Are you playing it? What's your experience so far? I finished World 1 and right now I'm going back through it to sweep hopefully every unopened treasure chest with the push ability and to complete all optional challenges. I just found the secret chapter.

How many worlds are there? How long did it take you to complete world 1?
The game looks fun and people are saying good things about it but I don't want to buy it unless there's a lot of content.
Dont get paid till midnight gonna kms
Dumb frogposter.
Haven't purchased it yet, but I'll get it soon
Most reviews say that you take like 20h-25h to beat it but then there are the extra challenges which will take a long time, specially if you want to perfect them all.
...
each world takes 2-4 hours
there are only four worlds
there are some extra challenges
>controls great
>has great artstyle
>looks fun
rabbids are shit for cocksuckers though and put me off day one until the end of time
It's okay user. I have to wait until thursday to play.
I think World 1 took me about 4 hours or so, but these challenges are adding at least another 2. There are four worlds in total, each divided into chapters (W1-1, W1-2 and so on), in World 1 each chapter had either 2 or 3 separate battles. There are a midboss and a final boss in each world.
I just came home with the game. Going to pop it in right now. I actually unironically bought a switch for this alone despite disliking both Mario and Rabbids. Really makes me think
I died to the first miniboss and now I want to kill myself when do I unlock the skill tree?
I think I'm going to get it for my sister and we will play and have fun and giggle and shit
Right afterwards, keep pushing on, you can do it. A good strategy is baiting the Rabbid Piranha with tankier units like Rabbid Peach on ground level while shooting at him from above for extra damage from one of the raised corners. Luigi is pretty good for it since he has really high range.
is this the current state of nintendo?
ever since it's announcement i've thought this would be good enough to stand on it's own without mario and especially without the rabbids
the game looks nice and everything, just why did they have to make it mario, why couldn't it have been a new bunch of cartoon characters
maybe it's JUST the rabbids that make me hate it. i can stand mario sports games. maybe it should have been mario VS sonic or just mario VS goombas and koopas.
It was just made for the "MONEY MONEY, WHERE ARE YOU ?" more than anything else.
That doesn't mean it's bad.
How obnoxious are the Rabbids in this? Give it to me straight, lads. The Rabbids are shit but if they toned them down for this I might consider buying it.
I thought it was fine desu, I mean its mostly a mario game with these guys tagging along. Something I thought was actually pretty funny was you did this mission for a sunflower, and he gives you a single coin as a reward and Rabbid Peach throws the coin back at his face and then starts throwing rocks at him. You'll be fighting a lot of Rabbid enemies though, so your mileage may vary on that
Honestly I feel this is how the Rabbids should have always been. There are multiple individual ones with their own personality (the playable party and the bosses) and many enemy types who act whimsical and manage not to feel out of place as Mario enemies, like something you'd see in Mario & Luigi. The generic white Rabbids are either helpful and build facilities for you around Peach's Castle grounds, or just chill and engage in silly antics around the Mushroom Kingdom, without ever directly getting in your way (you generally see them in the background and can examine what they're doing by pressing A).
Switch emulator when?
Maybe in 10 years with luck
But Sup Forums convince me to buy a switch
Some of this post-world challenges are straight-up puzzle-based rather than strategy-based. There's one early on where you have to reach a spot across a chasm in only one turn and you need to bait a couple enemies with a party member so that they'll place themselves in a way that will let Mario get flung across the chasm after being hit by them on the enemy turn. Very neat.
Does this game have a system update on the cart? This is my main decision on whether to buy this or not. I don't want to update above 3.0
I'm at 3.0.1 and the game didn't launch a system update, it just comes with a day-one patch for itself.
It's a fun console. I have ARMS, Sonic Mania, and M+R on it so far, and I've got my eyes out for indies coming out. By the end of the year and especially going into next there will be enough exclusives to justify the purchase. I like being able to stuff it in my pocket for when I'm out during the day and then dock it when I get home.
Get a screen protector for it (it's like twenty bucks for a really good one) and you'll never have to worry about the dock scratching it.
Maybe to you it's a fun console, but I can't find a single worthwhile game on it. I just hate esports, casual games, and overbloated AAA titles. And I refuse to touch an indie game unless it's on the PC, since that's where they all belong. Also, I can't justify the console DRM. It's the equivalent of steam on a bad day, mixed in with some Denuvo and Origin.
