No, its pretty objectively trash compared to 3 and 5. 3 has a better endgame plot, but 5 is more balanced.

Not quite as dark but has "mature themes" like suicide and rape, gameplay is far more in-depth with things to do in each dungeon rather than just running around, though there is a Tartarus stand in as well. Social Links are much more in depth.
I liked it more than 3 but your mileage may vary.
