if he's played it for that long I think he knows what he's talking about

>starts out with "I think this is the best game ever made, but hear me out"
>goes on a 30 year rant on why he doesn't recommend it

>recommended
>0.2 hours
>"i've only just started playing but its REALLY good :)"

>Play the game a little
>HURRDURR YOU DIDNT PLAY ENOUGH TO HAVE AN OPINION
>Play the game alot
>HURRDURR IF YOU DONT LIKE IT WHYD YOU PLAY IT

dumb frogposter

>someone that has experienced everything a game has to offer has to give a game a positive review or no review at all

Are you bothered that people are passionate about things, user?

>If you don't like it why'd you play it
yes?

>8000 hours
>30 page disquisition
>complains about a single bug

You think? I've been on Sup Forums for 13 years, do you respect my opinion more because of that.

I'm happy for Sup Forums that they never had to see the game they love be torn apart with future "updates".

Nice Pepe

>post by a frogfucker
>it's shitty bait

>Put up a review
>Gets a response from the developer trying to insult you

This is a problem because? It's probably some mmo that recently got changed up to be accessed from steam and you'd probably e better off NOT playing it at this point as there is probably no new blood anymore and will cost you an arm and a leg to catch up to the few people still playing.

Huh, so the 9000+ hour negative reviews are posted by people from Sup Forums.

Interesting.

No, because you go on Sup Forums

Better than wasting my life playing video games though right.

>Giving your opinion on steam
Like anyone fucking cares

id write reviews on steam if it werent for this honestly
it just feels too self-indulgent

Dumb frogposter.

Steam reviews are basically a comments section for the game page.

That's the standard /vg/ user.

The few good generals that actually talk about the game are good and all but fuck me if 90% of anons who visit them aren't borderline fucking autists mad that they cant play the same game every waking moment of their lives and not get taken out of the experience and reminded their lives exit when the slightest gripe happens.

TF2 and ASSFAGGOTS in a nutshell.

These are people who wish they could quit the game, so they need to reassure themselves the game is bad somehow.

>Thousands of hours
>Anything close to a single thousand for that matter
>In any game ever
>But its not enjoyable
>Theres a thing on this Earth that you can choose to do FOR A THOUSAND FUCKING HOURS but its not enjoyable, fuck the people who made it.

This. I've got several thousand hours on on big MMOs like WoW and RS. Couple hundred in old FPS, Hearthstone and such.

I think that is an absurd amount of time. Not that I regret it.

But to spend several times that on fucking early access shit, what the fuck.

>8331 hrs on record
>have a game make you drop out of college
>have a game make your hot girlfriend leave you
>have a game ruin your career prospects
>have a game alienate your friends and family
>have a game turn you into a morbidly obese slob
>8331 hrs on record
>you are now 39 living in your parent's basement and they fucking hate you and are planning to kick you out and turn you into a homeless

yeah, i'd say that's pretty much a good reason to not recommend it with a 2000+ words 6 paragraph review

>yes?
no?

It's really not.

Someone being a garbage piece of shit has nothing to do with a game though

>make a retarded joke that has nothing to do with the game
>224 people found this review funny

Why is this shit allowed?

Look mate, I write these reviews for you guys. Be grateful that I'm sharing my wisdom (in good faith) with you fellas.

Clearly know what he's talking about.

I have a myriad of those reviews, and I will explain why. There's actually a slew of reasons.

>the game was some kind of early access product, and despite my playtime the game changed radically (my review of Starbound, with 80 hourS)
>buyer's remorse, attempting to justify the game by playing it heavily modded or playing with friends, but failing to truly justify it as a good purchase (again Starbound)
>game becomes unoptimized and unplayable after an update due to a hardware glitch (early DOS games suffer this)
>developer does something ABSURDLY stupid to destroy any goodwill (Bethesda's paid mods)

>not recommended
>8000 hours on record
>its a dead mmo

feel.

To be fair, the only time I've ever put that much into a game and then not recommended it is because it turned to shit from updates, etc...
Maybe that's what they do it for.

I trust what he says, but i feel that their post will be pure autism

Yeah. dota2 and lol are fucking shit games and no one should play them. But I still do

The only time I ever see this is when they complain that the game turned to shit because of bad updates

You're pathetic and have no self control then. Stop before you regret it even more.

