Blame Nintendo for forcing them to put in a silent custom character and chop up the story to get it to release. We could have had a true successor to XC

I think the silent custom character worked to a certain extent. We didn't have Shulk making bullshit decisions because of 'muh Fiora'. Having said that, it's a shame our avatar couldn't influence or shape the game based on our decisions.

XCX was a story about Mira and the people making a life on it. You being just another refugee instead of THE CHOSEN ONE fits within that story.

I don't think so, mira's implied to have some purpose or goal related to saving and protecting people and getting them to get along (personal note here: celica's theme, which is thematically associated with her desire for everybody to get along and survive comfortably in peace, plays when it is uncovered that something is auto-translating). concept art for mira also happens to show two towers on or near mira's north pole that are suspiciously sloped quite like the lifehold, and most likely are lifeholds themselves fromt he lifehold technology's original creator givent hat mira's purpose is to shelter and that everybody's still alive somehow; I theorize that there are therefore other lifeholds on mira built by whoever designed the tech that downloaded copies of NLA's people and is sustaining them in the lifehold core's abscence. More interestingly, this would imply that whoever originated the lifehold technology are also the ones who made mira.

You want more of my theories? Takahashi loves to do end and rebirth of world cycles in his shit, and the Samaar were said to arrive "from another plane" "at the dawn of the cosmos" by Luxaar, so I think mira is some kind of shelter intended to survive the death and rebirth of the universe intact.

Apparently it sold about 1.5 million copies. Does this justify a sequel? It wasn't as well received as XC, even though it was a brilliant game in its own right. I hope for a sequel, but I can't imagine we'll ever see one.

It's not meant to be entirely conclusive, you fag. It's meant to have the player question what the fuck is going on and come up with their own ideas, like this guy did: It's not "a cliffhanger", it's not "sequel bait", it's just open-ended. It's also made in a way that you can still play the game after beating the main story line.

But the ending pre-credits roll was already set up to do that. Finding the lifehold was a primary mission, but not the only mission. The day-to-day running of NLA and infrastructure building were still ongoing before finding the lifehold.

But you do play as the chosen one. The MC is inexplicably more powerful than everyone else in BLADE even in the beginning

Trying to get into this game after playing endgame of FFXIV feels really boring. The characters are so damn bad, along with the quests and whatever it tries to make you feel for the people. Recently did a side mission where you get some guy for a boss fight added into the party, and he instantly got clobbered

The only fun in the game if you're trying to challenge yourself is making an infinite maximum overdrive character before level thirty then smashing your way through things thirty levels and several stories higher than you as hard as you can. It's a fucking thrill.