Seems like you're just a negative nancy to me. Not saying that you should get a switch, but you do come off as whiny hardcore epic gamur (:
Okay, then, don't buy it. If it's not for you, then it's not for you. I didn't pick a WiiU until very late into its life cycle and ended up having a blast with it after not buying a Nintendo console since the SNES.
It's a good console, but if you want it straight, get it next year. It'll be 100% worth it then, but as it is, all you've really got to play is BoTW and multiplayer shit. I honestly wish I would've picked it up later, but it's been good so far. Good thing Mario and Xenoblade are on the horizon and there's much more singleplayer games next year.
>and I refuse to touch an indie game unless it's on PC, since that's where they belong
Why's that? Also it really doesn't seem like you want a Switch at all.
The Rabbids don't really bother me because I play games for their gameplay.
Also the DK rabbid is for some reason is animated in a way that just makes it funny.
I'm returning it tomorrow. I'm pretty pissed.
The back of the box says it's multi-player. The back of the box says it has single joy con play. But you can't even start the game without both joycons set up as one controller. And even if I turn on my pro controller, there isn't any multi-player option from the main menu.
I bought the game to basically trick my wife into playing xcom. Instead she just got to watch me try and figure out how to turn on multi-player for half an hour. I even downloaded the patch. Pretty pissed.
There's multiplayer stages you unlock later on. Do your research next time.
Why didn't you just let her play then, you fucking moron? You don't get someone into turn based strategy games by making them play a shitty multiplayer mode.
Skeptic as fuck. But I like it. It's a great handheld game to play on the go (I assume). Took me about 3 hours to beat world 1.
The game isn't hard. The real difficulty is accidentally moving your characters or attack the wrong enemy without a confirmation box.
Luigi is pretty good.
It was literally advertised as Co op at gamestop
holy shit aren't you fucking retarded
>Nintenyear olds complaining that this game has a season pass
>BOTW had one
>Hyrule Warriors had two
>Smash 4 Wii U/3DS had fucking microtransaction
Yeah, but Ubisoft is the bad one that's FORCING Nintendo to allow them to do this, amirite?
>hyrule warriors had two
It has co-op but you unlock the co-op stages as you complete the worlds in single player. It doesn't use the same stages as the single player campaign, it has its own stages and mechanics, you even use four characters instead of three.
It did.
One for Wii U DLC and the other when the 3DS version came out for 3DS DLC.
Console and Legends had separate Season Passes user.
I don't think that's true. I never paid for the 3ds dlc separately
There was even a second, gimped season pass for the Wii U version itself with just the 3DS characters without the Adventure Mode maps.
Much less toned down than their original incarnations. In a good way.
Less endless screaming, more slapstick comedy. The fact you have your main Rabbids with more defined "personalities" also helps making them more endearing.
Another thin I like personally is that enemy Rabbids aren't just 1 body shape with different costumes, but at least have variations with fat and bulky Rabbids.
ah. I forgot the 3ds version existed
sorry anons
Did you literally just say the 3DS didn't have a season pass by...saying you bought a season pass???
I'll take slapstick over youtuber humor any day.
I expected to hate the rabbids. I sat down on my bed with my gf to play and we ended up actually enjoying them. They feel more like cute slapstick individuals than before, before this game rabbids were "le yelling troublemaker man". These guys are more like minions.
The actual gameplay is amazing, just finished world 1. Im only scared ill beat this game too soon.
Even if the game has a Season pass, gotta admit it seems surprisingly tame for Ubisoft. Levels, weapons and story content it seems and no over mcirotransactioning.
So I'll tolerate it. Hopefully the story and level content won't be just reused assets and they try to bring something new.
Personally would like a new world with new enemy units based on other Nintendo characters (Like Rabbid Links or Samus Bwaaran)
The game really ramps up in difficulty halways through World 2 and a lot in World 3 so don't worry user.
Also once you clear a world you open a share of challenge maps that ranger from tough to super elaborate, pushing you to really plan your shit.
It's not the longest game, but at least there's enough to have a good time.
Great to hear, thanks user!
Then you may have no trouble with them here. They mostly engage in decent slaptick so they are barely annoying.
Also that Luigi dabbing shit that is being spread across seems to be just a random animation that can happen since I unlocked Luigi and so far he hasn't done it once.
It made me laugh the first time, it's just so fucking stupid. I'm mad at myself for laughing at all.
