Smogon loves keeping its meta the most boring thing possible, they will rarely ban walls unless if they are actually fun despite being easy to counter (see Funbro)

In PUBG just wait for the map play area to shrink and instead of heading to the designated area just kill everyone else who is trying to get there. Make sure game voice chat is enabled.

There's a ton of Pokemon who can break through all those defensive things on that team, the problem is Dugtrio has the ability to trap and kill most of those Pokemon, leaving you to die a slow, painful death at the hands of a bunch of unbreakable defensive walls.

I actually kinda like playing against stall, it feels really rewarding when you actually do manage to beat it.

I wish Pokemon didn't have team preview, once you play for a little bit you can tell what their move sets are going to be just from looking at the team. Gen 4 lead meta and having wild cards on your team was more fun

People don't use stall to fuck with you, people use stall on ladder because it's an autopilot playstyle that's very effective

eh I think team preview is better for a competitive stand point. I mean in chess both teams start with the same exact team.

I haven't played Showdown since S/M came out, anyone want to give me a fun team to play around with? Also is Ubers meta still the same Xerneas, Pdon, and Mega Mence meme fest or is there anything strong enough to make a real case for a slot on a team.

It doesn't necessarily do either, and I think gamefreak actually chose the perfect time to add it in.
In a metagame like in generation 3 or 4 with not many obscenely strong threats with 2-3 counters, no team preview makes for a more strategic, slow paced game that revolves around hedging risk and controlling how much information you give/take.
The problem is that in newer gens, ESPECIALLY gen 6-7, there are always going to be at least 1-2 pokemon on the other team that are very close to an autowin against you. You absolutely need to be aware of needing to handle something like a charizard x or a volcarona or whatever, or else the game just becomes "lol u didn't guess my sweeper correctly gg" which is shit.

That's fair, I haven't really considered the sheer number of Pokémon that could be considered relevant now.

It's a shame a lot of competitive Pokémon features a lot of the same mons at the top. Especially in non-Smogon.

I had kinda given up on Smogon though since I didn't agree with a lot of their metagame choices.

Competitive games are all fairly homogeneous. Fighting games, LoL, RTS, people will use the same handful of things that work the best because they want to win.
Maybe it's just more noticeable in Pokemon because there are like 500 choices instead of 40

I'm a Mii Gunner main and I once had to fight a Pac-Man at my skill level (rock bottom). It was just as painful as you'd expect for everyone involved.

When will the wall menace be over? It's not even an impossible team to beat, it's just every time you fight this team, expect to be there for awhile.

The fact that Stealth Rock was never banned in any of their metas really shows how full of shit they are when they claim to ban for balance.

Didn't they outright ban Baton Pass entirely because there were a couple Gen 7 Legendaries that were too good with it, instead of just banning those Legendaries?

The meta is more anti-fun than ever, mostly thanks to the Tapus and Toxapex. Electric terrain prevents Rest, Toxapex has Haze, and generally they're so braindead easy to use even ELO hell can steamroll a Showderp team with their Tapu.
Baton Pass was also entirely banned from OU now, so no more balk fetus/boostan roostan/boosting Smeargle sets that enable shitmons to sweep.
It's miserable sometimes but I can still find fun there.

I once managed to win a match between a friend an I with this combo. I had a Platinum Angel out, and had to stall like fuck to the point where he had four or five rows of creature cards out, and I was below -1,000 life.

I don't even hate stall as much as I hate Hyper Offense. Easily the most brainless, button-mashing playstyle in existence and it makes up like 75% of high ladder matches. Nobody even bothers with balance anymore.

Hyper Offense actually takes some degree of skill instead of mindlessly clicking on Chansey or Toxapex whenever anything dangerous shows up

If you couldn't tell by the name or the initial screencap, it's intentionally shitty and stupid for the sake of being silly.

Gets rid of fat mons like Chansey who can be annoying to stall, kills Kyurem and CB Tyranitar or any other wallbreaker who could fuck stall up.

The SM meta isn't too bad in that way despite all the complaints of Beasts and Tapus. That's more because they banned anything not in the Alola dex though, which lets otherwise mediocre Pokemon like Araquanid shine. Lots of Arcanine though.

Dark Void was an 80% accurate move that put both opposing pokemon to sleep at the same time
It got nerfed but it used to be gay as fuck

He can learn pretty much anything that can hit him which means instead of having to restrict yourself to what your mons can learn and how to play around that, you can build up your Smeargal and just have him learn the moves you want him to have. Generally this means lickety split, quick as shit smeargals with lock on, Sheer Cold, Dark Void and something else.