You've spent 1000s of hours in your life. Would you recommend it?

starbound is a nice game you soiled fool

>2 hours on record
>"I only just got the game on steam I played hundreds of hours elsewhere"

I can't it's like my go to thing. If I'm bored I just to them out of habit

>Review made months ago
>5000 hours played
>40 hours played in the last two weeks
>I'M NOT CHANGING THIS INTO POSITIVE UNTIL THE DEVS SWITCH THIS ONE GAME MECHANIC BACK TO HOW IT WAS

>frogposters being retards as usual

Nice try Chucklefish. Your garbage doesn't hold even a fraction of the time I've spent in Terraria.

Literally me. Only reason I buy these console games that get ported to PC is to support the developers. I've already played them to death on consoles because unlike PC cucks I don't sit around waiting for table scraps.

what the fuck nigga

>review is just a faux-greentext of some dumb ""emotional"" or ""funny"" story in-game and not an actual review of how playable or enjoyable the game is

It was the same for me for at least last 200 games or so. Just stop and find another hobby, you will regret it some day. T b h on my surprise, I stopped playing without problems, haven't even been thinking about it after quitting. Uninstall the game and try something creative if you haven't before, download blender and UE4 and start making environments, or pirate FL or Ableton and learn music production or buy a cheap DSLR or mirrorless and go shooting outside or start learning Python and create a shitposting bot for Sup Forums, literally anything that will stop you from thinking about that game, and after a while those thoughts will go away. That fake feeling of accomplishment is evil.

I love Rabi-ribi for its artstyle but literally everyone else thinks it's shit, so even though I love it for how it looks I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else because of it because I know other people wouldn't like it.

>play a game for 300 hours
>updates dry up and the devs leave a skeleton crew of two people to update the game every six months
>don't recommend the game because it'll be in early access forever and isn't worth getting invested into
>devs publicly shame my review because I have 300 hours

starbound

Early access is just early, reverse paid mods, I swear.

>dude pay me so I can finish the game
>dude pay me so you can finish the game

It's starting to piss me off.

>always ends with "11/10, would X again"
I despise this shit, these people need to die

>frogposters being retarded as usual

I feel like someone who's played the game for that long would know what they're fucking talking about. I'm sorry you can't understand reviews longer than "IT BAD 0/10"

So if a drug addict told you to not do drugs you would ignore his opinion?

>game goes into early access
>promises way too much fucking stuff which is par for the course with idealistic indie devs
>they actually add some of the stuff then remove it because it didn't "live up to their vision"
>the other stuff never comes and is forever shown off in spare news posts but is never actually released
>they finally say something is about to be released but then they go silent on it and a year later it's still not released
>in the meantime absolutely meaningless small tiny shit is added so they can claim the game is regularly updated
GUESS THE FUCKING GAME

B-but you put your money and time into our product, goyim, that means you have to defend us from any criticism for life!

Is it Starbound? even if it's not the game you're talking about, it's still Starbound.

This is the fucking worst. Someone likes a game so they take every criticism of it as a personal attack and fucking dogpiles anybody that tries to say something slightly negative about the devs or the game. I stopped posting on game forums years ago because of shit like this.

I wasn't thinking of Starbound but Starbound still perfectly fits

I sort of kind of maybe somewhat think that's his point...

>every race will have a unique storyline guys, it'll be hella epic :^)

I don't understand you faggots
Go ahead and read the shorter reviews that don't properly list the game's negative points
Go ahead and wank off over how totally funny fucking Goat Simulator's positive reviews are, then

How about hose 90000000+ hour fags write an actual competent review instead of bitching on every little detail and completely glossing over the reasons why he played the goddamn game for thousands of hours to begin with? I dislike Warframe for many things, but that doesn't mean that I will only focus on them when writing a review with 500 hours played. It's not exclusive to Steam reviews either, it seems that a lot of veteran players of a certain game only like to talk about bad things for some reason, as if casually dismissing the game which made them waste thousands of hours somehow makes them cool. Ignorance is not cool.

>bitching on every little detail and completely glossing over the reasons why he played the goddamn game for thousands of hours to begin with
Yeaht that's always weird
The point of a review is to inform a potential buyer of the game' strength and flaws, not to be totally epic and have the community like you
Positive reviews that are just memes or fucking greentext are in the same vein

>0.2 hours played
>I actually have 500 hours into the game steam just didn't register it!
>proceed to shit on it with memes

nigga be tryin to warn ya

>Not Recommended
>8331.2 hrs on record
That's fucking retarded.

>2000+ words 6 paragraph review
Nothing wrong with that, though. I'd take a novel over a quick meme review anytime.
