Super Smash Bros. Melee for the Nintendo Gamecube
Tr4sh babbies BTFO for their shitty party game with no skill
EVO reporting in
It's a good game. I was actually playing it with some guys at college earlier today. It was great.
They play with items, surprisingly.
Melee is where the Smash series peaked. It's perfect for casuals, perfect for hardcore players, perfect for those in-between. It definitely deserves to be the Smash game with the best attach rate, and the best-selling Gamecube game.
>implying evo 2017 wasn't a shit show
and melee still far better viewership even without sunday spot, only behind sf5
>tfw people act like Melee was never a good casual game somehow
people who hate on this game do it so they will stand out and be special its cute.
While a good game i think that last burst of popularity is the most it will ever get on a large crowd base, we all know another smash will never be as good
nah, all that has to happen is another documentary lol
Why are Melee threads on Sup Forums so shitty? I thought this game had a large playerbase here. It'd be nice to actually talk about the game itself for once rather than the same old Melee vs 4 or e-celeb drama.
Who do you main and why?
What's the most technical thing you can do?
Ever been to a tournament?
>best attach rate
This is incorrect.
Gamecube: 21,740,000
Melee: 7,070,000
Rate: 32.5%
Wii U: 13,930,000
4U: 5,040,000
Rate: 36.2%
Those two games blow all of the others out of the water though. 64 had a better rate than Brawl or 4 3DS.
It's a hardcore fanbase. That's all there is to it.
Game and Watch, because I think he's a cool character.
I can use Ness's PK Fire to stun an enemy and then grab them, and I can use PK Thunder to ram into other enemies.
No.
I'd like to main Dr. Mario but I'm better with Fox. The most technical thing I can do is proper SHFFL (drillshine into waveshine, etc.) with Fox.
I've only ever been to weeklies and I've never made it out of pools.
Ganondorf or Mewtwo. I find both satisfying as all hell to use.
I can L-cancel.
Hell no, I'm casual as fuck. I just acknowledge that Melee is the best Smash game.
Hell, I was glad when my childhood save file was selectively corrupted by my memory card. Playing through Melee and unlocking every character and stage as an adult was an absolutely incredibly experience filled with nostalgia and wonder.
I use bowser and im ok been a long time but i used to chill with two hardcore spacers and while they did beat me i used to get them pretty riled lol
falcon because memes. Most technical thing i can do reliably is pivot grab techchase. I go to friendlies around campus.
I can do basic shffl, jc grab, wd back fsmash type shit with marf. I went to a couple tournaments a long time ago, before I had really thought about the movement system of the game and before we had 20xx color overlays and good videos to explain everything
how is jump canceling into a grab or upsmash more useful than crouch canceling for those two options plus literally any other
jump canceling is always faster out of dash

How's your guys local scene and where is it?
Oregon fag here, our last monthly was alright but not too many set ups and our weekly is far away from where I live. Feels like I gotta move to socal for this game
Is not a fighting game.
Live 30 mins away from NYC so I can get good if I spend the money to take a train/subway to places.
Unless you get a good ass job don't go to Socal. You can git gud in any region honestly, especially with netplay around.
I've been a casual player since 2003. It's not worth putting in all the effort to master advanced technical skill because it's already fun to play and there's still plenty of more fundamental things I need to improve.
Anyway, what's your favourite stage? I always thought corneria was totally rad.
