mortal kombat dos ruled

Shadow president is obviously a classic. I also liked crusade-war based games in general.

Cobra mission. It's what turned me into a degenerate.

yea

I had a lot of fun with Dark Forces and HoMM. I had Zork as well, but didn't get all too far in it.

>What was your favorite DOS game?

OMF 2097

>that main theme

commander keen

Fuck yes

Yes. Wings of Fury.

In black and white since I have an Hercules.

I played every ID game, every Apogee game and nearly every Lucasarts game that came out on DOS

>What was your favorite DOS game?
Lemmings.
Didn't know about Master of Magic, Master of Orion, or Civilization.
Lemmings is still great though.

>DOS discussion thread.
This might be more successful in Sup Forums is simply too underage to care about DOS games.

Did you play this game?

Not him, but I think I only had the demo of this. Shareware life.

Captain Comic > Commander Keen

Prince of Persia was one of the best.

no but I did play Galactix, which is the game those same developers made before Raptor. In fact I have been trying to find out the name of Galactix for like 24 years now and your post finally post led me to it when I looked up Raptor, since the screens of it it kinda look similar to how I remembered Galactix

absolutely based

Post DOS tunes

We never did until the Win98 era but I would play on my cousins PC any chance I could get. Lots of great firsts I remember from visiting them in the early 90s like my first fps (Wolf 3d of course). Also I remember they had good sound cards and I was blown away to hear speech for the first time in WIng Commander 2.

Fuck off richfag, with your fancy fucking soundcards. This is what Monkey Island sounded to us poorfags:

Xenon 2 sounded decent with a PC Speaker... or at least, I thought it did in 1991.

Heh, my cousins were the richfags. I remember playing Flight Simulator with an actual, analog flight yoke at their place.
Meanwhile this is what I played at home on a 12 or 14 inch black and white tv: youtube.com/watch?v=_aXYqBVZ_5o

That's actually pretty good for a pc speaker soundtrack. Sounds like they actually tried.

Decent.

hocus pocus
jill of the jungle
skunny

probably ultima 6. When i figured out we had vga and not ega graphics ohhh boy.

Tyrian
youtube.com/watch?v=gaF1LK3HASw

Same, but I didn't actually have the game, only a gaming magazine with a review of it and plenty of pictures
It was the only adult game in the whole magazine, I'm not even sure why it was there

>jill of the jungle
YEAAA-AAHHHH

Yes, I learned how to manipulate the file system on DOS.

Favorite DOS game DOOM 2

Also a really good game
alien carnage/halloween harry

This game was ridiculously hard.

Sierra adventure games for life, tre/vr/

I also didn't understand most of the references when I was a kiddo. Pic related.

I liked Dune games a lot, especially Warcraft orcs and humans since it was pretty much a clone but there are far too many games to mention, I don't think I could pick a favourite..

...

...

...

not DOS. It came out after Windows 95

Mah niggas. Did you have to aim using the keyboard? I can't remember.

>Tyrian
One of my favourites of all time. Here, have a google screenshot of best ship.

Liesure suit larry

My nigger.
Was my first game ever.

>that sound when they rip out your intestines

MOTHERFUCKER, I WAS SEARCHING FOR THIS GAME FROM MY YOUTH FOR AGES, I COULDN'T REMEMBER THE NAME OR ANYTHING, JUST HOW IT LOOKED AND PLAYED. AND NOW MY SEARCH IS FINALLY OVER. THANK YOU MAN, I WISH I COULD BUY YOU A PINT.

I only remember asteroids and missile command and some educational game where you had to spell words. I think I had a wing commander too, but that might have been for windows 3.1.

This game was simply incredible on release. Imo, the height of the series in terms of ambition. Morrowind was the best game, but this was a massive step up for Bethesda from the mediocre Arena.

>not DOS
>thinking people had Windows 95 as soon as it came out
lel

It is only the best adventure game ever made user, after you're done with Quest for Glory 1 look for VGA-remade Quest for Glory 2 which imports to Quest for Glory 3, 4, and 5. All are good games, even 5 deserves a pass.

>8NcArRb
what

It came out on DOS and later came to Win95 as Command & Conquer Gold.

dos games run on the PSP

I wish I could like Tyrian but I'm too used to jap shmups so it just feels shitty to me

The soundtrack is nice though

My favorite was police quest, especially since it taught me the importance of spelling and how to type fast when I was six. I also had KQ1 and KQ4, but never got that far into KQ4.

FALCON THREE POINT OH

Tie Fighter and X-Wing were basically the reason to have a computer.

Descent I/II were absolutely fucking god tier once you got over the learning curve.

Also fuck your circlejerk attempts, if you want to get a DOS game going then fucking do it instead of trying to rope in people to your shit ass ERP servers..
