I was interested in it because of the premis, but the whole bad guy vs bad guy was a bit of a turn off and apparantly the second half of the game isn't really complete.

This is a Kickstarter game everyone who wanted a copy already got one. Who actually expects these kinds of games to sell well? The whole point of Kickstarter is the game gets funded by fans so a game is actually made. Any additional sales from that point on are a bonus.

Never heard anything about this game. Also Wasteland 2 was kinda shit so it's only natural the "CRPG revival" hype lasted only a short time.

I had fun with the game and I'm glad I played it, but I legitimately had no idea what it was about or when it even released, there was just no fucking marketing.

That horrible banner didn't do the game any favors, who the fuck would think that the DA2 tier art would in any way tell people what the game's about.

Pillars of Eternity and Tyranny have the same issue that LawBreakers has. They lack character.

You can't expect people to be interested in your game if it looks so derivative and bland that it could be mistaken for one of those mock-up games you see actors 'playing' on TV shows.

WL2's combat is deeper than new xcom, unless suddenly new xcom has time units, finite ammo pools and free aim.

The combat in the director's cut felt punchy and nice - the problem, again, is forcing you into combat. Unlike Fallout 1 and 2, which you could run away from.

So many modern shitty WRPGs forget what made that game great.

In what way? Pillars system plays nothing like DnD and they definitely have more RPG elements.

Like dunno how every stat was made to be somewhat useful regardless of class like Might being both strength and magic strength or intelligence boosting effects of any ability even non magical.

I thought PoE was well above average. 7 out of 10 game easy. My biggest gripe with it were the stupid fucking backer stories or whatever, but I learned pretty fast to just ignore them altogether.

I think the main problem is their artists. All their games look like fucking abominations and horse shit. Every one of their characters look like they just walked out of a tumblr blog and that is a big red flag on potential purchases. I wanted to get all these new WRPG's, I was hyped during the initial wave. Guess how many I bought? Zero. Fucking zero. Because I saw shitty art and tumblr characters. I do not want to be assaulted by fucking identity politics of any kind, and modern writers and journalists are fucking obsessed with the cancer of identity poltiics and these games stories and infused with that cancer.

Find writers who aren't obsessed with identity poltics, and find artists who aren't from fucking tumblr, and you will get more sales. Those two things put all the Obsidian and inExile new WRPG's from must by to steam wishlist get it on sale if it's 80% off tier.

Gotta get those nostalgia bucks from people who hate modern RPGs like Mass Effect and The Witcher.

When they moved to a more story driven and character focused approach in Tyranny, instead of the usual party of murder hobos roaming the world collecting loot and treasures so prevalent in CRPGs, paired with the premise that evil had won, which instantly put off the moralfags that really make up the bulk of the RPG audience, they signaled about 80% of the usual CRPG fanbase that this game is not for them.

Considering that this game is much more linear and heavy on the branching story it should have been a AAA product and it would have been much more successful. At least i would have bought it since i'm really starved for a story driven AAA RPG that doesn't force me down the good guy route.

I didn't get the game because I heard the ending was unfinished.

She's a beast creature that respects strength and tells you her hunting tales of raping your enemies. What more do you fucking want? In Dragon Age she would have been Sten AKA : "I dropped my sword on the ground and got mad and killed 3 ppl so now I'm sad even though there's nothing at all stopping me from getting my shitty sword back".

The writing is what made Fallout great, and that's not something you can easily replicate. Being able to run from combat in Fallout was more a function of combat being a bungle of shit most of the time rather than roleplay.

No, what made Fallout 1 and 2 great were the multiple solutions, being able to run away from fights or avoiding them entirely by abusing the games engine. It's very Deus Ex like for a 2D engine game.

As someone who loves the rare games where you play a game bad, there is nothing I hate more than this. I already hated how Star Wars Force Unleashed advertised how you got to be a Sith Warrior, yet like 2-3 missions into the game you joint he faggy rebels and become a good guy. But honestly I expected it with Tyranny. Modern RPG devs are so cucked they could never let anything morally bad get into their games. The most evil thing you could do is probably misgender someone or leave the toilet seat up after taking a piss.

There's nothing really notably awful about her character. She's a bit bland because "hurr muh wild hunts" etc, but other than that it's a fairly straightforward character and I don't understand why shitpost about her of all characters when the game does have a lot of other glaring flaws.
