release it under the radar for vmtb fans

Unless the new VTM game was headed by the original devs working at Obsidian or studios like CDPR that will have worked on table-top adaptations after CP77, I would urge everyone to stay the fuck away from sequels. I'd rather VTMB's threads don't get shit up in the future by people who played a hypothetical crappy sequel.

thanks dude.

Which makes it all the stranger new WoD game is a werewolf one. You'd think vampires would be print money seeing as it's the most recognized game line.

that's pretty pathetic

VtM is rooted in the 90s and goth culture, though. It simply wouldn't work if adapted to current climate.

IMO, that's what the makers of Project Vaulderie should have done. Don't fucking announce your fan-based remakes of games until it's done and out, released with proxy and under fake names, otherwise you'll just get C&D'd.

How many of the devs from VtM:B are at Obsidian? I know Cain and Boyarsky, but anyone else?

Also, it'd be really fucking hard to get the same kind of quality soundtrack. Even Rik Schaffer said he wasn't sure he could match himself from those days.

Obsidian did say they were working on something new and secret quite a while back, and it had nothing to do with PoE 2 or Tyranny or whatever else they got cooking. Someone here also recently commented that Boyarsky and Cain weren't part of the teams that were developing PoE 2, so yknow, there's some hope.

what happened to the goths anyway?

>How many of the devs from VtM:B are at Obsidian? I know Cain and Boyarsky, but anyone else?

They're missing the design guy of the Troika trinity - Jason Anderson. He did work on Wasteland 2, but is with the studio that developed Evolve.

They grew up probably

do you have that interview with Rik Schaffer, love the music of bloodlines a lot and would have loved to see what the man himself is saying.

I am almost there

why does requiem have such good art? I mean, when they try to keep it consistent.

I have this.

Yeah, when Requiem devs bother, they have really good art. Sadly, they fall into the trap of "photographic artwork" just the same.

LaCroix is best vampire.

awesome, thank you!

Rik Schaffer seems like a fucking awesome guy, what I wouldnt give for a bloodlines 2 composed by him and made by the exact same team.

Yeah, but like he says in the interview, he was a different person back then, more a character from the game, than someone real. And replicating that shit would impossible, not to mention potentially fucked up for the guy himself.

Anyone knows Dogma:Eternal Night?
im keeping an eye out for it but im not sure about it.

i´ve been eyeing it a little and seeing the words gothic punk pop up again makes me happy as hell, but the mmorgp aspect of it makes me doubt a little bit, especially for a smaller studio as mmos are one of the most intensive type of games you can make.

Isn't that just a group of Russians shamelessly ripping of VtM/WoD?

Top tier taste user. She's my favourite too.

Don't really mind the MMO aspect, and some Developers are doing pretty good maintaining their Game (Like Gloria Victis).
Just want to see some real Gameplay of Dogma, showing off the UI and how everything works.

im pretty sure they call their vampires kindred too so might be.

seems like even Mark Rein-Hagen backed the game^^

I have no idea who that is.

I want to marry Femgrel!

>Don't really mind the MMO aspect

>Hear through the grapevine that Paradox is interested in hiring a team who'd like to work on their IPs
>VtM comes up
>Sounds really tempting
>We're just a small indie crew however
>Realize we're way too small to ever do a proper Bloodlines 2
>Could maybe make it work as a top down fare but it would be a huge let down for every Bloodlines fan
>Could make it something else entirely but people would still bash it for not being Bloodlines
>Despair

isnt that one of the devs of the world of darkness mmo? if so that is fucking cool, gives me hope.

DAE not understand Sup Forums's fascination with this game? Seemed mediocre to me.

I personally prefer the Tremerfu.

how large was the original bloodlines team?

its an rpg masterpiece with fantastic atmosphere and music.

32-member team comprised of rpg dev veterans.

best girl

that big huh. Didnt white wolf say they were working on a game like werewolf the apocalypse, there might be a chance for bloodlines 2 but seeing that god-awful "we eat blood" game on steam they recently published then maybe not, that game was fucking garbage.

WHAT?

I CAN´T HEAR YOU!

best clan

>someone legitimately thinks the lower picture is an improvement

mmmmm blur and film grain

This is why I just want to play VtMB in VR. I think a sequel would end up as a disappointment.

What I really want to know is why there's so much glow from the fucking cement road.

i´ll never get people who download such disgusting mods.

...

>tfw no porn of this best girl

>Didnt white wolf say they were working on a game like werewolf the apocalypse
Yeah, no real information about it yet though. And there's that Vampyr game but no actual gameplay from that either, just some dialogue teasers but the dialogue system doesn't look as good. Instead of just showing you possible responses and letting you figure out how they'll come across it'll say [INTIMIDATE] or something, I don't really like that. Breaks immersion for me.

