What's your favorite indie game?
Mine's a tie between Axiom Verge and Shovel Knight.
What's your favorite indie game?
Undertale
>Guacamelee
>spectre of torment
>beseige
...
DustForce
Overload
Underrail
...
Is Mount and Blade indie?
Is Arma indie?
Spelunky.
MY NIGGA
this game needs some more attention
Tough choice.
flappy bird
Cave Story.
Current favorite is Salt and Sanctuary, but Axiom Verge is great too.
Probably Darkest Dungeon. After that games like TxK, Guacamelee, and Binding of Issac hook me as well.
I just can't get into it's art style. Human character design reminds me of early 2000's animation.
My brother
Did you also not like rebirth?
Hollow Knight or Terraria probably.
>terraria
>indie
Fuck. Half the time I forget about that.
Terraria on Switch when?
Get out MatthewMatosis
Hard between Super Meat Boy and VVVVVV
Cave Story then Axiom Verge
This probably.
This game has such an ugly art style. What type of game is it?
The legend of Zelda
It's a dungeon crawler with top down shooter gameplay.
...
a fourway tie between these and braid
i dont play much indie stuff
he gets it
...
This game looks cool. Is it good?
It's outdated shit don't bother
>the ost to VVVVVV
Thanks. Back to M.U.L.E. then.
The best indie Real Time Strategy game.
Hotline Miami 1 and 2, possibly Minecraft if I'm being honest.
hell yeah
Fuck that I'm going back to Maze War.
>casual fps garbage
Depends on what counts as "indie"
forgot pic
>using a PDP terminal
>not playing via punch-card through the mail
You scrub.
Does Ori count?
Hollow Knight every day of the week. Spectre of torment very close second.
FTL: Faster Than Light is a perfect game
>that much RNG
>perfect
>pick one
This game is so good. Music, gameplay, and presentation are all top notch.
How is Moon Hunters if I'm looking for a chill co-op game?
I'm actually pretty psyched to play Axiom Verge when it comes out on the Switch this October. Getting myself the physical copy for $10. I always put off buying the PS4/vita version when it went on sale because I knew I'd never play it while having a backlog, but I think I should be done with Zelda by the time it comes out.
Guess I'll be the first to say La-Mulana; original or the remake. Pls go buy it so we can have La-Mulana 2 ;_;
>How is Moon Hunters if I'm looking for a chill co-op game?
Right up your alley
Right now it's either Nuclear Throne or that DOOM roguelike.
Iji and La Mulana are pretty fucking good too.
Yume Nikki is probably my favorite
Speaking of indie stuff, has anyone played DUSK yet?
Dankest Memegeon probably, but there are a bunch I've been meaning to play and haven't gotten around to yet.
Terraria or Risk of Rain.
MUTHA FUGGIN TRANSISTOR
>soundtrack is 12/10
>art is some of the best I've ever seen
>story made me bawl like a baby
probably isaac
tho I played a lot of obscure ones back in the days of indiegames.com
That's some good taste user, did you remember to pre-order odyssey too?
Killing Floor. Too bad the sequel fucked everything up
Hey mind explaining what the appeal of Issac is? They gave it away for PS+ once a while back and I downloaded it, played it for like 5 minutes before I uninstalled it. But I know it gets amazing reception so I wanna know what I'm missing out on.
I'd go as far as to say a ton of people have pre-ordered it.
Embric of Wulfhammer's Castle.
...
>
well for me the main appeal is seeing what kind of overpowered item synergies you can get and how fast and effectively they kill the various bosses.
Of course that generally requires putting some time into the game beforehand since most of the items need to be unlocked.
I'm basically autistic so I don't mind the repetitiousness of it all but I could see how it would become tedious for some people
also just striving for full completion of it
FTL by far.

I think this and Bastion were funded by Warner Brothers so it's not Indie, I have to double check though, maybe it was just Bastion
What the fuck did I just see? Did you kill a boss in like 3 seconds?
And judging by what you said then the game isn't for me. I'm not a fan of repetitiveness like that.
>old bisaac
I've been playing a lot of Eden runs for FUN. Starting from next to nothing to becoming an unstoppable god is pretty great, and you can do a full run in 30-40 minutes if you go at a medium-ish pace.
yea thats basically the last level in the game, at which point theres a good chance you're overpowered enough to one shot most bosses, which is basically all that floor throws at you.
heres one where i kill the final final boss in one hit in what is probly the best loadout I've ever gotten
badass
Hnnnggggg. How do you end up with so many followers? I guess I usually avoid them when they come up...
I think Dungeons of Dredmor. Gorgeous hand drawn art, fun tone, beautiful music, the perfect blend of modern streamlining and classic Rogue gameplay. And I mean actual Rogue, not just "you die once and start over" its completely accesible, deep and fun.

Right now it's parkitect, new rollercoaster tycoon thing, very comfy.
I've been mostly been using the Lost because I'm playing Antibirth and a lot of the items are basically designed around him, so he ends up being overpowered early and in almost every run
heres a loadout that consistently crashed my game because the tears would infinitely divide when passing thru rocks and enemies
Hotline Miami
In that run I'm pretty sure I got the R key, which basically lets you start back at the first floor and get a whole new run's worth of items on top of your own.
Naturally its most effective to use it after you clear the chest
Spelunky
DCSS
Hollow Knight
>I should ALWAYS win EVERY TIME
Do you need a participation trophy?
Boy do i love cave story.
...
Oh man, I didn't realize the Lost was even in Antibirth, just googled and got him and a bunch of other stuff transferred from Rebirth...
Antibirth is so good ;_;
Closest I got was the Forget Me Now on Chest, that's pretty awesome. I'll have to watch out for that.
robotron
disc jam
Yea Antibirth is great, but theres so many good items its almost too easy at times and I feel like im cheating
Also Undefined is great on the chest too if you have high luck and a lot of keys because it often teleports you to the I AM ERROR room which basically let you loop the floor over and over
There's too many to name, Just this year though, Absolver and Hollow Knight are 2 classics.
Considering it's literally my favourite game of all time, this would have to be it though. Granted it's a bit difficult to call Doom an indie game, despite being self published by id. If Self publishing is all it takes to be an "indie" game, All the Elder scrolls games are technically "indie"
>Ori and the Blind Forest
>Shovel Knight
>Hotline Miami
>Zeno Clash
>VVVVVV
I would say yes. Best Metroidvania.
Stardew Valley
hammerfight