>tfw negative reviews because the game is too difficult
does that really count though
if you liked splatoon 1 then get the switch
if you didn't wait till next year when it has a bigger nicer library
right now the reliable good games are botw, mario +rabbids, mario oddyssey (they can't fuck this up right?) and mario kart if you have friends. you may like splatoon, it isn't for everyone. ARMS isn't remotely worth 60 dollars imo. more like 30-40, it has nothing but the online and story (which isn't really a story)
Those are the worst. I'm surprised the game is actually challenging and that it doesn't go for instant gratification. If I was still a kid, I'd feel amazing after besting some of the stages.
Yes
Very good
Doing the same thing pretty much, haven't found the secret chapter yet
>tfw you've already died twice just getting through the first world
I had to restart that one where you have to kill 4 smashers so many times and in the end I got though with only Rabbid Luigi alive.
After beating the world 1 boss I went back and got a perfect on it but at the time I actually thought it was pretty tough. I might just be a shitter tho.
BWAAAAAAAAAAAH
the first boss annihilated me because I was being lazy and just rushing through the levels, it was nice being punished for it
Also I fucking love Rabbi Luigi, his life steal is so danke
nintendo think they slick
luigi has always been the memer of mario
Well, in their original appearance (the actual Rayman games they were in), they were actually intimidating and vaguely creepy, it was only once they made that party game that Rabbids became Minions 2.0.
Part of me is disappointed that Serguei or any of the other OG Rabbids showed up, but it's not like anyone would've known who they were.
Forgot pic.
I've heard it's pretty buggy even post patch so I'm waiting for all known issues to be sorted
>minions 2.0
rabbids came out long before minions
Are we looking at a GOTY contender here?
I don't see it getting GOTY anywhere, also it'll probably looked over in most genre categories as well. It's not quite an action game. It's kinda RPG-ish but Persona 5 or even BoTW will snag up those awards. I think at best you'll (hopefully) see some recognition of the OST.
I have a few doubts before I buy it.
How hard the game is?
How replayable the levels are?
Is co-op any good?
NOOO, IT WAS SUPPOSED TO FAIL
I doubt it. Maybe it will get some awards for "unique new game" or some shit like that.
>Rabbi Luigi
Luigi is a jew?
REMINDER: If this game sells well, a Rabbid will be in the next Smash Brothers...and judging by this game, that might not be a bad thing.
>rabbid peach has more chances at smash than daisy
feels good
>a Rabbid gets in before Rayman
I could see it nabbing best strategy from some places.
They weren't intimidating in Raving Rabbids. Even though they were the villains, they behaved in pretty much the same way as they do now. Were you like 6 years old at the time?
At least put them with rayman goddammet
Not bad at all. There's a dumb poop joke but that's about it for obnoxious things.
Plus DK Rabbid is best Rabbid.
This is the best Mario RPG since 2004.
>And I refuse to touch an indie game unless it's on the PC, since that's where they all belong.
...what
Not really fair to compare an SRPG with regular RPGs. Or the thing that Paper Mario has become either.
When they're in the same series you can. It's not like we're comparing XCOM to mainseries Final Fantasy, we're comparing Mario to Mario.
> I like being able to stuff it in my pocket for when I'm out during the day
You have some big pockets, user.
Why am I so shite at this? I literally can not beat the first challenge. Need at least 4 rounds to handle those fuckers.
Why do people ask for this fuck? In the last few games he was just as wacky at the rabbids anyway.
>challenges
yuck, literally the worst thing in a game
>tfw Paper Jam did better with Sticker Star's limitations than Sticker Star itself did (and self-imposed at that)
>tfw this game handled the not sure if I can say it, but those who've seen the final boss of the game will know what I mean better than Color Splash
The absolute state of Intelligent Systems.
Took me 4-5 hours to beat world 1. Doing challenges is probably going to be another 2.
Fun game, but why is everything so fucking blurry? My eyes hurt playing this for any length of time.
I'd recommend glasses
Hopefully the PC version will let us get rid of DoF. It's so obnoxious.
Because when I was younger i played Rayman 2 the big escape and loving it
But the serie get reboot,
Soo no more 3d Rayman
I just want another 3d Rayman user
Full ost uploaded fucking when?
youtube.com
So who's doing the soundtrack for this? It's so fucking good!!
underage pls go
