How did you come up with your video game handle/username/id?
How did you come up with your video game handle/username/id?
I always choose handles with two words that start with the same letter
I typed in some random shit while making my first WoW character, people called me by the first 4 letters of that name and I stuck with it.
I used my old gaia name and tweak it if it's taken
The one I use outside this trip? I was doing the stupid "name"_(age) crap for a few years (from 13 til 16) before I finally decided on a definitive one that I've used since then. The earliest case of me using said name was back on the MSN Gaming Zone, when you could find/host servers for games like JK:DF2, Quake 1 and Quake 2, among others, but that no longer exist and finding my old account page is only possible through the Internet Time Machine.
Raichu's a cool mon
Pinkcat cus my cat had a pink collar
I really like sasuke and my parents don't understand me.
>MSN groups
>just wanted to see some dark magician girl
>you had to be a part of the group to see the images
>tfw you've been stuck with your awful PSN name for 10 years already.
At this point I would pay Sony $20 to let me change it
from this guy in SMRPG
unfortunately these days everyone associates the name with that cunt from LoL
Stole it from a video game.
Then someone referred to me with a shortened version of the name, which I liked better, so I changed it to that.
We wish we could change ours too.
I kinda miss the old IM style method of hosting/finding games for some reason. It seemed simple. Now in most cases you have to load a game to see a server list.
"Uh, what's a character from a game I really like? Ooh, that works."
What are games with this type of aesthetic called?
I was an edgy teenager so I picked the two edgiest words that I found and combined them to create my username, the end result isn't even that edgy and actually sounds like a harry potter ripoff.
My name is Anthony and I have another friend with the same name. One day he challenged me to a duel in Quake Live (which I barely play) and kicked my ass. Him and my other friends started joking about how badly I was beaten, came up with the nickname "Phony Tony" and it caught on.
One I got from a Das Racist song, another I took from DX:HR.
From some lyrics I heard from a song in Tony Hawk's Underground, only intentionally misspelled to look cooler.
Low poly?
90s 3D
A combo, of a few letters from first name mixed with my last name.
I picked an edgy french word with no significance to put right next to my Eevee OC.
I just use Pixel-P cus name reasons and cus I'm a fgt who rly enjoys retro games (new games can obv. be great. I'm not that retarded)
I was hungry and had a sudden craving for cheese. So my user name is a mock up of Gouda Cheddar and Brie
snanta
it's an abbreviation of a shitty username that i made up in 5th grade
my friends online just started calling me that and it stuck
My pa used it for his saves on the PlayStation and I stole it.
Brie cheese is the fucking tits
Pretty much just a variant of a Cave Story character's name.
It was the name of a D&D character I was playing at the time I started Runescape
Which was just four random words slurred together
I picked my favorite piece of clothing found in fantasy.
I'm never happy with my online handles or usernames, so I have a different ID for every service I use. I wish I could settle for one.
It started by combining the name of the mc of a game I liked and the name of a band I liked. After that, I learned that there was a real word that started with the name of said character and I switched to it because it was simpler and easier to say/type
I named myself after Revolver Ocelot but I sometimes get faggotards asking if I'm a furry.
By reading a Jhonen Vasquez comic
I have you added on Steam and I don't remember when or why.
I used to use one that's just some dumb shit I made up as a kid, but now I use one that's the first letter of my first name and then two letters from my last name because that's how I've signed my art for years. I was also inspired to use it as a handle because of Umaru and Sylphyn's UMR and TSF handles.
I like history and I found my username through random Arabic and Roman words put together.
Ambiguous word that could draw from either a video game series or a religion, with my favourite number at the end. August 31st will be the tenth anniversary of me adopting it.
It's from a PC adventure game based on a shit TV series. I was playing it for some reason and liked one of the character names because it sounded like a cheesy action hero name, so I started using it.
I picked a nonsense word said by a character in one of the very first full-fledged fantasy books I ever read.
When I used to play fluff back in 2005 I wanted to name my character volke from fire emblem but couldn't so I name it volkyer, everyone called me volk so from that game I have always been volk for everything
Random name generator from those old Cartoon Network build your own level games.
>all these people using the names of characters
What's it like to have zero creativity?
I don't even have an e-mail because I can't come up with anything.
>I like color x and color y
>ColorXandColorY
>What's it like to have zero creativity?
Sometimes I feel a little inadequate but otherwise I don't really feel anything.
Bunch of friends joked about going "Dude, man" before saying anything. "DudeMan" became "DudeBro" after coming here.
I'm a little pissed that "dudebro" became a popular derogatory term for the fratboy audience.
Shut up ya green slut
A joke i made to the second squad's light machinegunner who was my friend in the year 2000 while he was talking about comic artists.
When I got my Xbox 360 it assigned me a username and game me one free chance to change it. I decided to save it until I one day came up with something better. That day never came and I've been using it with all my systems since.
based off a like 20 second gag from a MST3K episode
Last name of a video game character who is always referred to by his nickname.
It's the nickname I got in middle school. People just started calling me that, and I went "eh, whatever, I don't have a good handle" and started using it.
It's just the punchline of some shitty sketch me and my friends made in highschool for physics class
I change the name and avatar pretty much daily along with the profile theme. If the profile doesn't combine with the name and avatar I make it private.
I didn't get one until I was like 21 or 22, its just a dumb nickname my brother gave me. Prior to that I would just use a variant of zachattack, real un-creative and lame I know.
I like penguins, the animal/hockey team/youtuber.
I translated part of the name of a manga I liked with google translate
What the Fuck is with this sudden ride of tripfags?
I've got Jozef who's just a translation of my name and Yagi which is Goat in Japanese.
I like Goats.
I use yagi in jrpgs, jozef a bit everywhere
summer
first letter of first name + last name master race
besides that it's my very favorite vidya character KING RAGNAR
I took my 2 favorite Pokemon and mashed their names together.
A horrible mishmash of my old nickname, my favorite ship from starwars and some random ranking from an old game.
Gets the job done.
when I was like 13 I just took the name leon and put an S instead of an L, come to find out that its some gook name later down the line, oh well too late now, its the only handle i can look at and not think it looks stupid
I liked a robot from a SRPG and decided to use the name for my online handle.
Also before that I used the first three letters of my name, but that username is taken everywhere. I still use it as a name for characters though.
Took it from vivec's 36 lessons
Baron of move like this
My gaming username that trailed into my general online handle for the past 13 or so years was "Birdofterror". One word.
It originated from Diablo 2 where I was, as a preteen, a summon specced druid. I found it hilarious that I killed Diablo, lord of terror, with a bunch of ravens. Figuring that birds destroying him was humorous, the name stuck. "Birdofterror." Nowadays that name is so prevalent to me that I even have some contracts written out to the psuedonym.
I got a concussion and had a really bad fever dream. When I woke up, I had written something strange on a piece of paper and it just really stuck with me.
I was playing territory war online and selected some random word that 13 year old me thought was funny. Ever since then I've been adding different prefixes or suffixes to this word for other user names ever since.
At first, it was my [first name]+[middle and last initials].
Then it was [first half of first name]+[second half of middle name]
Then I stole the name from a defunct game studio. Turns out no one else thought to do it, because I was able to register on every site with that name for years. But eventually, other people started taking the name.
Then I just gave the studio's name a new spin, that I know no one would think of. As it's just a random word that doesn't mean anything. But it's also my best name to date, as everyone seems to really like saying it. So now I have a super likable name that no one else uses. Feels good.
