People really need to stop buying these new games so they can learn how to make a good one again.

It's pretty clear 2K really wants to make a good wrestling game and has some passionate people on the project, but the fact that they have to shit out a game every year as per contract is holding them back. If they got a couple of years off they could make 2K21 the GOAT wrestling game.

As far as the games now, they've definitely been improving on a yearly basis since 2K15, although the visuals for 2K18 are a little fucked. I don't actually care how the real wrestlers look, I just want the CAW creator to be better

dunno bout you guys but i think ps2 models (especially the female wrestlers) are superior than this.

The last one I played was 2k15 or 16 I think but the engine 2K was using was the most anti-fun bullshit that made the THQ games all look 10/10. It's like they removed everything great that made the WWE series arcadey and fun and tried for their "muh basketball sim" direction

By improved I mean the games are getting better but none of them are as fun as 2K14 was. 2K15 was a slow mess, and basically the gameplay's been getting slightly faster with each installment. 2K17 is faster but has so many stupid mechanics like reversal stocks (can only reverse so many moves and then you have to "recharge" before you can do more reversals) and orange reversals (reversals that if used prevent your opponent from reversing anything for a period of time). 2K18 at least has some more match types so if nothing else that'll make it more fun than 2K17 by the merit of variety.

2K14 was the last THQ engine release, right? Fuck, I wish it was on PC, I haven't played any others since like 2010

THQ was in the middle of developing 2K14 when they went under. 2K basically took what they had and finished it since time was running low which is why 2K15 onwards is so different. The last non 2K WWE game was WWE '13.
