What makes the Gothic series so great?
What makes the Gothic series so great?
fun to play while eating pizza rolls and drinking whiskey
>1 great game, 1 okay game and 2 shit games
It's not.
Contrarianism.
because it's not famous, so Sup Forums's hive mind likes it
Greatest RPG ever made
I guess it beats elder scrolls then :/
Why is it always this same image of a guy on a bridge? I'm starting to think no one who makes these threads actually plays Gothic, because you would think they would get another screenshot.
amazing sense of character progression, living worlds that are coherent and make sense (there are economies, you know where people get their food). one of the first action RPGs, great world building, great characters, detailed corners of the world.
>when the drones are not sure which way to proceed
maybe not in burgerland
Its amazing how perfect its open world is, and how far open world design has fallen. Its also proof that UI is next to worthless when you are going for immersion. All it needs is that tiny health bar in the corner and that's it.
But so great was the wrath of Beliar that he came across the land and chose the beast. And Beliar spoke to it. And the beast became his subject
been wanting to play this but these grapix look so shite
But Innos beheld what Beliar had done. And he also bestrode the land, and chose the human. And Innos spoke to him. And the human became his subject.

But the human and the beast waged war upon the land of Adanos. And the wrath of the gods was with them.

And the human slew the beast and it entered in to Beliar's realm.
But Adanos saw that Order and Chaos were now unequal and he bade Innos to take his divine power from the human.
And Innos, in his wisdom, did so.
i find the art just fugly there are a whole lot of other old games that look better than this shit
But Adanos feared for the day in which the beast would return to the land.
And so he bade Innos to leave a part of his power in his realm, so that he might restore it to the human if the beast should return.
And Innos, in his wisdom, did so.
1 and 2 are nice, but the second half in both games is rushed and unfinished. The map of the mine colony in 2 shows a lot of places, but half of them haven't been designed to completion and are either low on details or completely empty.
Are you all from another dimension where pic related doesn't exist?
I like both games honestly
Sup Forums has this tendency to make up rivalries where there aren't any
Your pic related is good, but its open world still isn't on par with gothic 2's. Its also full of worthless trash items, an ugly UI, worse fast travel, and tons of pointless notice board quests and quest markers.