What was wrong with their text game? Is it just because of the image that gets posted here a lot about that liberal killing Trump supporters? I see a lot of people thinking that it's supposed to be supportive of that kind of thinking but they're misinterpreting it, it's criticizing the insane liberals and giving it their WoD twist.

>And there's that Vampyr game but no actual gameplay from that either
I was wrong, there's a bit of gameplay shown and it looks okay but it still doesn't feel right for some reason, like it's just going to feel like a VtMB ripoff set in the early 1900s. Don't want to judge it too much yet though, could still be good.

...

Vampyr looks like it's going to be utter shit. They just keep showing the same 'gameplay' over and over and over. Given that these are the devs behind Life is Strange and Remember Me, I have no hope for it.

huh what did I miss? how did that junky idiot play me?

I'm no lore wizard, but isn't Tzimisce the only antediluvian confirmed to still be alive?

He's a kick-ass fungal colony now, chilling underground or some shit.

i´ve played trhough both the game game and the vampire game and i can say that they are not good at all and the writers have completely misunderstood the WoD universe, they mix up too much of mundane human politics or small stuff, things vampire or mage society would not even care about and the games really do the original material no justice at all, a huge disappointment and travesty really.

Nope.

Lasombra, Haquim, Absimiliard, Arikel and Ennoia are alive. Albeit, Lasombra is not alive in the typical sense of the word, as he has become a creature of the Abyss.

Are the clan books any good to read? is it worth buying the pen&paper just to read story stuff?

this is l-lewd user

Is he immortal or is he going to die along with everyone else when gehenna decides to fuck everyone's shit?

You're now in charge of developing Bloodlines 2

Where does it take place? (Santa Monica gave Bloodlines 1 a really unique vibe. Do you stick with that or explore some other setting)

What's the time period? (Bloodlines 1 had that 90's angst going for, any other time period could just feel wrong)

What new clans are you including and what do you add or change about the old ones to make them interesting?

Are you a completely new vampire or a pre-existing one? (Thing about Bloodlines is that it introduces you to the world, do you want the second game to reintroduce you to all the same workings)

How do you balance all the different playstyles while having both ranged and melee not be complete shit?

Do you have talking and sneaking be viable throughout the whole game?

Do you have hub worlds or an open city?

Bloodlines 1 is such lightning in a bottle. I'm really not sure where they could take the series after it without feeling outdated or more of the same.

Not particularly. Especially since they're print on demand and would cost quite a penny. Maybe look that up on ebay? Depending on where you're from, you might be able to find some of the stuff for quite a low price and in good condition.

does anyone have any music that is similair to the music in bloodlines?
i am desperate for more of the stuff!

Massive Attack.

It's what Rik Schaffer was basically making, he even says it himself.

>october is over a month away
>gonna play vtmb, costume quests 1 and 2, and REmake

Gonna be the comfiest month of the year for me.

Oh hang on, were you talking about the soundtrack or the actual songs that they licensed from existing bands? If the latter, look up Music from the Succubus Club:

youtube.com/watch?v=vympzV240mM

There will never be a game were you purge Reality Deviants as a member of Technocratic Union.
why live

ah thanks dude! just what i was looking for, meant the soundtrack in general and not actual licensed songs. this is perfect!
Do you know of any similair stuff?

That's too bad. I think VtMB being set in modern times was something that made it good, because it was modern and familiar but still completely alien and uncomfortable at the same time. I'm not sure if putting it into an older setting will work as well, especially since the music is part of what made VtMB great. And it's not like VtMB had the best melee combat but it was still fun when combined with disciplines.

Almost reminds me of that "Dark" game, that was a stealth game with vampires. It was technically complex I guess but the abilities weren't very fun to use and it didn't do anything particularly well.

Might've been trying to pander to their audience if that's the case. I can see why it wouldn't be good, but seeing the drama over people misinterpreting the screenshots from it makes me kind of want to read it because it seems like it could still be rational with that dark twist. Maybe I'll pick it up if it ever goes on sale.

something that gives off the santa monica theme vibe or like the unused song open season

you´ll be dissapointed with it, but pick the game up on sale if you want, but i you loved bloodlines or any of the original source material you´re in for quite a different experiences, just saying.

I'd mainly want to see how vampires deal with technology if there's a Bloodlines 2. A movie called Daybreakers dealt with this a bit, it wasn't a fantastic movie but it was okay. With lab-grown meat becoming a thing I'd like to see how vampires would deal with lab-grown blood, or even the meat too for someone like Pisha.

There's a lot of cyberpunk stuff but not much cybergoth I think. A Vampire cybergoth game might be good.

>that face with no makeup or glasses
jesus

Wouldn't tattoos not work on vampires due to their healing factor?

I think this was something combined with a form of Vicissitude.

well you are putting ink into the skin so i guess it works fine for them despite the healing factor?
im trying to think of a vampire with tattoos

Several characters in Redemption have them.
