Just started watching the Sonic Boom series. Its pretty good.

I can't imagine that she'd stop being overbearing, it'd just manifest differently, such as getting jealous of Sonic's female friends that spend time with him. She'd probably also start guilt-tripping him to keep him on a leash (e.g. "Oh you can go on holiday with Tails... But I thought you loved me.") and be manipulative in other ways. She's also pretty violent under a veneer of ladylikeness - I could see domestic abuse on the cards.
